I have to echo Smokey on this. It's the first stop on my favorites list whether I log in or not and it's the last one I'll go to before leaving the computer.Like a good book it's hard to put down (or turn off) and I hope we continue to enjoy each others stories, pics, trials and tribulations for years to come. MERRY CHRISTMAS OFC Kerry

My old 1972 Starcraft with the Electric shift 50 HP Evinrude is still serving me well and I don't have a mortgage on it. I only went thru 4 tanks of gas this year so I guess the OL' 50 will be good for another year. Kerry

I just deleted it from my favorites and added it back on and now it's loading up like normal. Kerry

Yeah it is Brian by about a foot.Hope it levels out by new years. Kerry

Here's a couple of shots from both sides of the lake. From the Stepan side launch (west side) From the airport side (east side) Notice the ice (water level) is still high.Hope the levels drop during this thaw and let the ice set up at normal levels when it gets really cold. BTW for those thinking about it ---STAY OFF--- it aint safe by a long shot. Kerry

I agree but we'll definately revisit this subject again about the middle of Feb when it really starts piling up. Maybe saner heads will rule this year, who knows. Kerry

That's the sled I got last year.It was fun ridin' last year as opposed to the old cougar which had less than half the suspension.I'm hoping for her maiden voyage this year to be at the forest if we get enough snow. I'm hoping we'll have good ice by new years -sounds good brian. I'll find out when it's good at the airport side. That's usually my first trip location to the lake. Kerry

Good for you icewalker.Keep them reports comin! Kerry

I remember that incident too Wayne. The lake had just frozen over Kerry

Our end of Simcoe had some ice at fisherman's cove even before the deep freeze the other night Brian but it isn't anything to write home about yet.I have a buddy that lives on St John who I haven't spoke with yet but will let me know when it's good at the north end.I assume it's much the same as cooch right now and as antsy as I am to try out that new Clam it can wait until the new year.I'm also hoping for enough snow for my wife and I to stay at Haliburton Forest between Christmas and New Years.Right now it looks like mother nature is just pulling our strings. Gotcha Wayne.I'm still a bit confused as to how some pictures...like mine come up with the click on window and others are full in the post.Am I taking pics with too high a resolution(4mp&3.5mp) to post .Should I knock it down to 3 or 2mp to get the normal pic that you don't have to click on.These are the first picture posts I've done so I'm feeling my way thru. Kerry Oh ya,Stanton's plane is sitting there at the house with the tires on still.

Well I was by on Hwy 11 yesterday and didn't get a pic so this morning I thought I'd take a couple of coochy! from Hwy 11 and from the park looking towards Big Chief Island. Hopefully by the New Year things will be safe. Kerry

Oh I know it's likely to be gone shortly but I had to post it for us ice 'Wishermen'.I was going to add another pic of cooch this morning but I don't have enough space? to add it.I'll make another topic. Kerry

Just so you know cityfisher the Fish Trap Pro now comes with a zippered front door as well as the flip up feature. As well, the new model also has a rear zippered door which can be joined to another unit back to back. The seat is really comfy and and and .........damn! I think I wet myself I'm getting so excited. Kerry Oh the same applies to the guide model too.

Would love to do the same and maybe in a few short years it'll be a reality. Kerry

Nice pics guys. I was going to say the same thing fishdevil. My buddy in Toronto used to get me to come down and go out at the pickering plant with him in FEB/MARCH.That outflow had everything and was a hoot.Don't know if you can even get near there now.The hardest part was getting the truck unstuck at Frenchman's bay pulling the boat out in that sand. mistyriver1- I second Ron as I also have an Arctic Cat Panther.2up long track. I'll give you an idea on the cost: 2004 Panther 570 fan cooled,3800miles.....$3995+taxes last year License sticker needed....$15 bucks Insurance with no collision $300.... with add $600 more [Mandatory even on the lake.] Trail sticker $180 before Dec 1st $230 after The 900 odd miles of trail riding and ice fishing-PRICELESS Personally if you are using for ice-fishing mostly stick with a fan cool as all you'll worry about is the sliders. I never had an issue as the most I travelled on the ice at one time was about 4 miles up cooch and I didn't have any problems with mine. The great part with the 2ups are they have the rack on back which is free storage space. Good Luck in your choice. Kerry

Not really a lot to adjust Clampet. For walleye and perch/crappie with small lures/baits leave the top arm loose enough to swing up and down.Adjust the spring at the midpoint of the beam to keep the arm at about level.Loosen the reel for freeplay. When you set your bait at depth bend the flag over against the backside of the spool. When a fish hits it will pull down and when the arm won't travel any further the flag goes off and the spool allows line to come off.You can bend the metal ends of the tip-up UP or DOWN to accentuate the jigging effect. It's your choice as to how much or how little.Generally I set low with the metal end bent down so that it will jig UP with some wind.Bear in mind that holes can freeze quick and your line must be free for any jigging action to occur. If you fish for Pike with larger baits, just tighten all the arms and loosen the spool so it has a bit of friction.Set your flag the same way. When a pike takes it has happened to me where if the spool is too loose the line backlashes and jams.If not for tying off to a pail or the auger I would have lost everything. Hope this helps you. Kerry

HA HA!! First time I've seen it.Can't be too new as the Taco Bell has been gone for about two years I think.Surprised they got away with the argo in the park but then all the cops here reside at Timmies anyway.Good video. Kerry
