  1. Since it's the off season and spring is fast approaching coupled with the time of year most are doing research and trying to plan which unit to upgrade too I thought I'd share this thread I've been following with direct comparisons between Lowrance Downscan and Humminbird Down Imaging. Some great images here of the same structure take from both Lowrance & Humminbird - http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com/zerothread?...3630&page=1 I myself I"m looking forward to seeing how the downscan and side imaging performs this season out on the big water. Cheers, G.
  2. Well did another tour of the boat show today, this time on my time. I've been on the look out for a Mustang hydrostatic Inflatable PFD for myself for a while now. Well I found a smokin' buy today at the boat show. Picked up the Mustang MD3153 for $230 at Inland Liferafts & Marine Ltd (416)207-0446 http://www.mustangsurvival.com/products/product.php?id=508 This particular vest retails between $320-340 Tomorrow, sunday, is the last day for this year's Toronto International Boat Show if anyone is interested. Cheers, G.

    sonar?

if you don't mind me asking, is the gift certificate enough to justify paying the higher price at BPS? I would suggest giving Josh @ Angling Outfitters in Woodstock a chance before you decide. He will be able to help you decide which brand and model based on your fishing needs. His pricing, knowledge along with support will blow you away that despite your BPS certificate, depending on value, you may be better off buying from him. He can be reached at 519-539-5494, and don't be afraid to tell him Gavin told you to call him He's doing all the electronics on my boat this spring! Cheers, Gman
  5. Merry Christmas all, sounds like you were all good over the past year Like many other’s have already stated, spoiled at the Gman's residence as well. Christmas is about the kids however Mrs. Clause just wanted some extra $$ to shop on boxing day and during our annual vacantion to Ft.Myers in March. Both girls got their fair share of dolls and princess paraphernalia. Santa also left us a fantastic family gift – Wii Fitness Plus with the box, matt, and all controllers including nunchucks (hear that Chuck Norris! ) Wii Sports, Extreme Challenge and Rapala Fishing. And to top it off Mrs.Claus also let daddy order the ultimate family gift,,,a new Ranger with all the fixins Cheers G.

    RESP

To maximum of $500/yr per child. Been saving money for both children since they year before they were born and haven't stopped. We believe it's part of planned parenthood. Little bit every month over a long period is much more painless than larger sums over a shorter period plus you get the benefits of dollar cost averaging and compounded growth - the 8th wonder of the world! Congrats TJ! Cheers G.
  7. If you're looking at the side imaging and structure scan you will require the LSS-1 module and LSS-1 transducer. From talking with several people much closer than I they don't believe there are any plans to incorporate the technology in to the head unit as it will only increase the price while not everyone is interested in paying for the technology. Hope this helps. Cheers, G.
  8. I'm not entirely sure however I am confident Jocelyn at Angling Outfitters in Woodstock can give you the details. He's doing all the electronics on my new ride including the Lowrance side imaging which includes the down scan. Cheers G.
  9. James, just to to Advanced and get it done right. That's where I took my 19# brown the 34# king I caught this past summer. I'll be picking them up at the end of January or beginning of February. They're the best around and very well priced, you'll be amazed at your options and their creativity. Cheers G.
  10. Here's a link to the HOT SHEET of the new Yamaha VMAX SHO motors along with a link to the HOT SHEET of Yamaha Offshore motors which have shed considerable weight - I believe the 300hp has shed approx 246 pounds http://www.simyamaha.com/category_s/1880.htm Here's a Youtube vid with one of the new Yamaha VMAX SHO motors on the back of a Ranger Comanche - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9LA03i3nWc Sounds like an awesome experience Craig not to mention loads of fun, which Ranger was it with the 300hp the Ranger Z22 or a the new 2010 621? Cheers, G
  11. Appears the leaks are starting - http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/10809/...ne-250-SHO.html Cheers, G.
  12. If you can hold off till November 20th at least see what Yamaha is coming out with it might be worth it as I've got good word their launching a new motor, supposedly all new high performance 4-strokes. Cheers, Gman
  13. FLW axes TV coverage for walleye but at the same time removes the 250hp max in the walleye series! http://www.walleyecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159217 Cheers G.
  14. Simply put, Josh is the man and there is no other. He takes care of his customers like no other and he's knows his stuff! Cheers G.
  15. The FLW, both the bass and walleye circuits have a max hp allowance of 250. Many are hoping the FLW will re-visit and increase it with the new 300+hp motors along the newly re-designed hull of the 2010 Ranger 621VS multi-species fisherman model which has a max hp rating of 300. Those FLW tour pros will do anything for an extra few miles an hour. Cheers G.
  16. From what I've been hearing from speaking with a few industry people is that it's going to be a light weight high output 4-stroke focused towards the bass boat market. Guess we'll really have to wait and see. Cheers G.
  17. Take a peak at this, supposed to be launched November 20th I believe. http://www.yamahagamechanger.com/ Cheers, G.

  19. Just got my prize package in the mail today from the inaugural "Getting Hooked with Aaron & Barry Photo Contest" - WOW you guys rock what a package I'm totally blown away These guys have got a great educational show that every single one of us can do with some planning as it's not some fancy flyin' up north or to some $4000/week amazon adventure - all their shows take you step by step on how to catch fish in on some of the best waters in Ontario which also just happen to be in our own backyard For those who haven't already submitted pictures it's quite easy and you'll have lots of fun doing it do as there's more than one way to take a picture of your catch - get creative and experiment,,,it's what having fun is all about while creating memories at the same time Here's few pics of my prize package I rec'd today in the mail, this should help motivate a few. I take it Aaron put it in the mail as soon as I said I'd meet up with him one morning during the next few weeks in Port D Get out, go fish, take pictures and submit them by the deadline and you can win too Thank you once again Aaron & Barry keep up the awesome work! Cheers G.
  20. I know where I live, in Milton, and I think Oakville is the same - you're allowed to park such vehicles in your driveway from May 1 thru to October 31 inclusive. The town can't do a thing however after those dates it's managed by complaint. Now, if he complains and keeps complaining about your boat in your driveway and you get tickets I can't help but think at which point is your Town/City assisting with him harrassing you? Is it the mandate of the Town/City to willingly and knowingly support what you feel is a form of discrimination (if you're of a visible minority it's better)? At which point does this discriminatory practice become harassment? Maybe you could also even him out fishing for a day? Cheers, Gman
  21. Is this what you're talkin' bout,,,,,only a few weeks away Cheers, G.
  22. Well said Justin, you just took the words right of my mouth. I go every year for something to do, you know to put some summer into my winter and I also like boats so of course I like to look at the new models and what's new. I already know what the costs are going to be before I go. Besides this year they had a $3 off coupon on the website if you bought your ticket online before January 12. Cheers, Gman
  23. Procrastinator's unite tomorrow Cheers, Gman
  24. Someone asked us all afterwards why we didn't confront these guys about what they were doing. The thought of jumping on board and holding them in a chicken wing under citizen's arrest until the police arrived had crossed my mind, but thankfully my better judgement took over. Thanks, but the vigilante stuff should be saved for the movies pal! Hmmmmm,,,,,,interesting! Cheers, Gman
