  1. Hi all, gotta love YouTube, found a video that showed how to make a homemade musky tackle box and save myself $300! Basically 2 10’ lengths of pvc downspout from Rona, an Ozark 48 can cooler from Walmart and 15 minutes on the mitre saw. The product it produces comes in at Around C$115 and easily replaces the item below which comes in at anywhere between $390 and $450. here is the video link for anyone interested .
  2. Hi all, Got out for the first boat outing this year, surface temps hovering around 40F. Looking in vain for crappie but we found some decent bass, a ton of hammer handle pike and the motherload of Rock Bass and Perch in one hole in 30'FOW(weird, never caught so many rock bass, even double headers.)

  3. If only camp work was year round… I’d be up for it in a heartbeat!
  4. Hi all, Got out for an hour in front of the house this evening with my good buddy Roloff.

  5. I get a three week break here, usually get a large(ish) project finished every year.
  6. Lol… I don’t get it.
  7. Hi all, Got to our spot around 5pm, usually pick up a couple of whitefish and the odd walleye and pike before the bite turns on but it wasn’t until 7:20pm when the switch got flicked. We didn’t even mark a single fish before that, was getting worried… lol. Once they turned on it was non stop bites.
  8. Couple more weeks of safe ice, gotta make the most of it right?

  9. Ok, explain please … lol.
  10. Hi all, walleye bite went nuts from 7pm for 45 minutes. must've got 20 or so between the two of us....nice evening too .
  11. Hey Rick, hope all is well, been a while!
  12. The jig feature is amazing, especially if you have the iPilot Link. I’m going for a Crestliner Hawk 1750 with a 115hp, side console. It’s a new model starting this year, I was thinking about a Lund Adventure Sport which has a really nice layout too, but have decided to go welded.
  13. Gotta say I’m jealous of anyone in a boat, winter is long and I’m getting a new boat this year.
  14. Hi all, we have been making ice the last couple weeks, not too far off 'normal' ice thickness for this time of year despite the insanely mild winter, should be a normal(ish) ice out, maybe a bit earlier than the 1st week of May. Took advantage of the extra daylight hours and headed out on Wabigoon yesterday for an hour , supper was great!
  15. You might convince a new one?
  16. Hi all, Got out with my pal up from Minnesota for the weekend, it was kind of slow… we were out for a good 5 hours and got 16 crappie, 5 small walleye, a few pike and assorted dink saugeye and perch… oh and it was freekin’ cold , shelter was toasty though.
  17. Lol, you might have misread “session’” for “season”. Our season has been warm but actually normal in terms of duration, ice out looks to be set to be normal too.
  18. Hi all, Still 2' feet of ice, still getting out once a week at least. Walleye were biting mid afternoon.
  19. Sounds good. I need to put an order in
  20. How long does it take to tie one of those jigs?
  21. Hi all, Went back to a fun walleye puddle , a month ago the bite started at 11am but this time we had to wait until 2pm, then it was game on! Fishing in around 4 feet of water is fun, the motion of setting the hook practically lands the fish…. Lol. Nothing fancy… 1/4 Oz jigs in orange/chartreuse jigged with a tail hooked minnow seemed to be the best, and definitely needed to jig, not a single set line got hit. We got our limits and then some, bite would be non stop for 5 minutes with everyone pulling fish out, then quiet for 10 minutes before it would kick off again.

  23. That colour in particular is doing the damage. I tried your drop shot type rig yesterday, I think it was too ‘busy’ for the fish, for crappie anyway. Walleye like ‘em too. The heavier tungsten sounds interesting, would that increase the overall size a lot?
