No clue! He leases a barn somewhere for the season. You leave the boat at the marina. He shuttles it back and forth. Security concerns I suspect.
-
Don't even know where his storage area is. Much less, how many boats! Trusted this guy. Never had any beefs. In fact when he handed me the contract to sign, I chuckled. Uttering something like "like we really need this". That's the kind of relationship I thought we had!
-
Had he been up front with me in the first place. He wouldn't have my boat or my $400. In fact we wouldn't be having this discussion. Like I said. Unchartered waters. Never sailed this course before. Had no idea what these clowns are getting away with. End of story!

I'm in. Love to meet this Big Cliff so he could call me a spoiled brat to my face. Might be 65 but still ready, willing and able. Could clear up a whole lot of things in a big hurry!

I'm sorry you even read this. Even sorrier for your reply! You have no clue. I don't think you really read this. Just picked out the highlights to find some crap to chuck. I spent much money there over the years making purchases. Not renting space! And, yes I was satisfied! Now he has me dancing to his tune. Packs everything in like sardines. Total disregard for access for anyone. Then covers his ass with an obscure little clause on the back of the page. Boat removal is based on a mutually agreed upon date providing there is reasonable access to the boat. Who's responsible for reasonable access. Sure as heck ain't me. Spoiled brat indeed.

Beating up steel is a long time passion of mine. Don't mind playing with them in the Fall and right up to December 31. Spring time I like to leave them alone and let them do their thing. Love perchin', crappie and silver bass fishing in the Spring. Walleye on Quinte when it opens. Then smallmouth. October is the start of steelhead for me. Got the nickname because I used to tie bags for the whole crew I ran with. Only two of us left now. Time marches on!

All talked out. Even mid-April is only a Maybe. Owned boats for over 40 years. First time I ever rented storage. Only because of the reno. New house 29 years ago. There's never been aa car in the garage. Only several boats. Call me naïve. Gullible. Uneducated in the ways of the world. Call it what you want, but it ain't right!

Insulting and the humor of a child!

What contract is that? The one where he digs a hole. Buries it and waits for it to crawl out in the Spring. The very least I would expect is maintain reasonable access for everyone. Not a lot to ask for $400.
-
Apparently some here are willing to be bullied. Like it or lump it. Take it or leave it. That's bunk. It's mine and I should be able to remove it whenever. Not on his or anyone else's terms. When I said to him "I'll be back in March" he should advised me then of any potential difficulties. Instead, he holds all the cards. Money, boat and, if and when he's ready, a convenient release date. If that doesn't stink, I don't know what does!
-
If they weren't greedy pigs, reasonable access would be maintained. Instead, they fill every usable inch and let the owners suck it up. I'm sure you've signed on the dotted line without reading each and every word. As stated above, I said: "keep it over the Winter. I will be back in March to pick it up". Without hesitation he took my money.
-
No. I expect him to store them in a reasonable fashion. So access is maintained. No one should be allowed to withhold someone else's property for their own convenience. You want to talk unreasonable. How 'bout this? Pay $400 up front. But gee it's really not convenient right now. You'll have to wait! Maybe I can get to you by mid April. What was the $400 for? A patch of ground in a barn somewhere and a convenient for him, release date. 5:30 in the morning. Stomach is in knots. Haven't slept a wink.
-
Standard protocol? Says who? It's my boat. Yet they dictate when I can have it back. No obligation on their part to maintain access. Just jam the place to the rafters. Then at the end of the day. "Oh gee. First in last out. Sorry 'bout your luck!" Protocol indeed!!!!!!!!! Out and out greed.

Rental agreement states: Boat removal is based on a mutually agreed date, providing there is reasonable access to the boat. When I entered into the agreement I told him the only reason I was storing the boat was because of the renovations. He asked how long I thought I would need his services. A month or two? I said "you might as well keep it over the Winter that way I'm sure everything will be done. I'll just pick it up in March". There was no hesitation on his part. Sadly I've been dealing with this same guy for many years. Spent a lot of money there. He's a reputable dealer. First time I've had any grief. But, it will be the last. Perhaps I'm naive, but I don't think access should ever be an issue. It should be up to them to maintain reasonable access. The real issue is the fact that they are greedy pigs. Overfill the space and then say "sorry 'bout your luck". A crock and a half of you know what!!!!!

