  1. Not me but I have a buddy who can
  2. I need to build me another sled BUT how would one attach a bracket to tow behind a skidoo and do it safely?
  3. Same but I can use either. however I need to buy one or the other. Spud bar it is...
  4. Ahh, a new thought process going on now... Thanks Chris. The Axe I have is to big and heavy for that application but the others who have seen my Axe like it!
  5. AMD (CPU guys for those wondering) bought ATI (graphic chip MFG guys) over 10 years ago for a few reasons. Production style is part of that to lower total cost for both companies sharing technology. However they were and still (in my eyes) the best graphic controller card/chip company out there. NVIDIA runs a close race for performance at an even lower cost. With that said what would I spend my hard earned cash on today if I was to go get another new laptop? An AMD CPU and the rest packaged by Dell, HP or Lenovo. A solid State HD is nice but not what Cliff needs as he doesn't need it to happen yesterday and spend more for an SSD. He (like 90% of so of us) can get by with a traditional HD. Most people don't even use the performance of the 4 to 8 core CPU's that are out there, heck even the older dual cores... Cliff back up ALL your files and bring me that old Lenovo and I can bring it back up to snuff for ya but you buy lunch...
  6. Thanks Dan (et all) but no road trip any time soon that way. As for the wrist part, I would have enough room to flick my hand out in a moment and I too wear a float suit every time. It keeps me warm too... Going to either buy or make one later this week depending on the cost to make one like Dave said. It's just a spike, not to pry ever. I have my gas auger in the sled to make holes I'm just checking for ice thickness for safety is all.
  7. My local will get the order in 2020 if I'm lucky... But tks!
  8. Oh I was going to do that Dave (strap) no matter and use some double layer laced materials or a leather strap. Thanks all! For the short term till I get a new one Dave has the answer so I can get out ASAP. Look out goggles and grinder here I come! Too bad I gave away the T bar's I had as they would have been easy to grind to a nice T point and been about the same weight... Oh well... Thanks all and BB-F keep me in mind next round of "production" me brudder!!
  9. Correct as Intel and AMD ONLY do the CORE (heart of the pc) and there are many other low budget other parts that can be used. Hence Tier 1 (Dell, HP, Lenovo) and Tier 2 and lower... You Do get what you pay for...
  10. That was my other thought Dave so I can head out in a few days and still be safe. I bet it punches through faster than a wide tip bar, right? And weight being lower too is handy I'd bet... Thoughts to that?
  11. Oh I know and guessed that. However B is a tad to far to ask and cover costs to due a deal cause trust me I want one of his drill bit's for the ice screws! Make that two... LOL!
  12. Other than the one "B" I can guess but he's not close even if it's the "B" I think you are talking about bud
  13. Hey all, What's the best place to buy one (low $$) or how to make one for those that don't weld? Mine has been taken so I want and need a new one as I just found out yesterday it's gone... Thanks!! G
  14. It's all good, I'm glad you did decide to post for others to learn from your "lesson" here. your baby (and the rest of the family) need you so we are all happy it ended up with just the loss of items and not more! I'm NOT coming that way for the first time for sad reasons, but for good reasons!
  15. Like I said earlier today when you told me, DAMN lucky to be alive! As for the gear, you never know some of the people you know and fish with there may snag the odd item or two and show up and drop them off at home (with luck)
  16. oh wow! I hope all is well man
  17. with luck I get to hit the ice with the kids tomorrow at my folks place

  18. Chad I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure he was a great man and I appreciate him for all is efforts serving Canada in WWII and beyond!
  19. without reading the replies I say Subaru for many reasons. Resale value, cost to svc is reasonable and the SAFETY is second to none! I rolled an Impreza as high speeds on black ice and walked away from it! I would attach the pic's of the "old car" but they are too big of a file
  20. come pick me up and let's go shop today...
  21. nice, Nice and NICE!!!
  22. I got the BigFoot XL2000 last year and it's great! When I stand I tend to look down the hole either way so it's never been an issue here @ 6'1" tall...
  23. Well I have worked for Dell, HP (when it was Compaq), Samsung and smaller IT companies as well; my pick's for quality, price and support is as follows: 1, Dell 2, HP 3, Lenovo (new name when IBM sold them overseas) All others are a tier 2 or 3 (or worse!) MFG in the PC world. Cliff, KLBE doesn't sell PC's (locally dealer when I looked last time) but I know a company whom I worked for called CDI (computer dealers inc) who take off lease from 'big business' after a year or so (max 3 years old hardware) and they do a 100% rebuild and sell it to small (and large) resellers of IT hardware for very low prices and with a good warranty too. Feel free to MSG me if needed.
