  1. thanks guys...hey johny is the line you use trileen XL tho ?...ive used other berkely lines and loved them ...this XL is suppose to be for long casting, has alot of memory and isnt very tough. I think im going to switch to 10lb floro.
  2. thanks Andrey. the best way is keep casting till you catch one to establish what depth they are at. You can also see them in the clear water in simcoe with polerized glaases if it is sunny and calm ...there was to much chop today to do that today tho
  3. Hey guys went out with ICEGUY for a few hours of smallie fishing . Rob always puts me on great lake O salmon fishing and got me my personal best Bow yesterday, I Wanted to get him his personal best smallmouth. The weather man was wrong on the winds AGAIN...what else is new.fished a new spot today and it took about an hour to get the first fish on. I hooked it far from the boat and it came up and showed us that he was a 4+ and spat my jig right back at me ...lol. We worked another new spot and i had two on for a second and they both came off and Rob had a good hit.... we could only get out for a few hours so at this point I told Rob hes got 5 min to get a fish in the boat cause then we are leaving... I guess he works well under pressure...lol. He lands his personal best smallie ....4lbs...good work. . and heres a pic of a boat full of guys that were eager to come over and find out how to catch them cause they were having no luck...we werent having much better luck going 1 for 4 at this point...lol. I was satisfied cause Rob got his PB but a little disapointed I lost 3 fish. Was landing about 90% of my smallies on the old line i was running on my rod.. I switched to berkley XL and have been landing only 60% of my smallies . To much stretch...Im not a fan and i would not recomend it for long distance hooksets...Thats just my opinon tho. We did one more drift cause Rob got his fish and 5 minutes later I got this chunky 5lber. All fish were found today shallower then last week...In about 10 to 12 FOW The last two days were great on the water ...Thanks rob for putting me on my PB rainbow and im glad I could return the favour. Back to school on tuesday so I wont be out much anymore ....lol...maybe twice a week...lol I wish....I think iceguy will be posting a few vids of the action from the passed two days on this thread in a few hours. enjoy....I know i did goodluck on the water

  7. tough day of fihing man...it was the weather forsure that turned them off ...I dont usually do well in the rain....nice report tho and nice jig and pig fish
  8. Hey johny nice skis...three in one day sounds sweet to me.....havent been out for skis on the kawarthas yet this year ...i got to go.....i, jealous....lol
  9. lol...hahaha...i dont think its the same spot ...lol...you would have to be within 10ft of the shoreline to hit a rock there....lol...no shaols in that area that could sting your prop unless you were really drunk. hahaha...but yea the bite was slow ...maybe ill be able to get out tomorrow to hook into a few ...fished a few hours the next day ...slow bite again...i went 1 for 3 ...they were biting light....fish was decent tho about 4lbs...
  10. tried the drop shot but only picked up a few perch johny, fish were landed on old faithfull...lol..deep tho between 17 and 20fow
  11. thanks man...to bad its so brutal today or i would be out on the water
  12. nice fish man
  13. fished the lake briefly...theres some good musky to be had . A spinner bait and a texas rigged plastic worm for largies produced some fish.. Caught a few nice smallies on drop shots and tubes. Im sure you will get some nice fish..
  14. Got out this afternoon for a few hours to see how the fishing would be in this terrible coldfront with eric a fellow ofner..The water temps were down to 69 deg...2 weeks ago it was 81deg. WOW..We knew it was going to be tough. I picked up the first fish in about 18fow workin my jig agressively. It was like october out there.... nice 4lber. . The fish today faught much better then in the 80deg water 2 weeks ago ...good rippers but no jumps...hmmm.. couldnt head over to others spots do to 3 foot rollers... The fish were really turned off due to the coldfront but the sun came out for the last hour and I managed to hook one more fish just under 4lbs. It was stubby like a football tho. Eric had a tough day and the coldfront conditions didnt help the bite , he was great on the net tho. We both had a great time with the fall like conditons but summer aint over yet, i want some more august heat..lol Good luck on the water
  15. nice work johny...good to see you guys still picked up some nice fish in cold front conditions...all the hogs must have pushed deep...
  16. yea i would love to enter a tourny this fall but my boat has a 30merc. not good anough for the big waters of simcoe...would take forever to get from spot to spot and i still need some more experience before i enter a tourny
  17. lol , whole new ball game for sure in the fall but last fall on simcoe was pretty good ...im sure there wil be some hogs in the boat this fall...lol
  18. hey johny, cant really remember where the launch is exactly but if you follow the signs off of 69 it will take u right to the marina...im sure it wont be hard to find...we found it in the dark...lol......by the way just got in from simcoe...went out by myself...only got to fish for about 1.5 hours then the waves went up to 4feet...fished a new spot.. the one i told you that i use to fish when i was a kid....went 1 for 3 ....landed a 3lber.....was really hard landing the fish in 3 foot waves...it was like towing in a fish when your trolling but they were peeling drag at the same time....lol....the two that got away were bigins...saw both fish ..one was probly 4lb and the other was easy over 5....so needless to say i hate wind...hahaha
  19. hey all, iceguy and I hit lake O this morning to get some kings . We left it till last minute to decide if we were going in the morn cause the weatherman was calling for 30 to 50km winds starting soon after 6 am. Rob checked out the radar and a few other weather sites and figured we could get a few hours trolling in before the winds picked up....He was right ...it was a gorgeous morning. I got the first fish at 8am 50 feet down ..nice fish just shy of 20lb. we trolled for an hour with nothing and then bumped into 2 shakers. Right after the shakers rob got this chinook also just under 20lb. we still had calm conditiond and it was 930am. 20 min later a good one hit and poped off. I got the last fish around 1030. a fiesty 11lber. . the weather man kept lots of people off the lake today but it was a beauty. goodluck on the water
  20. sweet report man...nice mixed bag ...
