  1. Thanks . Back in the day (seems like a lifetime ago) I actually made some pocket change peddling my scribbles. Joannes been on my back to do it again. She wants to see some tangible benefits from all the days on the water. OFC is as good a testing ground as any....
  2. Thanks bud, although I get the impression that most guys just want to see pic's LOL!
  3. Bayfield should be on the high side but fishable. Definitely fish in the river. Welcome to OFC btw.
  4. Suddenly Port Dalhousie looks a lot less appealing to me.
  5. I've fished off that wall a fair bit this fall since moving to Grimsby, can't say that I've encountered anything other than pleasant like minded people. Although I can see how a novice not in sync with everyone could wreak havoc LOL!
  6. Should've copied and pasted, didn't. That won't happen again. I'm going to start again right now.
  7. I just spent 7 hours putting together a detailed and (I thought) very well written recap of my Michigan steelhead trip. I was done, it was beautiful. I pressed the post new topic icon and my screen just disappeared.
  8. Islander is not a high end reel, it's more middle of the pack as far as price goes. Simple yes, but the machining is uber precise with most centrepins, waaay moreso than pretty much any other type of reel, and the process is painstaking and expensive.
  9. I have no problem per say with cel phone use, it was a young inexperienced driver with a 2 week old G2 who hit my wifes car. That's the issue. There's a reason why insurance premiums are so high for young drivers. My entire family could've been killed.
  10. Already did that Wayne. Seemed the smart thing to do when Jo woke up this morning with a sore back and my daughter complained her neck hurt... My son's only 2 and not talking yet. In any case there appears to be no serious injuries but as you say you never know..
  11. Yes my entire family could've been wiped out. I still can't believe no one was hurt. A passenger in the vehicle in front of Joanne was hurt, not sure how bad yet but she was taken to hospital. The car sustained major damage to both front and rear. The hood was also pushed up.
  12. It's been a crazy day bro, lot's of stuff going on. On the way home yesterday my family was stopped at a red light and rammed from behind at 60km an hour. They're okay thank God, but were shaken... A lot of Bull today with the kids father, insurance, police etc., etc., etc.... Anyway I'll try and throw a report up tomorrow. It was a stellar trip .
  13. Yesterday late afternoon as I was driving home from fishing in Michigan my wife and 2 young kids were involved in an accident. They were stopped at a red light with one other vehicle stopped about 6' in front of them. A young girl driving her parents vehicle with a 2 week old G2 license rammed them from behind at 60km an hour. Didn't even brake. She apparantly was talking on her cel phone. Our vehicle was rammed forward into the car in front. Most importantly everyone is okay although my kids were shaken. I'm furious beyond belief at this lame brained twit and have no sympathy whatsoever for her or anyone like her. I tend to agree with the above statement. Maybe after I cool down I'll soften my stance but I doubt it.
  14. I saw that too, have to admit I chuckled a bit .
  15. Fabulous Wayne, looks like a blast! (Lloyd sure does have an impressive collection of lures in his boat )
  16. Not much I can add to the advice that's been offered. You're a brave man indeed to ask this question publicly and you've got my respect. Good luck
  17. Glad to hear it's working out for ya! As far as the Islander goes it's a good serviceable reel, the Honda Civic of centrepins.
  18. Awesome Mike, Nice to see OFC'rs finally doing well at a Quinte G2G. Great stuff!
  19. WTG Shawn, some trophy fish there. Almost makes me want to put the float rod down .
  20. The tackle box that I do utilize has removable trays just like the tackle bags. It's like a hardshell version of a bag. The top has a deep bulk compartment for miscellaneous stuff...
  21. Bag or backpack all the way, best way to organise stuff....except I use a tacklebox up north at my camp. It's totally waterproof and everything is always left in my boat (which is totally open with little storage).
