Went fishing today on maple lake in the haliburton area. We were mainly fishing for musky. At around ten o'clock I had a fish on, right away I thought it was a musky since we were told there were no pike in this lake. When the fish finally revealed itself I couldn't believe that it was a northern. It wasn't what I was targetting but it is a personal best for me so i was happy. In the picture my dad is holding the fish. I regret not taking a picture with it but I wanted to get it in the back in the water. I forgot to measure it but i think its a respectable northern. matthew

hey Victor, I was also up there saturday fishing. I think I might have saw you fishing. The bite was tough with the cold front and the rain and wind made it very unconfertable. You guys caught some nice fish considering the conditions. We only managed 1 pike around 32 inches and two small bass. It was a bit of a disapointing outing since we usually do quite well in dalyrmpal. Sorry about your rod and reel.

One of my favorite lakes to fish. I usually have luck casting jigs and spinnerbaits towards the shore. There are alot of small pike and big bass. I hope you have a good time. I might be heading up there this saturday so maybe we'll see each other.

I went to BPS tuesday and was a little disapointed that the were sold out of the musky mania bucktails and had very few jakes left. I thought that they would have alot more of these lures for a week long sale. I ended up buying watever jakes were left and picked up a few other bucktails. Does anyone know if they would be getting more of these products in before the sale finishes? Matt

well got back monday morning. The weather there was great didnt rain once. The fishing wasnt the best but i only gave it a shot a few times. I would of went out on a boat with a guide but the water was kind of rough on most days. Some local people didnt recommend it. As for the resort it self it was worst resort i have been to in terms of service and the way the rooms looked. The food was good. I found out that they are renovated the resort this spring which is very necessary. Overall i had a great time with the people around me and made the best out of it. I am happy that i'm back in time for the spring classic. lol. Matt

thanks everyone for the replys. I know its a lower end resort but we just wanted to go somewhere last minute and this was the only place. We usually go to over 4+ resorts but my aunt and mom dont want to come so itll only be my dad and uncle so i guess it'll be alright. Shawn thanks for telling me what to do with the reels. Sirfish I'm pretty sure were not in a loft romm but i we will definitly change rooms if we are. Thanks for letting us know. Sirfish how was the fishing when you were there. I am going to puerto plata in a week and I am going to be staying at the paradise Beach Resort. In the pictures it shows that it has a pier. I want to do some fishing off it but I dont really know what baits to use. I was thinking of bringing some spoons,rapalas and maybe get some shrimp. Has anyone fished in the Domincan from a beach or pier? How did you do? What fish would I mostly catch from the beach or pier? How often do I have to rinse my reels with freshwater? I would appreciate any advice? Thanks. Matt

thanks, I think I'm going to get it fixed if its around 30 bucks. I'm just not to sure where I;m going to bring it. Matt

I found a daiwa procaster PM33SH and I took it apart but didnt know what I was doing and when I put it back together it had more problems then before. I'm wondering if it is worth it to get it fixed. I would like to get some opinions on this reel and if its worth fixing. Thanks Matt

i use both braid and mono. It depends what im fishing for and what technique i'm using.

I want to buy a round baitcaster for Christmas. I want to buy either the C4 or the D5 Abbassadeur. I'll be using this reel mostly for musky fishing. I have heard good and bad things on both reels. The D5 has the smart mag but it doestnt have mechanical cast control and the C4 doestnt have the smartmag but it has the mechanical cast control knob. I dont have that much experience with baitcasters so any feedback on these two reels will be greaty apppreciated. Matt

its a 1992 25 Yamaha. As we were fogging the engine we saw water coming out from where the lower unit connects to the upper. Do you guys think there is something wrong with the seal?

My dad and I were putting away the motor and noticedwater squirting out from wher the lower unit and transom meet. Its this normal? Thanks for any suggestions
