I had a few days off last week so I managed a couple of outings with my eldest, It seems any time I decide to head to Simcoe I either get gale force winds or no wind at all, well this particular day it was windless I mean zero wind add to that not a cloud in the sky and very hot. I figured it was going to be a tough due to the conditions and my general lack of knowledge of Simcoe, well it was a tough day for me for sure Tried every technique I know and managed a measly 6" perch for my efforts!!! My son Brad on the other hand had a decent day he managed to land 3 nice smallies, by the Berkley scale they were all just shy of 5 pounds! I will keep trying!!!

Looks like a nice spot Terry, the walk to the poop house looks like it would be fun in the dark! Ya six guys in that cabin looks tight! My fly-in is about 3-1/2 weeks away and the anticipation is building!

You don't need xpert help for this question, my better half has been using a 40 dollar combo for the 2-3 times ayear she fishes for the last 10 years. Don't waste too much time deciding!

There was a rather lenghy post here last year I believe about a member try to make a warranty claim for a V rod, if memory serves the Canadian office was not willing to do anything but oddly enough the American office was willing to honor the warranty. Can`t remember the member who started the thread or what the outcome was!

yes my medium heavys and mediums regular action have taken a lot of abuse and everybody knows rods are fragile but we all have bumped and jostled rods into rod lockers,cars seat,ceilings etc. with out issue but this one just snapped very easily. I hope they replace it as I have been a very loyal Shimano customer since I purchased my first Shimano Bantam some 25-30 years ago, we shall see!

Sending back a Compre today that was never used, broke the darn thing putting it into a rod case snapped the tip like a tooth pick!

Some rods are tougher than others obviously.My medium heavys are almost bullet proof but the medium fast action 7' Compre that I am wrapping and sending back to Shimano today broke putting it into a rod case. Never got the bloody thing wet!!!

Lord have mercy, I love these threads!!! I would say you have to wait until you completely digest your limit and then have a bowel movement to be completely rid of your allowable limit, the answers to these questions can get rather silly can`t they!!!

Ditto on what Chris said, I have a couple of the Bob Izumi signiture rods the older version blue ones 2 piece and they are super rods. I have had them for about 10 years now and they are still going strong and they will be making the trip to Ricther lake in a few weeks as well.

Those are some nice gators. I am hoping to do battle with a couple of those myself at Eddie`s other camp in September, but something tells me Richter is going to more of a numbers place than a big pike place. Hope I am wrong!!!

I am no expert but I was pulling bass out of shallow water the past few days that was 83/84 degrees, I think if Mr.Bass has a roof over his head he is fine in temps well above 80!
