Dave, it's beyond repair I know exactly where it is... and would be able to retrieve it at ice out but the drill bit broke at the collar that is still attach to the handle Next season will be looking at purchasing a new one -
Thanks Dave!!! Will keep that in mind I'm done this season and will be hunting down for a new one next season for sure

Just to follow up on my other thread and to tell to story of my wonderful time I had yesterday... Well, haven't been out much this season compared to previous years... 3 times total Not normal for me First 2 outings, came back with white stripes for my efforts but yesterday was determine to put an end to my negative streek... what I didn't know was how the day was going to unfold So I'm up bright and early, 5h30am, on the road by 6h00am and got to destination 7h30am... It was beautiful out there with sunny skies and no wind -10C at the time and getting warmer Started to scout the area where I usually setup as I'm walking onto the ice... a few holes here & there but none where I usually setpup... so I started to drill my hole... about 4" of snow was on top of the ice... got busy drilling and about 40 - 45 sec into it, I get thru I give another 1/2 turn and push down to brake the little bit left and then proceed to pull on the handle... huh tough... pull again and WAMMO!!! Left with handle in hand At this point could not believe it and then came the fancy words that cannot be displayed here... but it was a great mix So now, I'm faced with an unusable auger, and not sure if I can drop a line in that hole I started to remove the slush from it to get a better picture, get my jigging rod out, drop a buckshot as a last resort and hope for the best Well it turns out, the spoon goes down to bottom and started to jigging But it wasn't working So then, decided to change presentation every 15 minutes or so to see if I could get a hookup.... NOT Things I tried from the arsenal I had was: 1/4oz Buckshot, 1/4oz jig with grub tipped with minnow head, dead sticking salties, micro jig with Gulp fish fry, Micro tube on a tiny jig with Gulp grub (twister tail), salties again on a spoon, half a salties (head) on a hook.... NOTHING WOULD WORK So by 10h30am, I called it a day out of frustation and some very unpleasant choice of words So I made this little video of my ordeal... choice of music is a little iffy but hope it's OK by the mods Enjoy! Oh you're some funny dude Dave 4' is a lot of ice Over here, haven't seen the ice any thicker in the last 3 - 4 years. That's what happens when a lot of snow falls over the winter
-
Yeah B... Wish I had a backup plan Ice is thick this year with multi layers of black and white Nothing like last year
-
Thanks Christopher!!! Will definitely look those up for sure Gino, you were lucky to be able to drill 3 holes... I was drilling thru 24"+ of ice yesterday and when I got thru, guess the flemsy piece of aluminium that holds the 6" bit let go and was left with the upper part when I pull it out This at 7h30am it happen.... left 2 hours later since they were not biting

Mr. Blizzard, I have a homemade sauce recipe for baby back ribs that's just so good Preparation time is easy.... One important thing to remember is to remove the thin membrane on the under side of the rack length wise... cut it in 2 and boil them first in a cooking pot with a little salt. You will see a skim of fat on the surface (greyish looking), wait till it dissipate a little and remove from the boiling water and prep the sauce. This way the oil and browning steps are not necessary This will give you a "fall off the bones rack of ribs" Ingredients:· 3 to 4 pounds spareribs, cut in serving-size pieces · 2 tablespoons oil Optional if searing in skillet · 1 1/2 cups tomato juice · 1/2 cup chopped celery · 1/2 cup chopped onion · 1/3 cup vinegar · 1/4 cup ketchup · 2 tablespoons brown sugar · 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce · 2 teaspoons paprika · 1 teaspoon chili powder · 1 teaspoon salt · 1 teaspoon dry mustard · 4 tablespoons molasses · chop garlic to taste Preparation:Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat; brown ribs, turning to brown all sides. (not necessary if boiling them) Transfer (boiled ribs) to a large casserole or baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients, use a cuisinart hand food processor to liquify and pour over ribs. Cover with foil or lid and bake at 250° for 2 hours, basting occasionally. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer. Serves 4 to 6. I also make a vegetable chicken fried rice to go with this TJunkie

-
Great job Chad Congrats on your PB Nice junk of gold
-
Awesome Ernie Can I borrow your auger for tomorrow? That's some dandy perch
-
Sounds like a great idea Wayne but I think this auger as expired it's use and next year will be looking for a better component build... I hate plastic parts they put on some of the stuff they put on the shelves... I think this one was a mishap on my part I'll look very closely on my next purchase from now on
-
Simon, if it's from Photobucket, they don't work, only as link.... If it's from Youtube, have no idea
-
No worries Davey lol

Yeah Christopher... wish I had backup this morning! Davey, I could if I had the other piece... it went down to the bottom
-
Yes Rob, 1 out of 5 but still... Tried every Gulp product I had and even salties, changing every 20 min or so and not even a sniff These pokadots this year are a hard bite
-
Yep, you are correct B... it let go after I had drill my first hole Cheap Walmart product The drill bit went down into the abyss Leaving me with only one hole I think all of the wild life in the bush heard the terrible words that came out of my mouth You won't believe how many came out
-
