  1. I was just wondering if anyone received thier 2nd issue of Bassman magazine? if so, what did you think of it?
  2. No problem, I'm glad I was able to help out!
  3. Brian and Steve have contributed to the fishing community for many years. Many anglers have high respect for them for their knowledge, their advice and their customer service. So before making unwarranted comments, make sure you know the whole story first.
  4. I'm sorry you feel this way, Brian and Steve has always been great to me and to all customers that walk through their door. Brian does admit that he stated in the emails he had the nets in stock, at the time you emailed him. However, he runs a business and the nets were sold before you got there. He had to make a decisions whether or not to hold a product or go for the guaranteed sale. Also, he never quoted $250 for the big kahuna, he was offering it to you for $180 tax in. Regarding the beckman net without the handle...has anyone stopped to ask why it was missing. A customer broke his and was not covered under warranty, to help this person out Brian sold the handle separately, and took the lost. Now about your comment of him trying to sell you this net, they're could have been a misunderstanding. They are not type of people, they will never try to sell a customer half of a product.
  5. Found the Mizmo lasted longer, could be because of the lesser salt content but the senko's had better action. I use an O ring with my senkos and sticks, it makes them last longer.
  6. Since i started using Senko's and quiver sticks this year, I have been going to these colours; Senkos: Root beer, bubblegum mizmo Quiver Sticks: Red Shad, watermelon with black and red fleck and a white and chartreuse laminate Time of day really didn't matter, it all depended on water and what presentation I was using.
  7. The 48" rule was brought in when Cedar Fairs bought out all the Paramount Parks. I don't recall seeing it when Paramount owned Wonderland. 48" is the minimum height that most of the bigger rides require, so I can understand why they would start charging full fair for anyone taller. But I hear you on the price, since Cedar fairs took over I need to get the $100+ Cedar Maxx pass to go to the parks in the States, before it was already included in the regular season pass Just like the airlines, once a kid turns 3yrs old they pay full price on a plane ticket.
  8. I understand that a lot of people ask about regs on this forum, but wasn't this forum created to ask other anglers for help. Its just like a person asking where to fish or how ask about gear and how to use them. We have a ton of those questions. Does that mean people don't read or are lazy? just my 2c
  9. Slayingm, you are correct with the new colour scheme for Mercer's Magic. 4 types of rapala were created with this new colour: X-Rap 10 X-Rap shad 6 DT Flat 7 and I believe a DT Minnow I got the Dt and X-Rap. Going to try them out this weekend.
  10. I got one too. It came in the mail yesterday. I recall entering their contest to win a subscription but no information that they were giving them out for free.
  11. Nice catch Coach!! Hopefully I can pull in some 20" this Sunday in Erie.
  12. What's the name of this new store? Contact info?
  13. If you haven't heard, Tim Horton's head office gave her her job back at a different location. They reprimanded her former managers and called them overzealous. However, she says she will still look for another job because she feels nobody's going to like her because of what happened.
  14. Need input about Lake Scugog and Gorski's Landing, on how this location will fair during the walleye opener. Right now I have plans to go to Rice Lake and fish close to the Indian river but because of Mother's Day may need to go to Scugog as its closer. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated, or would it be better to launch from port perry marina. Thanks
  15. Tomorrow will still be working Saturday - Dentist and Doctor's appointments sunday - PERCH FESTIVAL!!!! Woohoo!!!
  16. Does anyone know if there is a store that is not in Ontario but is in Canada that will carry a lot of the stuff we are looking for? The reason I ask is that for my computer needs I order from NCIX, they're only in B.C., I don't have to pay for PST and I don't have to worry about custom fees. Shipping is reasonable and sometimes free. Wouldn't this be a blessing for those us that order from the US!
  17. Thanks for the advice. I'll go to BJ's this week and try on the one they have there.
  18. I was just wondering about any opinions about the Helly Hanson Survival Suits. From what I was told they bought Nautilus and they will not continue that line.
  19. Nice fish!! But have a question; are you fishing in the Durham region or in Zone 16 (Toronto)?
  20. Went to Cayo Coco for my honeymoon a few years ago. Very nice and quiet. The resort we stayed at offered deep sea fishing, never did get a chance to do it as i was kinda busy! If you want more of a party scene got to Veradero, but if you want to relax and enjoy each other's compnay Cayo Coco is the plac.
  21. Be there as well. First time going. Be there April 20, and May 3rd for sure. Other days to follow, depends on other commitments. My daughter is so excited to go!
  22. Drove by the Credit on Derry Rd. yesterday and it was about 3ft higher then usual. Also water really moving fast and very muddy. Be safe out there!
  23. Thanks for the invite David! Unfortunately due to my wife's schedule I'm not able to make it for this meeting. But I will be there for the May meeting. i have also spoken to Mark about it and I am really interested in attending. Thank you all again for your suggestions and opinions.
  24. I use a combination of both PowerPro and Flourocarbon. My main setups are 20lb PowrPro on all my reels and when needed will use a flourocarbon leader , except for 1 of my bait casters will be lined with 15lb flourocarbon, still seeing which flourocarbon I like best, the XPS brand is pretty good but will try the new berkley 100% flourocarbon. PowerPro is really sensitive, i can feel the action of my lures a lot better. Word to the wise, make sure your drag is set correctly, braid has no stretch and if you have a hard hook set you can either rip the hook out of the fish's mouth or snap your rod.
  25. Actually you can still do it online at home. However, you need a non-family member to register as a supervisor. It's still $50 to get it and when you're done you can review all the wrong answer's. I did my test at work, one of our directors is an angler and he watched over me while I did the exam. After, we both went over the questions I got wrong. And I still get mixed up about what navigation lights are to go on what size boat! Got my card in a week or so, felt good to get it. Made me remember the day I got my driver's license. If this helps to prevent serious injury or death, its well worth it. This is just like you getting your driver's license. You had to take a written test and a road test, and pay for both. So i would say that is more of cash grab then getting the operators card. But that's my opinion! Sorry, forgot to say congrats to you Gerritts!
