Thnx... My Honda is gone now... Working on a new motor right now....
-
I talked to a mechanic that said Canadian tire had a good ethonol additive.... He wasn't very specific tho...
-
Didn't wanna high jack Billy Bob's thread... I'm buying a new outboard in the next 2 weeks and was wondering if/what everyone adds to their fuel to combat the effects of ethanol... I wanna make sure this motor lasts as long as possible with minimum issues... Also... Are there certain parts that should just be changed every so many years just in case...? Like some kind of ethanol rebuild kit... Kinda like preventative maintenance.... I'd rather spend a bit of $$ here and there during slow times to avoid failure on the water during busy times... Any other advice is more then welcome....
-
Now that im getting a new motor... I'll be sure to put the right additives in....
-
Of your looking for Ways of mounting... Trojan tackle is the cats rear end... If you know what I mean...

It's out of lancaster but your probably thinking the walleye masters tourny maybe... That used to be the summer tourny..., but hasn't been done in years.... We have been trying to establish an anual tourny for a handful of years now...

Had a great day today in our local tourney.... We ended up getting second place with 17.45lbs for 3 walleye.... First was 18.25lbs or so with big fish being over 8lbs... It was great.... We had our 3 biggest fish in about the first hour of the day so the pressure was off early... Ended up boating 11 or 12 walleye today... All around awesome day and now it's beers and pizza with the family to celibrate....
-
Happy birthday buddy... Just for you I caught lots of big walleye today.... Your welcome.... Lol
-
So I was driving down the river and as I'm going by this yacht I notice an old timer lifting the anchor.... Then I took a closer look.... The old fart was NUDE!!!!! Then about an hour later... Doesn't he drive right past me.... Still NUDE!!!!! Lol.... Must me nice being retired without a care in the world....

If erie wasn't so dam far.... I'd come fish perch with ya Bob

I know here.... Long rods help.... We switched to 10 foot noodle rods for perch years ago... You can really see the hits on the rod tip... And better hook sets with the long rods also.... Takes a bit of time to get used to 10 footers in a boat...but worth it...

Nipissing Walleye fishery in 'crisis': OFAH
mike rousseau replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
I'd bet it's pretty equal between NFN and anglers/guides... I'm guessing guides on nip keep over 1000 walleye during open water season.... Plus walleye anglers that get out at least once a week keeping a few hundred a year.... Plus all the ice hut operations.... I have no clue what they would likely keep in a year... So if you do the math id imagine that the number of fish taken by guides... Tourists... Local anglers... Ice anglers... Would be pretty high... Maybe not 660,000 pounds of fish like the NFN but it woul be substantial... I think the key is getting educated anglers to try and break the old school mentality of others of keeping everything you catch... A 3lb walleye feeds me and my wife... So any time I keep a limit of 4... We take a fish... Mom gets a fish... Dad gets a fish... Grandparents get a fish... Or I keep 1 or 2 and feed my family and that's it... Otherwise it goes in the freezer... And I prefer fresh fish... Like others have said... Pointing fingers doesn't help anything... Everyone should have their limits trimmed a bit... Because all sides of the fishery are to blame somewhat... The world has changed and is still changing fast.... And it's up to all of us to take responsibility to ensure these resources are here for our kids... I know I've changed... When I was younger I kept as many fish as I legally could and would give it to friends and family... Now that I know better... I keep what I need for supper here and there... And same goes for my fishing partner for the day.... We also don't have any slot here(in Ontario waters anyways)... But I have boat rules regarding size of fish kept... I don't know of I'm right or wrong... Just how I see things... -
Depends on water temps....lol I know in my area... Smallies go crazy in September.... Musky go crazy mid sept to the end of October.... And walleye here are getting into full swing now and it just gets better till christmas... As for quinte walleye.... From what I can tell... The later the better.... October may still be early for "great" quinte fishing...

It's amazing how some can love a product and others curse it...lol I think the key to using artificial baits over live is knowing when to use it... Personally... I use gulp products on moderately aggressive presentations.... When it super cold I like live bait.... When it's really warm... I like hard baits... For the in between temps I like gulp.... Haven't put a worm on a walleye spinner in years.... Use gulp and catch more fish too... Don't have to worry obout losing your bait as much...

How young are the young fellas.... I used 8lb mono for everything till I was better at handling my tackle... Then I switched to braid... Mono is easy to handle... Easy to tie.... Easy to cut.... And cheap... If "I" were to set up a rod to "do it all" it would probably be 30lb power pro.... ...

Stick with corn.... YouTube hair rig for how to tie up.... And feed them.... Get dry feed corn and boil it till its soft enough to break with your fingers... Then spread 3-5 gallons the night before you plan on fishing.. In the spot you wanna fish.... When you show up in the morning they'll be waiting for you.... Find a clear patch to cast your hook... Put some more corn around it(handful or 2)... And your off to the races.... And BE PATIENT!!!!!! Sometimes it takes an hour or 2 for a bite.... Feeding the night before helps get fish faster in the morning.... But still can take a while

St Lawrence trolling cranks for walleye in 20 feet of water on a break that goes from 0-80 feet real fast...
-
Yes The mouth was straight foreword... I could lip him... Suckers the mouth is pointed down...
-
I keep a needle for fizzing in my tackle box.... But it's for emergency situations... I never plan on using it... But if the situation comes up where a big fish(to big for me to eat) is gunna die... Then I'll fizz it and monitor it in my live well to be certain it will survive before it is released... But that's why I fish less then 25 feet of water most of the time....