  21. Hey thanks alot guys....have been loving all the great reports you guys have been posting...OFC is truly a great board....good luck on the water Hey misfish im not offended at all, im a young angeler and have alot to learn, And have many years to improve my knowledge, BUT you are stating the obvious bud....have been very consistant on the water lately and love the thrill of the catch more then the competitive aspect of fishing...who knows tho one day you might have to watch out for johny and I at weigh in.....lol
  22. HEY ALL, decided to hit simcoe again with johny bass this passed friday. Originally we were going to take his rig but when he woke up in the 6am his trailer tire was flat...crapppy... I made plans to have my truck in the shop so it was unavailable ....thankgod we both have 2inch balls cause johny towed up my boat and the day wasnt ruined.. we thought we would launch at Boney boats in sutton but when we got there the dude told us that the town of georgina has just made a new rule that it was 30$ for parking and 10 to launch...WOW...thats ridiculous.. so we headed over to sibalds point....at this point johny was a little ticked and i can understand why....I told him all he needed was a nice smallie and he would be happy again. The day started off with some cool temps and cloud cover which we werent to happy about. We both knew that as soon as the temps climb the bite would pick up. First fish was about a half hour into fishing. a 2.5er we were happy to see a fish in the boat early .About ten min later johny saw a bass under the boat so he put his jig right in its face and it couldnt resist..lol a 3.5er couple min later i got one around 2lb. Even tho we got three quick fish johny thought we would have a tough day. I didnt , i knew johny and I could find some bigger fish. We left that spot and headed over to a spot johny fished last week. He saw lots of big bass but couldnt get then to bite. We didnt see one fish and we fished the spot for over an hour....I always say you never know , fish swim and therefor move. I saw a nice point not to far from where we were and opted that we give it a shot. We get there and it was much different from our other spots. it droped from 6 to 20 pretty quick. Johny loves thowing big ski spinner baits , he says he catches everything on them. I was scepticle. His first cast into 20fow and he hooks a 5lber..I was shocked about ten minutes later Johny gets another 5lber on a jig, our usual presentation Now he was happy....lol but i still needed to hook into something big and about 20 min later it happened. My PB smallie 6lbs. What a hog we worked the spot peppering it with jigs and soon after i got this nice 4.6lber. This one faught like crazy . we thought it was 7+ for the first couple minutes heres the line ripper soon after we left that spot and tried one on the way back to the launch. We worked deeper water at this spot then last week as that was the pattern and I picked up this nice 4.6. Talk about clones...lol johny and I hooked a couple more smaller bass and then i got johnys lunch...lol hahah we did one more drift as we were satisfied at this point I picked up this 4lber and johny got one about1.5 and that was it . The fish were holding in deeper water this today and they still wanted my fav jig that worked so well for us last week. It was a great day on the water ...lots of laughs and lots of fish . What else can you ask for.... the count was 7 fish for me and 5 for johny...now we are 2-2....lol ....next time outs an important one.... we calced that our best five fish weight was 25.2 lbs in tourny hours..now we know where we stand.Hope you enjoyed the report
  23. hey guys , got a call wed evening from johny bass . He was on simcoe and siad he found the smallies and for me to come down. He was on fire catching 20 smallies in 2.5 hours and atleast 10 were over 4lbs...so needless to say i was up there as soon as possible the following afternoon...This day was a scorcher at 44 with the humidity and almost no wind. we started fishing at around 130 pm . we could see huge smallies averywhere but they wouldnt take our lures . Johny assured me that they would turn on . And they did. Johny got the first fish at 3 oclock. a nice 3.5lber and two casts later a nice 4.6er two casts later..lol.4lber three quick fish....i needed one bad....lol...5 min later got this nice 4.1 then it was johnys turn AGAIN...LOL CANT PEACE TOGETHER THE ORDER AFTER THAT...LOL me with another nice 4lber and another just under 4 ...JOhny had a couple more 4lbers and then the wind picked up and made it hard to work our baits the way the fish wanted them....a storm was coming in . we saw a fish under the boat ...johny jokingly started agresivly working his jig under the boat and another fish slamed it.....he got his 5lber ...right on the dot soon after that the storm pushed us off the lake......in total we landed 12 or 13 bass in about 3.5 hours. johny got 8 or 9 and i got 4 ....hahaha you got me this time mr. bass .... I had the hot stck at Quinte and you had it at simcoe....lol....it was a great day on the water and thanks again Johny for taking me out......
  24. was on a lake last week that was right beside lake of bays in huntsville and theticket was chartruse tubes riged weedless . Lots of wood . hot depth turned out to be 8 to 13 feet. good luck man ...lots of smaller smallies to pick through in that area.