For the first time ever I put my boat into storage last Fall. I was doing renovations and needed my garage for materials and related equipment. With the change in weather, I called and asked to get my boat out of storage. Apparently because I was one of the first to put a boat in storage, mine is boxed in by too many boats. I'm being told I will have to wait until MAYBE mid April until some of the others are picked up. Is this Bull or is this how they all operate????? Fit to be tied!!!!!!!!!

Sold lots. Bought lots. Problems have been few and far between. Won't mention names but I've had problems with people on here. They want. They want. Never hear from them again. People are people. It's not Kijiji.

Hey Mike guys like this aren't worth getting upset over. To some degree, jealousy is in us all. I'm jealous when I see the places you've been. The fishing you're able to enjoy. Your ability to put fish on the bank or in a boat. The way you can put pen to paper. Most here have nothing but respect and admiration for your abilities. Almost everyone here would love to be in your boots. There's nothing like a narcsisist that thinks he's better than everyone else. Guys that can't stand it when someone else is getting the attention. Keep it coming. Always a treat to ride along when you share your adventures.

Lots of helpful information if you Google retinal tears/retinal detachment . I had cataract surgery on both eyes. Almost four years ago.Ten days apart. I too was amazed at the outcome. Colours came back to life. Improvement in my vision was unbelievable. About a year and a half ago I awoke with large floaters in my right eye. Diagnosis: Post retinal tear. Early stages of detached retina. Initially it seemed to heal itself and was monitored closely by my eye surgeon. He was convinced that the bleed had repaired itself and it was hoped that eventually the floaters would disperse. Didn't happen. Just before Christmas last year large dark floaters appeared in my left eye. Circumstances were such that my eye surgeon immediatelty refered me to the best in the business in Hamilton. He saw me the same day. Discovered that the right eye still had a minor bleed and the left eye had three tears. Resulting ina severe hemmorage. I underwent lazer surgery, on both eyes, the following day. I still contend with floaters. Over time they have become more and more transparent. Some lighting bothers me more than others. My vision for the most part is once again in excellent shape. This Doctor is renowned. If a trip to Hamilton is not out of the question, I would strongly recommend you see about a referal. Anyone in this and related fields knows of his work. Send me a pm and I can give you his contact information.. As previously stated. Hang in there. Stay positive. Follow instructions to the letter. Good luck.

Typical TREE HUGGER. Part of the same group that thinks commorants should be protected. Doesn't matter that a commorant eats it's own weight in fish daily. Nor does it matter that their excrement kills everything they decide to roost in. Sadly the MNR backs the likes of these people. Commorants are protected yet they continue to destroy our fisheries. As for Canada geese, there is a river walk in my town. The goose poop is unbelievable. Soon our waterways will be so polluted, safe drinking water will be a thing of the past.

I use the CD 7 Perch pattern for walleye in my local river. If you can wade to a point where you can work the lure straight downstream they catch a lot of fish. More often than not, I don't even have to retrieve. Just make a short cast downstream. Allow it to work in the current ticking bottom. Looks a feeding baitfish. To search different water downstream, just open the bail. Let it drift downstream and close the bail. Much like hotshotting. Steelhead love the Perch pattern as well. Especially when they settle in and rest in deeper holes. Not my first choice for Steelhead but when fish are aggressive, they'll smash them. CD 9's in black and silver work well for shoreline browns in early Spring. Just as effective as AC shiners. Usually troll them at about two miles an hour. Count them down to half the water depth. If the water is really flat I will troll using my bow mount electric so as not to spook fish. Tried small side planers years ago but found them to be a whole lot of aggrivation. Perhaps with new technology the are now more user friendly. The early ones were a pain. Flat lining with long leads behind the electric gets it done.

Tried 20 lb. Sunline Super Fluorocarbon on a batch last year. Found that there was too much memory. On several the snell on the bottom hook didn't hold. Probably should have left a longer tag end. I'll be tying up a batch for opener. I'll make sure I mix it up a bit. Fluoro and braid. See where it goes. Thanks for the reply.

Feeling like a high jacker again but, anybody ever tie up harnesses with braid? Do a lot of early season walleye fishing. Weedlines in shallow bays. Lots of pike around. They saw right through 14 & 17 lb mono. Thinking tying some up using braid. Hoping this might prevent being bit off. Wondering if it may be too visible. Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
