That was exactly my reasoning too, it's like a fire extinguisher, their good to have but hopefully we never have to use them.
They're pretty handy for weather reports too.

The big motor is not a 4 stroke its a 1998 evinrude 2 stroke 90hp
I changed the lower end oil before winter and also fogged the motor. I looked again this morning and it doen't seem to dripping as ba, but I'll chech again tonight
Its dripping around the where the prop is , The oild I changed the lower and in is clear oil this is Black Oil
Sounds like fogging oil to me, go fishing.

Oil ''DRIPPING '' from the exhaust on a four stroke.......No Way !!!
I would say you possibly overfilled the lower end or its leaking from the gasket on one of the plugs..or not tight enough like the other dude said
The gear oil on my Merc is somewhat dark .........right from the jug
I guess you don't fog your 4 strokes for winter storage then?
I would start at the exhaust and then move my way down the leg.
It could befrom his oil change as well. If not from these two spots then check gear oil caps then prop seal.
Remember oil runs down hill.

It is really dark oil almost Black
It's most likely from the exhaust, no need to worry.

No big deal though as you need liquid water to run it in.

I bought a set of Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor AT's for my truck and they were decently priced and got great reviews. They cost me $1,000 installed and balanced here in Yellowknife so I would bet they would be $100 or more less down south. I'm very impressed with them so far. I have used them in snow, ice, dirt roads, climbing a granite outcrop and off road with good results.

Aren't the pontoons on the bush planes welded not to mention the pontoons on pontoon boats ? ? ?
Pontoons on every float plane I have ever seen have been riveted.
Pontoons on pontoon boats are welded and are thicker guage aluminum.
All the aluminum ocean boats are welded but the aluminum is much thicker than the Tracker boats.

We use a large snap swivel, attached to a 6-8ft length of 20-30lb mono and attach our lure. This does the same trick no?
When downrigging, your line is in a bow no matter how much slack is removed, where the bow ends up, is where your swivel should stop.

Yep, same here.
The cheaters put a lot of fish in the boat for me over the years.
2 snap swivels and a 6-8 foot chunk of 20-30# mono and you're good to go.
Set your line at depth snap a lure on one end of the cheater, snap the other on the main line and toss it out behind the boat. It will drop down about 1/2 way to the cannon ball.

Do you have to register a 14 foot boat in ontario if it's not on a trailer and is in the back of a truck?
The only reason you need to register is if you are running a motor bigger than 10HP.
Just because it's on a trailer you don't need to register, just plate the trailer.

Well, in choppy weather, we use the bailing bucket. Always works in a pinch, forgive the term.
Yep, that's what we all use at the lodge too.
A couple of coffee tins and yer good to go!!!

I have never stayed there but have caught my biggest bass (7#) and biggest musky (53 1/2") within sight of the lodge. Plus the waleye fishing is good also.

When I seat the bearings I snug and loosen the nut while turning the wheel. This does a better job of seating the bearings than just tightening it up.

Someone was telling me the other day that in Ca. they must use some kind of safety valve that would have prevented this.
That rig in the gulf had the same safety valve, it failed!!!
There needs to be multiple backups in order to prevent this from re-occuring and until new protocols are put in place all new drilling should be put on hold.

Yes folks, this is a man’s barbeque. That’s Tim Kowalec firing up Chrysler Group's one-of-a-kind HEMI-powered grill at an event to announce the top five finalists in the company’s "What Can You HEMI?" contest. Until the event, the HEMI engine was only found in Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicles. With the power and torque of the 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI engine, the grill can cook 240 HEMI dogs in three minutes and is covered by more than 330 square feet of steel. The contest involved people sending in concepts for machines that could be powered by a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine. Five of the best ideas became semi-finalists and Chrysler engineers then built working models of the concept machines. The event was won by a Hemi-powered trike with a custom 4-foot wheel (bottom left image) but some serious machinery filled the placings – such as the Hemi Snowblower (centre) and Hemi paper shredder.
It was the winning entry in a contest entitled “What Can You HEMI?”
The five finalists included a Snowblower, Ice resurfacer, a Merry-go-round and the world’s most powerful Paper Shredder. We have pictures of all of them inside.

Is it just me, or is Saturday always the windiest, crappiest day of the week???? Figured it had something to do with the fact that it is my only day off during our spring busy season.
Got the 14 fter last September...starting to think I should have been looking for an 18 fter.
Doesn't matter how big your boat is you always need a couple of extra feet.

The E rated tires shoud not be purchased for general purpose use. The only negative reviews I saw out of over 300 I read were people who bough the E rated tires and weren't hauling an in bed camper or 5th wheel. The complaints were a hash ride. Every single review I read about the C rated tires was glowing and there wasn't a single complaint. If you do need the E rated for heavy hauling make sure to air them down when not hauling to improve the ride.
