  7. thanks guys! it was really a nice weekend despite the fact that other species would not bite... @Machine57...we fished a nice spot on Little Marten where they had the ice huts and then we went on the Big Marten. Ice was solid 20 inches except the bridges area, we stayed away from that. surely there is good fish on this lakes but i guess you have to be there when they bite...
  8. Hey guys! We've been last weekend to Marten Lake. Had an awesome time. The guys at Beverland Camp, Albert and Dorothy are very good hosts.Fishing was OK. We were not picky and went for anything that might bite. Anyway, we had only lake trout, because any other fish wouldn't bite. One of my buddies even had a underwater camera. We could see the fish coming by our minnow and just swim away. Very nice size walleye and whitefish in that lake but they would not bite at all. We even hoped for some pike in the shallower areas but nothing. Here is one of the lakers that we caught over the weekend. http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Ice%20Fishing/photo.jpg Cheers! Gino

  10. Hey guys! We're heading towards Marten Lake on Friday for a weekend of ice fishing. Is anybody on the forum with some ice fishing experience in that area? Got some input from a few members on the forum, but I want to see if someone has been recently there. We're staying at Beaverland Camp and will fish both lakes, Big Marten and Little Marten. Thanks! Gino

  21. Hi everyone! Me and my buddies tried Quinte couple of weeks ago and we got skunked. So...we went back this week and it was good. We fished all day north of big island and got some really nice jumbos. But no walleye...t'was almost time to go home, about 5:00 pm and we tried everything...I switched on a Williams whitefish golden spoon as my last resort, tipped with a minnow and VOILA! It was a 31 inches and almost 10 lb beauty! Nice way to finish a day! Next fishing trip is going to be up north, Marten River..has anybody been there recently? how was the fishing? any input will be appreciated...thanks! Cheers! Gino

  25. Hi guys! It's been almost a week since I've been on Detroit river for walleye fishing. Together with my buddies Cas and Robert and with Jon Bondy, an well know professional angler from Windsor area, we had a blast on Saturday may 7. Weather was awesome, sunny and 18 C, no wind from early morning to mid afternoon. We had continuous action from early as 7:00 am until way pas mid day. We where targeting walleye and we had an fantastic day..16 walleye in less then 8 hours. We where jigging in 15-25 ft of water, with strong current but we had Jon as a guide and his jigging technique for rivers worked awesome. This guy really know what he's doing. Thank you Jon Bondy for an awesome day of fishing! http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Detroit%20river%20walleye%20may%202011/DSC01284.jpg http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Detroit%20river%20walleye%20may%202011/DSC01300.jpg http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Detroit%20river%20walleye%20may%202011/DSC01301.jpg http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Detroit%20river%20walleye%20may%202011/DSC01307.jpg http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Detroit%20river%20walleye%20may%202011/DSC01308.jpg http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Detroit%20river%20walleye%20may%202011/DSC01314.jpg http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Detroit%20river%20walleye%20may%202011/DSC01315.jpg http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Detroit%20river%20walleye%20may%202011/DSC01321.jpg http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu58/gino197/Detroit%20river%20walleye%20may%202011/DSC01322.jpg
