  1. @ IFH, I would like to see some more pic's of how you have your heat source set up please.
  2. I found the problem with a hotplate is they cycle and it didn't keep the heat steady I have one from BPS and it works ok. like you said, a good starter unit to figure out if you like food 'smoked'
  3. correction and yes I'll admit this here and now. He's better than you and me... So by those odd's (due to replies vs. well; you get my point) and folks not posting that makes it that he's better then a LOT of us! I hope all you and yours all the best Mike. G
  4. LOL! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BuWgD2cIbY
  5. You do need to figure that out too. Pick some locations you have in mind then post a poll. As for the date, work that out with your Mom and stick to it! The more you try and move it to help out others the harder it get's for you to do. Good luck and if I can make it I'll be there too.
  6. good to know B; that the line didn't go to waste... it sure would have here if I tried it and didn't like it....
  7. I never made it Mike between the kids hockey. I had just enough time to sit a relax a bit before I had to rush out on the ice for the next one.
  8. It won't take much to do that. I think he want's to get out next weekend.
  9. Thanks and I guess if he's still using that reel today the old saying must apply "you get what you pay for" as it still looks new and probably runs like new. Now go make plans to join him out West during prime time season out there and enjoy!
  10. very cool to 'hook up' with a long time friend like that Chris. See, to me not knowing either of you I would have guessed that pic 2 and 3 were set up in the same to show the then and now. I would easly guess you were on the right side of the screen in both pic's for placement. The only way (other then to keep reading to see who is who) was the reel comment and that Hardy likes to keep his lures on that patch on his right side. Am I correct with that guess?
  11. Just an example for you Jer. @ Al Flaherty's outdoor store Streamside Float Rod 10.5ft, 2 Piece, Sliding Rings #FL1052 @ $58.50 ea @ Gagnon's Streamside Float Rod 10.5ft, 2 Piece, Sliding Rings #FL1052 @ $69.99 ea *edit to add* these prices are not sale prices but normal prices.
  12. Bath tub...
  13. Thanks again folks. I'm going to finish this season off with what I have on now as I use a #4 fly line as the leader and so far the drifts are fine.
  14. No prob, just cover the cost to send them back. PM to follow with more so not to take away from this topic
  15. I can
  16. Thank you both. Case closed. I'll go back to the Maxima green in #10 or 12 if not the Raven line soon. Cheers. Next topic!
  17. If that's the case then why bother use it? Right now I have #14 suffex mono on and it's ok.
  18. yes, yes I AM ready!!!!! wait, correction. can the ice wait in the rivers a bit longer? if so then I'm good to go. Bring on the ice for the new year! well, ok. maybe sooner...
  19. Hey all. So I decided to give a centerpin rig another go. I never used a 'hi-vis' line before as a main line but it seams everyone out there but me is now using a bringt colour line. Is there one better for sun up or sun down applications then a standard mono? Does it make a diff at all during the day? With all the 'stealth' approach to fishing why a hi-vis line? Yeah I know you still use a leader of some sort; just wondering why the bright line. Is it to see the bight before you feel it? What is a good line to use? And NO I don't want the best I want the best bang for the buck plz. Cheers. Geoff
  20. The Q The A Also A.2. Portable for a FF also means that it is not fixed to a boat or other such item where it must be mounted. Portable doesn't mean 'light' by any means. Just that you can move it. Help a bit?
  21. I think I would have wet myself a bit with a PIG like that one on my line!
  22. Mike I know you mean well, after all 'they' do help pay your bills. but the fact still stands that for MANY years (inc. now) 'they' have been over priced. And I'm not talking against a big box store, just check Lebaron's prices and even though they are high too they are still better. The owners of the store should learn from past mistakes they and others have made and try to adjust and improve. Customer SERVICE & PRICE keeps people going into the store, not 1 person who works there. Maybe I'll go see who's working at SAIL tomorrow just for fun...
  23. is that you "ponny-boy"? LOL! Don't waste your time fishing that lake at all. That is unless you want your car damaged then towed away then hey, go for it. They don't like people that don't own land there...
