This particular spot is small lake with a couple of river mouths, i don't think it's very deep. I've had most success in the spring around the river mouths and around weeds later in the summer. I usually fish it from shore but I have taken to boat there before.
Thanks for all the information, I'm getting some good ideas of things to try
I've been out twice in the last couple of weeks, I've tried using spoons, spinner baits, jerk baits, swimbaits, jerk shad. I'm mostly fishing shallow areas/bays and around weeds. Any tips would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
I got out friday to try for some late season pike. Could not get the pike to bite but i did manage my first ever steelhead?? x2
What a fight these fish put up! Seeing these fish in pictures is neat, but catching one and seeing it person is a whole other thing. Both fish were released after a quick pic.

Haha...thanks guys, my guess was 4 lb but i'll take the 3 - 3.5 lb
Roy, that's a nice fish but i think i have you beat in that category. This guy hit my spinnerbait, and managed to hook himself somehow...
Thanks, i will
i'll keep that in mind, thanks!
Good luck, it's a really useful technique to learn
Thanks, and congrats on all those good fish you've been catching
Yeah it's a good crank bait to have, i've been using it a lot this year
Hi everyone,
I gave flipping a try the other day at a local pond...
Here's what i picked up...
I fished at a spot that has been producing 1-2 fish on every outing but no luck. I had a bite but failed to hook the fish.
After about 1 hour, i switched to Mr. "Big O" and on the second cast i got this...
Still lots of learning to do, but this is part of the excitement about bass fishing...
