Water temps have dropped to 71-72... So each fish is different... Depending on visual signs on the fish... Length of fight... How long it takes to remove hooks... Etc... The first fish was a water release due to waves and heavy winds... The rest were landed fairly quick in calmer weather so I decided pics would be fine.... They all took off pretty quick... And none of the fish were hooked bad...

Thanks everyone... It was an awesome day of fishing with an awesome friend... Super happy Paul has a new PB at 46 inches... And best of all the water temps have dropped making pictures possible in good weather.... The 43 incher was caught during 30km winds... So it never left the water....

had a great day with mercman... we boated 4 musky today... 43...46...49...51.... paul ended up getting a PB twice today... the 51 was a snake tho.... huge head and tiny body... i think the pics say enough... enjoy 46 51 49

after reading this thread i feel so lucky to live where i do... my PBs inclue 53.5 inch musky 12 pound walleye 7.5 pound... 24 inch smallie 36lb 12 oz carp 7lb brown trout ive also caught a gar... pike over 10 pounds... perch over 15 inches... slab crappie over 15 inches... sturgeon pushing 50 pounds... plenty of largemouth over 5 pounds... sheephead over 10 pounds... 100+ walleye in one day and thats all local... outside of this area ive broken 30 pounds on salmon... but a few fish that have eluded me are on my list... Lake Trout... this one bothers me.... cause ive tried several times through the ice... but not with anyone with experienced... not to sound greedy.... but i really want to break 14 pounds on a walleye...

if your that ... frugal... why not take the 30 seconds to remove all your lures? i remove all my baits and clean up the boat on the water before i get back to the launch... ...

well i had to get a few fillets for tomorrow night for a friend coming to fish with me... im thinking no biggy... ill go out tonight and get a few eyes for supper tomorrow... sure enough... wind was 30+km gusting 40+km... yaaaaay...lol so i limped out to a sheltered little honey hole... and sure enough i popped 6 in an hour...all but one were over 3 pounds... man fish love wind... so 2 went in the well and i headed home... was i ever glad i know some sheltered areas to fish... mike

hers a little something that may keep you guys out later this year... we boated 27 walleye this day in late january... the 28th i think... in the boat... launching over ice... fishing within casting distance of the ice edge while ice anglers do their thing...

I thought it was good.... And I imagine over time they'll show different aspects of the GLs

Last year I fished open water all winter... Hoping this year is the same... But realistically... I'm in my boat till Christmas most years.... And back in in march....

I fish in current so it changes spot to spot.... With deep diving cranks Slow current ill go 1.5-2 mph Moderate current around 1 mph Fast current 0.25-0.75
