Great read.

TSC stores will have all sorts of in house sales. Not advertised, and ending when convenient for the store ( as in when inventory levels are acceptable) We do purchase farm supplies there, and know that you grab the deal the day you see it. The local manager told us that many of the sales are at the discretion of head office. Stuff moves too quickly, they just take the item off the floor.

Got to love the Christmas season. The sweet aromas of breads, candies and cookies as they're being baked. Put up a couple of mounds of shortbreads and butterscotch snaps tonight. The exact same cookies my Gram and my mother always made. Good recipes always stand the test of time.
Sorry for the lack of pics. Me and p--bucket aren't getting along too well.

Afternoon works for me, unless the bite is on.

Nothing special here tonight. Sunday dinner with the clan was simple. Dry coated fresh perch in the fryer with mounds of chips. Side dish of nachos smothered in salsa and melted cheese.

That's a great deal. Ordered mine.

Had a few hours this afternoon. Just enough time to catch me a dozen more.
-
How many? Good size? You're keeping me in suspense!
Got ourselves a good 2 dozen and some. Nothing like lake jumbos, but respectable 9-10" inland fish.
First off, nice haul Bruce and time with family. Second off, I taught my boys how to do fish. They would stop by and show me thier catch. Oh btw, can you clean,,,,,,,,,,,,PLEASE.
We both know, we like to show off our knife skills. plus there was a 90/10 split. Ya, 10 for me. LOL
In the end, the fish stay here at the house. We will have a nice big fry with all the kids and grandkids under one roof later this week. One of Grampa"s rule is everyone shares a meal together every week. Everybody but the Mrs. loves fish.

OK time for a decision: DEC 29 at Wild Wings on Centennial Parkway at 7pm. Be there or don't be there. I will be.
Sounds good

Was a beautiful morning to be out fishing. Roped the son and daughter in for a perch hunt, and we were well rewarded fishing both the Welland canal and the Welland river from shore. The only problem is that I get stuck cleaning all the fish ( Funny. I vaguely remember my Gramma complaining about the exact same thing many years ago).

I hate this post!!!
Every time I see it I see Welland Panties!!!!
I expect to open it up to see scantily clad Niagara area coeds!!!!!
Not a post about panfish!!!
That's what happens when you live in the far north

Definitely an under-rated fish to target. Definitely not the biggest in the pond, but always a lot of fun to catch. Glad you had fun.
Once you start finding those 8-10" gills on ultralite, it's a blast.

The Ugli bunch is in.

I'm glad today was a wet one. Temperatures came up enough to get the big sunfish feeding. The daughter and I spent 4 hours along the river hitting on schools of bluegills and pumpkinseeds. They did not want artificial minnows this time. They wanted good old fashioned dew worms. There wasn't another soul around either.

West Lincoln Memorial is actually under the Hamilton Health Sciences umbrella and system and a teaching hospital for McMaster, my wife and I are sent to Mac for cat scans and specialty stuff, I don't see the StKitts hospital affecting the decision.
West Lincoln was left with the choices of merging with Niagara Health, merging with with Hamilton Health, or closing. The province was not going to spend money on rebuilding a small hospital. The same thing was done to the other small hospitals in the Niagara region. Just ask people in Ft Erie, Pt Colborne or Welland. And those hospitals and their communities did not get a choice.

Not where I live. We were less than a year from breaking ground on a new West Lincoln Hospital until she put a stop to it.
West Lincoln was doomed the day they announced plans for the new St Catharines hospital. At the time nobody wanted to believe that. West Lincoln's board knew and kept their mouths shut, and kept fundraising for a new hospital in spite of that. That way they kept their nice plumb positions. That plan you get to thank McGuinty for. Wynne was merely the messenger of a done deal.

Walking into PA is like walking into a tackle shop. You need a lot of self control.
