Is this a fishing form or a fishing person (being politically correct here)! A fishing form should be limited to fishing (roughly 15% of the threads here). A fishing person form should be open for a wide variety of discussions on a wide variety of topics. We are people, we love, dream, think, discuss and sometimes we disagree but we always respect others opinions. Sometimes I think threads get locked when they shouldn't but this isn't my board and I have a choice of coming here or not. If you don't like the way things are run, you have the right to say so and you also have the right to go somewhere else. I know there have been a few times I have taken a break but in the long run I find that for any negitive there are plenty of positives.

If they don't deliver vote them out? Show me one party that has been in power in the last 50 years that has been: true to their word, efficient, accountable, and un corrupt and I'll vote for them!
-
This isn't about ANY political party, the point is no matter who we have elected in the past every one of them has done the same thing in the end. They have all spent our money like there is no tomorrow on things that really don't matter to most of us and when the money is gone they just raise our taxes or create new ones. Every one of them has made sure that their pockets are well lined and that they have lavish pensions. As much as they seem to fight between parties they still make sure that every one of them get taken care of because next year they might not be the one elected. So please lets not start pointing the finger at any one party, the thing they all have in common is they are politicians.

Well, I still doubt that it is the coils. If you want to take a drive up to Lindsay I'll help you check it out.
-
Well, they will just give them more and we will have to pay for it!

No spark, has to be a short in the kill switch wires or coils are gone. My bet would be a short in the kill switch wire. When you say no spark, how did you test for it? You need to test for a short in the kill switch wire. There might also be a safety where if the motor is in gear it won't start. That would be my second thing to check.

Just watched a program on TV called "Operation Smile". It is all about these wonderful Dr.s that go to places like Ruanda and operate on kids with cleft lips and pallets. What a wonderful thing for these Dr.s to do and for the kids. $240.00 will cover the cost of one surgery. I really have to commend all involved. My only question is why does the same surgery cost over $24,000.00 here in Canada?

IF Horse racing is so needed then it should be self sustaning. Why should I have to work to support something I don't use, and don't care about. Now I have had horse meat before and it was quite good. If raising horses to race isn't profitable, then raise them for meat. We do it for pigs, cows, chickens, what is the differance?

Just heard on the radio yesterday that Kathleen Wynne has just donated $400,000,000.00 (yes, 400 million) of our tax dollars to the horse racing industry. There has been horse racing since there were horses. The industry can't sustain itself! Why in the world would she spend any of our hard earned money to support an industry that clearly isn't a necessity, that the majority of the people don't want, need, use or can afford. If I wanted to support horse racing I'd go to the race track. The very next thing I heard was that the food bank is begging for donations to help feed people. Don't you think that $400,000,000.00 could have put a lot of food on a lot of people's plates. I guess she thinks horses are more important than people!

What is the differance, it doesn't matter who you vote for they all do the same thing! They lie, break promisses, raise our taxes and give themselves lavish pensions and nothing ever gets done about it. There is no accountability, if they get caught stealing they just pay it back and all is forgiven because they are all doing it. I keep hearing "if you don't vote you deserve what you get!" I have voted in every election since I was old enough to vote. Different party names but it is all the same game!

When my boat house got destroyed this summer Ron was one of the first to contact me and offered to bring his equipment over here to help me out. I have had the pleasure of meeting him a few times now and it is always a pleasure! Good job there Skipper!

CTC has the Garmin 44LM (life time maps) on special this week for $139.00. I have had Garmin for years now and find it very helpful but not always 100% accurate. The "fastest time" isn't always the fastest time but it is really good at getting me where I want to go.

I too have a Polaris! 450 sportsman bought it new in 2006 and it has been a excellent machine! As above, I didn't want it for racing, just getting me around. Whatever machine you do get, make sure you get a winch installed. If you are going to be using it in snow, ground clearance is a big thing, if you get snow packed up under the skid plate you will be doing a lot of digging, once the tires can't get traction you won't be going anywhere. I also prefer belt drive for going out on the lakes and things. If you are running on a lake and hit a drift it can put a lot of torque on your drive system, a belt will slip a bit and reduce the stress. Kawartha ATV Club would also be a good contact, they can help you with all kinds of information and would be a good way to find out which dealers to stay away from, who will give you the best prices and service. They also have lots of rides every year which would be a good way to learn some of the local trails. The last and most important thing is service whatever machine you buy make sure you can get good local service. Ask to see their service department, is it clean, well stocked. Then Google them and see if there are any customer reviews.

I hate to even ask but how many hundred wheel alignments are you going to have to do just to pay for the thing? You are right though quality tools sure do make life easier! -
Very very well written post! I have done a lot of training with bird dogs but this post outlines the basics of training any field dog! Most of my experience is with GSPs which are a versitile field dog so it is a little more complicated but if you follow the advice above you will get good results. I would consider contacting any beagle clubs in your area, they may be able to help you with the tracking aspect of the training.

X2 on that one. Excellent service and workmanship!

No, what I meant was where were you fishing when you hit the rock? I have only hit one in Sturgeon Lake in 12 years and that was just off Sturgeon Point when I tried to go between the red marker and the shore.
-
can't say if it will last but what I want to know is where did you hit the rock?

It is good to hear that Sean is getting the kind of care and support he deserves and needs! Time, prayers and the love and support of family and friends will all go a long way to helping this fine young man on his journey to recovery. -
Well, if you tell me what spots you have already claimed I'll tell you which ones were mine. BTW, that land in Florida, I'll send you a bank draft if you promise to take out the cost of the land and send me the balance by wire transfer.

Well, enjoy your trip and good fishing!

I really appreciate all the help guys and hope I can return the favor some day! I have a few options to consider but by next weekend I'll be well on my way to catching anyone that decides to help themselves to our property without asking!

Thank you all so much for the offers of tackle, the support, and the laughs! I went in to CTC this morning and thay had a Plano 7771 tackle box on special, I really like their products and their customer support and the price was really good so I picked that up. Did some shopping for a few of the basics, there wasn't much on special but I do have enough to get back out on the water again for now. The rest will just have to come in time, perhaps it was the fishing gods telling me I didn't need so much tackle anyway LOL.

Notes are being taken, believe me!
