  1. Awesome! Yet another way for you guys to spend time together in the great outdoors. That is something I've gotta do one of these days. Scary thought I know!
  2. Joey! SSSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As they say in Tennesse, it's foul hooked! Still a catch in my books, lol!
  3. Let's see someone beat this one! This was caught on a Shallow Raider bait.
  4. Who in the hell is Marty? Does he really exist anymore? On another note, I can't wait to get down there for our annual gtg Roy!
  5. Actually, the overdue payments are for repairs which the lady in the office led us to believe would be covered by the corporation. We have never had a problem with our monthly payments thankfully. That is good advice Jim. Perhaps I will look into talking to the other owners to see if they have been experiencing similar problems.
  6. We own the condo, so the housing tribunal would not apply to this situation. I have a copy of the letter I sent them before Roy, but I didn't send it registered mail which I now realize was a BIG mistake.
  7. I don't normally post about stuff like this, but I am at the end of my rope with this and I need help!!! We live in a condo and recently received a threatening letter from the condo corporation head office stating that our account is in arrears. We were completely unaware of any payments pending against us. Attached to the letter is another letter which was supposedly sent to us a month ago by the office at our condo. This original letter was never given to us. This is the second time that this has happened, that we have received a threatening letter from the head office because the lady that works in the office has failed to do her job. I don't appreciate being threatened with legal action, etc for something that we were completely unaware of. My question is, what can I do about this? In my opinion, they should be keeping track of important letters such as these such as sending them via registered mail, etc. Now, it is her word against ours and my thinking is that they will believe her because she an employee. I am fed up with her laziness and failure to perform her duties. Please help!
  8. Awesome pictures guys. It also looks as though you had at least a couple days of sun, even if the weather was still cold. That's more than we can say!
  9. That is awesome Mike! She is such a cutie, I'm sure she had a ball. Maybe she'll have to be my partner in November, lol!
  10. Both the Hiawatha and Alderville First Nations are located on Rice Lake, so some of the land/islands may be Native owned. I believe in those cases the land would be private property, not crown land. There are a ton of resorts on the lake, I am sure quite a few of them that offer tent camping. Here are a couple of sites to check out if you decide to go with that option. www.ricelaketoday.ca www.ricelakecanada.com
  11. That is absolutely amazing Clive, congratulations. It ALMOST makes me want to start a family of our own, but I think I'll check back with you in about a year, lol! It was nice meeting you up in Red Lake as well!
  12. As I said Connie, one less smartmouth comment about the sunscreen and you may have seen the sun a little more! Seriously though, it is too bad that you didn't get a bit of a break for the remainder of your stay. Seems as though you made the best of it though!
  13. We got onto a good trolling run for our pike. We trolled along the rock points and the shoreline that joined the different points. Pretty much every pass we did we were onto a fish over 40". The fish we got were around 5 to 8 feet of water. Our hot baits were Johnson silver spoons tipped with a white salted grub. Most of our walleye were caught on eyeball jigs and white Power Minnows.
  14. Connie got it bang on. Adam doesn't like his pictures posted because some expert will put in his "no cents" worth that the size of the fish is exaggerated. Not worth it! And Roy, it is a good thing you've got that on your list! Connie is a GREAT guy, and even better person! And I had met Phil before this trip at Lakair last year. Thankfully I got to spend more time chatting with him this time around. A great guy as well, and one hell of a pasta chef!
  15. A few weeks back Reefhawg and I had the pleasure of staying for a week at Sportsman's Lodge on Little Vermillion Lake. I would have posted the report sooner but I have barely found time to breathe since we got back. We were fortunate enough to meet up with Tennesseguy, Whopper and two of their good friends. It was a pleasure to be able to chat with them and share stories throughout the week. What a great bunch of guys! Hopefully we can meet up again sometime, and don't forget Adam's offer for November... Anyways... the weather was not the most pleasant experience of the whole trip. We woke to snow two days of the trip, quite the change from the smog alert days we were having back home before leaving! Cold and overcast skies made for some tough fishing for the first couple of days until we figured out a pattern. Once we got our technique down there was no stopping us! Here are some of my pictures, Adam's will have to remain a mystery for all of you (or y'all as they say in Tennessee) oldtimers that know who I'm talking about! These pike were like nothing I've seen before. Now I've caught a musky or two in my day, but the heads on these fish were unreal. Just gigantic, bigger than most of the big muskies I've caught. I can't wait to get back there after they've packed on a bit of weight throughout the summer. Hopefully one day very soon! The walleye fishing was also very good. We never came home with an empty stringer when we went out looking for a meal. The lodge that we stayed at was awesome. The accommodations were superb and the staff was friendly and helpful. Not to mention that the owner, Brett, was a great guy. It was a great experience and I hope to be back again one day.
  16. I'll vouch for that Lloyd fella as well. Great guy, great fisherman, great guide. We went out with him for a walleye trip a couple of years back and had great success. Haven't gone out for salmon yet though... hint... hint Lloyd...
  17. Just wondering what all of the musky nuts have been doing to kill the time until opener? I think I'm starting to go crazy from the withdrawls. Sure there are other species to fish for, but nothing quite fills the musky void. The angler formerly known as Reefhawg and I will probably be heading out for some walleye the next couple of weekends and then we're making the long trek up to Red Lake for the second last week of May. Hopefully we'll get into some fat pike up there to tide us over until opener.
  18. Yeah Pete, that Pierre guy looked familiar to me, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Must have been the French accent... Now how about those legs!
  19. You know, Pierre! The guy with the 'stache! Cripes, remind me not to drop anything on the floor when I'm at Thorpe's this year! I wouldn't want to know whether or not he wears underbritches with it!
  20. I thought it was "Pierre" that did the brats commercials? And you mean to tell me it is actually Pete? I must say Pete, you are one of few men who can pull of a pink hat without looking too "feminine". The dress though, that is another story! Marc's computer must be down, or else he's putting together a really good response!
  21. Let us know if you're going to be in the area Jefy, perhaps you could hook up with Adam and I for a beer when you're finished!
  22. I bought one for our pup last year off ebay. He's a lab and is a great swimmer, but I wouldn't chance not having one on him on a body of water like the Bay of Quinte. The price of the one I got from ebay was outstanding, far better than anything I had found up here. I think I paid $15 or something for it, up here I couldn't find anything decent for a large dog for under $40.
  23. If you want to watch the UFC fight during your fishing trip, all the power to you! Some people read books, others sit around a campfire, some play games, some pick their nose, etc... to each their own. The last time we purchased a UFC fight from Rogers a warning came up before it started saying that airing the fight in establishments such as bars, etc was prohibited. I guess the term pay "per view" comes into play. If there are 40 people in a bar watching it, they only sell one pay per view. If the bars aren't allowed to play it, that means more sales of the fight in private homes. It would be interesting to know if that would increase sales though. I kind of doubt it.
