  11. Hey guys, Hit the Kawarthas this weekend with my buddy Nick to chase some eyes.......we did alot of chasing but not alot of catching...lol....Fished everything you can imagine...The water temps are still low and the weeds are not really up yet...All the spots I fished last year at this time were not ready yet...Impossible to find a good weed edge....we fished for 4 hours with only a few jumbos and crappy hooked...Talked to some other boats and locals and they siad the same thing( the weeds arent up yet and in a few weeks it will be good)....I hope this warm weather sticks around so next weekend is better..... After 4 hours of peppering jigs I managed to hook this beauty 26"... 5lb 11 ounce walleye After that My buddy got one 1 and a half lber and that was it. Was wondering how everyone else has been doing so far this year in the Kawarthas? I might Hit Gbay next weekend for pike until the weeds are up in the kawarthas Goodluck on the water

  23. Hey guys, Spent thursday and friday this week up on Gbay with my girlfriend chasing some pike. We arrived on the lake at 11am on thursday and the weather was great but the winds were out of the east. Started hooking into them right away tho. We fished till 30clock and then headed over to check in at the lodge. I managed 6 or 7 pike and and a few OOS smallies and largies. Heres a few pics from the first day A nice chunky 32'' The next morning was pretty rough. Cold ,windy and raining...Fishing was tough . Talked to two or three other boats and everyone was getting skunked. I still managed to land 6 pike that day but had to work for them. The key was going slow with long pauses. No pics of fish that day because the wather was way to rough for my GF ( camerawomen/netgirl) on the boat. After we checked out from the lodge the next morning we thought we would go out on the boat as it wasnt raining. The first 45 min was nice and calm with no rain and then it got ugly but the fish were on ....In an hour and a half I managed to land 8 pike and loose 2 more and even got one nice aproximate 12lber. heres a few fish. the biggin of the weekend....was only 34'' but was atleast 12lbs....never seen such a fat pike....big shoulders too It was great Pike opener . Lots of fish lots of laughs and even my GF hooked a nice bass...lol....yes I was proud. Have seen the action a bit betteron opener but thats only with sunny skies and winds from the west. With the cold rainy front I was shocked we did so well. All fish were caught on stickbaits. The tally for two days for me was was 20 pike all between 28'' and 34'' and 5 or 6 OOS bass. Can only Imagine how good it would be if the conditions were optimal... Thanks for reading and goodluck on the water
  24. First softwater report for me this season. Its always nice to start out the season playin around with some jumbos. On Thursday Johny Bass and I had the chance to head up to simcoe for some perch action draggin jigs around and boy were they on. You couldnt ask for better weather and there was no shortage of big jumbos. Managed to land over 100 Perch that were over 10" in a few hours....40 fish over 12" and about 15 fish over 13". Heres a few of the fish All the big females lived to swim another day and we kept some 11'' males and smaller females for a fry.Thats about it for perch fishin this season for me . Pike and Walleye opener is right around the corner. Good luck on the water
  25. sweet report man...looks like you had a blast
