    Craig Anderson

    Chris Neil

    Nick Foligno

    Derek MacKenzie

    Guillaume Latendresse

  2. I agree. Way too glossy. Can you ask them to back off on that?

Other than that Advanced do an amazing job.

Still thinking of having my 52 in ski done in replica.

I'm sure they can do a matte or semi gloss finish if you ask for it.

I have a couple of replicas I want done just need the $$$$ to pay for them. Them biguns cost a pretty penny. :whistling:

  3. Got a Merc 4hp 2 stroke on my 18 footer and I top out at about 7mph (hull speed).

I don't use it for trolling that is what I use my big motor for (90hp 2 stroke 1991 model).

It's there incase I have an issue with my big motor when out on the big lake.

"IF" You get it to the Lake How are Ya gonna get it out there?

    Rick

If he doesn't have a quad or sled he's goona have to build a Smitty sled in order to be able to get it out there. Google Smitty sled for more info.

I tried hauling my Trekker II by hand once (there was two of us) through 8"-12" of snow. We hauled it about 1/2km to where we wanted to fish. It was freaking exhausting!!!!

  5. Any Ideas of rosters? Lets hope they dont settle the lockout this week...Sounds like a great time to be had!

Paper said that the roster will be confirmed after Thursdays game in Thunder Bay.

So hopefully they print it in next Fridays paper. Though it doesn't really matter.

  6. Simon

    That stance is pretty skinny.

I thought you may have been mistaken but checked the site and it is indeed 32" on the Tundra and the Skandic isn't much wider at 35 and change.

If it were me, I would get one of those Yamaha Venture Lites. ;)

They have a 43" stance (the same as my Venture GT). Much more stable and I haven't really had any issues in the bush getting around with the extra width.

  7. nuff said.

I don't take mine out either. 4 to 5 charges a winter after a 'cold snap' and they are good to go. a week prior to the spring launch they go on the trickle charger the whole time and never an issue here.

Mind you my Johnson 115 Faststrike is over 12 years old and still to se a replacement impeller like the Merc guys need to do very often.... :jerry:

I'm a Merc guy and my 90 is 22 years old and has had the impeller replaced twice. :)

  8. I think it will be a great sled for what you want it for.

Good long and wide track for off trail and a nice spot to carry your ice fishin' stuff on the back. :thumbsup_anim:

I have talekd to some of my Alaskan friends that have or know people with ACE600 Skidoos and they have been very happy with them. They have even been able to start them in very cold temps (much colder than my Yamaha) without having to plug them in.

I would get the ACE600 motor (like we discussed over PM's) ;)

  9. Just found this info online -

"In a partially discharged state, the electrolyte in a lead acid battery may freeze. At a 40% state of charge, electrolyte will freeze if the temperature reaches approximately 16.0°F. The freezing temperature of the electrolyte in a fully charged battery is -92.0°F."

So, it sounds like if the batteries are kept fully charged there is no problem. I don't have an on-board charger so mine come inside.

    Exactly.

It drops to -50C at times here.

Which is well above the freezing point of a fully charged battery.

And with the onboard plugged in at all times it will never discharge to a vulnerable state.

Before I got the onboard the batteries came in the house for the winter.

My buddy keeps his boat here at my place as well but he doesn't have an onboard charger so his battery is in my house where it can stay nice and warm. ;)

  10. I leave all three of my batteries in the boat and the onboard charger plugged in all winter.

If the batteries need a charge the charger comes on automatically and does it's thing.

I don't have to worry about dicharging or freezing batteries and when spring rolls around I just roll the boat out of it's shelter and start her up.
