  1. Apparantly this is the year of the BIG musky on OFC. Awesome fish, congrat's to your bud!
  2. Very cool, thanks for posting. I've been to O'sullivan 3X over the years, great drive-to lodge! Stayed at their outpost camp once, went up with my own boat and camped another time, and started a canoe trip down the Little Current river there as well. Did you fish Superb Lake? It was always good for me. Cheers
  3. Nasty? You must be the sensitive type. I'll defend my family, myself, and my country. I'm not about to start something with your typical drooling, gap toothed knuckle dragging bank mutant. Especially over a freakin' boot!
  4. Who cares, just walk away it's not worth it.
  5. I like to cure the skein with pink coloured pro-cure. Once cured it'll last in the fridge for up to a month. Leave the entire skein intact and cut off chunks for bait as needed, usually toonie sized or larger. You can incorporate an egg loop on your hook to keep the skein in place. Personally I don't find that necessary. As mentioned large octopus style hooks work well, I usually use the fluorescent coloured ones in size 4. Float fishing all the way with one tip: don't be afraid to run an extremely short lead, much shallower than the actual water depth. Sometimes you'll get 10x the number of hits that way. Bear in mind I'm talking about rivermouth/estuary fishing here....not up river. Now is the time to do it, so get out there and have fun! Here's a couple pic's from last year:
  6. Can't believe I just read this entire thread. Oh well at least I got chips
  7. Just incredible Drew, like Roy said in your previous thread it's getting hard to come up with adjectives to describe your exploits. There's no doubt that male char in their spawning colours are by far the most beautiful fish in freshwater, the fish you guys caught are truely spectacular, big congratulations! Interesting that you mentioned the guy using the float reel on the Tree river. One of my best friends in the world (who I'll be fishing with in 2 weeks ), lives in Yellowknife and has guided at Plummers and the Tree River camp for years. He's an old river rat originally from Ontario and he consistently slays big numbers of Char using his float rod and centrepin. Thanks for taking the time to put that together, lord knows it must have taken a while! Cheers, Mike
  8. Terrible news, codolences from both Joanne and myself.
  9. Thanks for the report! Your place is in one of the most beautiful corners of the province, very nice.
  10. Nice fish dude! Just curious, but do you know who won the thing? Can't find it anywhere online.. Cheers
  11. Really?, wonders never cease. I'll bet they taste just like chicken .
  12. Amazing fish, congrat's dude! (And a nice intro to the board I might add, welcome! )
  13. Yeah you might be paying a bit more, but at least in my case I order from Cabelas all the time ( 3 times in the past 2 weeks ) for the luxury of having exactly what I want delivered to my front door in less than a week. I don't have the time energy or patience to go traipsing around to a dozen different shops to find what I need.
  14. More or less what I was thinking. How can scientists do anything beyond speculate what the ice cap was like back then?
  15. Great read! Did you let all the tournament guys in on the dock pattern? That would be pretty funny if flipping docks became the go-to tactic LOL!
  16. Nice fish and interesting observations.
  17. Believe it or not some landowners do own the streambed....
