As long as the water levels are good and the visibility is ok i would try now, i know there is some open water on some of the eastern tribes that never freeze and the fishing is usually good.. explore and find different areas to fish.. DAVE

Hello After breaking plans with Clampet today (sorry Paul) Due to the fact that I had a scheduled guiding day on the ice, 2 new guys that wanted to have fun, catch fish and experience our great ice fishing. We were going to go out to simcoe but I decided to take them to a small crappie lake I like to goto near Cambridge... It was a great day for Pike... managed 3 on the ice and 4 lost in the hole with the largest being 36" +. I even had a pike hit a silver hook that I was dropping down to find the depth, very cool when you catch fish with no bait Managed to catch a tons of crappie (kept 30 ) and 2 very large perch today and I have a good amout of fish fillets. Now My question is with all these filletts what is a good method of cooking them, batter, bake, fry, etc etc I usually bread them and deep fry but looking for something different.. Dave

Lst year I was fishing for walleyes and had a glow stick 18 inches from my lure and a CO stopped us and check our rigs, he said what a great idea, asked me where i got them and said happy fishing. we sell glows in our store and the box has picture of them attached to the line but not to the lure... I will call Wil Wagmen today and find out for sure Dave

HELLO WENT FISHING TODAY WITH BOWSHEP (KEN), WE WERE GOING TO GOTO SCUGOG BUT WITH THE TEMPS DROPPING VERY COLD AND THE WIND THE WAY IT WAS WE DECIDED TO GO TO A SMALL CRAPPIE LAKE I LIKE TO GO TO IN THESE SITUATIONS.... ARRIVED AT 7:30 AND WE STARTED FISHING LOOKING AND PUNCHING HOLES TRYING TO FIND THEM, MANAGED TO CATCH A FEW WE DECIDED TO FISH FOR SOME PIKE WIT A COUPLE OF LOCALS THAT WERE THERE AND BETWEEN THE GROUP 4 GOOD SIZE PIKE HIT AND WAS ICED... THE WINDS DECIDED TO BLOW EXTRA HARD SO WE PACKED UP AND WENT TO COOKS BAY, MAN YOU COULDNT EVEN SEE THE BAY FROM THE PARKING LOT.. WE DECIDED TO GO ANYWAY AND FIND COVER FROM A HUT, ON THE WAY OUT WE SAY CLAMPET AND HIS WIFE HEADING BACK TO SHORE... WE WE LEFT THEM WE MANAGED TO FIND A HUT AND THE GUY IN SIDE INVITED US TO FISH WITH HIM.... IT WAS LIKE BEFORE FISH HITTING EVERY FEW SECS.. 5:30 WE LEFT WITH OUR TOTAL FISH IN THE 30'S.. COLD BUT INTERESTING DAY DAVE

Hello I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on the general area to go fishing this weekend, iS IT BETTER TO GO FISH THE PORT PERRY SIDE OF THE LAKE OR THE OTHER SIDE.... wELL WFN is great i agree, but there are shows on WILD TV that they do not show. I also like the hunting side of the great outdoors.... Rogers said in the next couple week, they should be adding it to the package.. dave
