hey all. I see that BPS has a few minn-kota's for sale but I'm not sure what one to get. I have a 14' aluminum boat and the height of the transon is 15" tall. I do not have a good area for a bow mounted unit so I have to mount on the transom. So the questions are: what shaft length is needed (yeah I see you all LOL right now as you read it... ) for this boat? what about of # of LB should I be looking at? Minn-Kota, MotorGuide or the BPS Prowler for brand? Thanks all. Geoff

you can find a good deal in the clearence section. spend a bit more on a reel with good bearings. if you can get to BPS or LeBaron they can help you out.

I don't know about you but my teeth are nothing like a pike's... HAHA yes they can to answer your question. Not at all like mono though. if you are fishing for fish with big teeth then maybe you want a Titanium Leader Wire about 30 LB or so...

do you have any Mono backing on the spool? if not, you need to have a backing of mono before the braided line and a double unit knot is best I find to join the 2 lines together...

as mentioned get some fins/flippers and even a kick board. I know this is a kids set but you get the idea. kick board set the reason they sell this as a set is because it makes it that much easier to learn how to swim. good luck and after you get the hang of it, it's easy...

going to four mile lake here... need to get the dock in, the boat lift in and then all the other spring cleaning done at the cottage. then, if the dock is in (not sure if we can as the water is very high) MAYBE get out on the lake with the my daughter. thanks for the reminder too about the marshmellows, she loves em...

Bass is out of season and the Ontario fishery is overly abused as it is. We do not need others adding to it by fishing for an out of season fish because of something they read. Some people do not even know that a license is needed to go fishing. I urge you to make a posting on your web site correcting this as well as in print tomorrow. If you need to pick a fish then please pick one that CAN be fished for like Perch or Crappie. Thank you. Good point. You should email them asking to wite a new one with Perch or Crappie instead and have them point out that Bass is not in season yet...

The warning was the one about not touching settings and so on while driving. yes, about 20 times and it was just frozen on screen. the good news is after about 25 min. in to my drive (been out and about for work since I posted) it started working again. Hi all. Quick question on my Lowrance XOG GPS. Now when I turn it on all I get is the warning screen and cannot get that to close. is my GPS pooched? I don't want to have to drive all the way out to the place I got it for them to tell me to call a 1-800 number... Thanks in advance. Geoff W.

Even last weekend on the 400 up to Barrie (Friday mid day) and Sunday on my way back (same time) there was a lot of OPP out. I have no issue spending another 20 min. longer in the car with 2 small kids as long as we get there safe. when it comes to guys like the one you mention on the 401 the police should enforce that he/she MUST have a working governor installed on the vehicle IMHO.

race should never be a question or concern as to who is fishing when and where. It's a matter of teaching all anglers out there about OOS fish, rules and reg's. Maybe more of the ads on CBC at this time of year should be done by the MNR (or other places like OFC) directing everyone to the web site for more info. But maybe that's just a pipe dream... Me, I would never ever consider pushing a person in the water considering you never know if said person can swim (and it's just wrong). You want to go to jail for being a fool? So be it. You never know what legal action can and will happen to someone be ticked in the heat of the moment as well as any physical issues that can happen. Worst thing you can do to stop someone as a LAST RESORT is to step on the rod and or reel so said persons day is over. Nobody here wants to read another tidbit of news with a bad ending and YOUR name on it... But that's just me tossing in my 2 cents in to the jar...

that's great to know about the Bounce sheets. did you know that they also work great at getting the dead bug's off the front of your car/truck/van/suv/camper/boat? yes it works wonders and dosen't scratch. just get it moist and your good to go...
