I think the slot, and low keep limit is helping the walleye population up there, plus enforcement, we see the CO pretty much every time we are there.

Gee looks like the OV shot was as popular as the fishing shots, he he he. I remember when you would get a free fishing lure with a case of OV....Thanks for the replies, glad you enjoyed them. We stayed at Kenlea Cottages, Big Guy, the cabins are nice for the fisherman/woman, and not a far (about 5 miles) to "the river".

Made it up to Kenlea Camp at "The Baril" last weekend, the weather was typical for this time of year, cold windy and wet. The fishing was good, as usual for this time of year as well. We packed light ....... My brother got a nice 40" pike the first day. our Friday keepers.... Saturday morning there was a surprise in our minnow bucket, this little guy got in, ate our minnows, and sadly for him drowned in there.... Saturday's fishing was very good, the sun even came out, many fish in the slot and a nice limit of keepers Time to get to work ..... and the reward..... Blue skies on Sunday .....slow bite, one nice fish for the Habs fan...... Great trip boys !!! Scenery..... PS. one more picture of the pike (love my brothers face on this one

I have only stayed there in the summer, been twice, once in 99 and last year. The walleye fishing was good both times I went (better in 99). I stayed at Okimot both times, nice place, they do run some cottages in the winter and I heard the walleye fishing is good from some others that were staying there.

....as for the night danger thing, I agree, however in this case we trolled in a specific area right close to the cottage, clear access to and fro. Also with the full moon and clear sky it was quite easy to see were we were going. There was some thought involved, and it paid off big time. Thank you for the congrats people....

Just got back from a week with the family and friends at beautiful Stony Lake, great weather, with some awsome moon lit nights. We caught several small to medium bass, LM and SM, a couple of walleye, including a beauty 23"er (she went back of course) The Walleye in the picture took a "shallow Raider" muskie bait (must have been hungry). Then On Tuesday night under a full moon we were trolling a deep channel with a smaller bait, looking for walleye(s) when this girl smashed on to the seen ....sorry about the goofy look on my face, I was a little freaked out. It took about 10 minutes for her to get back into it, but she swam away after some TLC at boat side. A quick measure, she was about 45" ...a PB for me.
