Since I was looking around for a new motor, my first choice would have been a 6hp Yamaha. The first thing I noticed is that Yamaha.com (US) doesn't have any small 2 strokes on the site. I went to the .ca sit and yes there they are. So i asked my local sales guy and he says that they are slowly phasing out the 2 strokes, and they are getting hard to find. Im all for emissions controls, but from what I know (which is very little) about small 4 strokes, if they are not kept upright or in a very specific position, the crankcase oil can leak into the cylinders and make the motor not operate. On a regular boat this isn't a problem as the motor stays upright on the boat most of the time. But what about when the motor has to be flown in or gets rocked around on a ATV up and down hills on the way to the lake?? I wonder how/if they will be able to address this problem??

Thanks everyone, I think I got myself hooked up with a nice used 8 hp Johnson/Evinrude in MINT condition. The outboard was about the onl;y think that I leave there, other than alot of little crap, that was of any real value. I'm just happy they didn't do any damage. I've got plenty of cam's on order and like I said.. the next time its MY turn.
-
LOL.. umm thanks guys... Im gonna invest in some cams.. next time.. it will be MY turn to have some fun... plus.. ya never know, I may just "hide" a dead outboard.. lol..
-
Ah.... getting stuff stolen is par for the course.. its so remote that they dont worry about getting caught.. although I have ordered a few hidden cams to get the next batch on tape.. as for the bird.. lol.. its a good thing it wasn't the fall, although I think if a partridge put up that much of a stink in the fall, i'd have to let it go.

Went up to Camp last weekend for a quick trip, to find out that someone had gone through the entire camp, went through every cupboard and rubber maid. They didn't steal too much, but they did manage for find my hidey hole for my outboard and stole it. Cause its a tent camp, there's no insurance so I'm out on the motor. The one I want is $2500.00, so that's gonna have to wait a while. We didn't get a chance to do any fishing... BUT it did give us a chance to do some work around camp and a great day of 4 wheeling, and we came across this momma partridge. I saw a few of the chicks but they scurried away pretty quick, and she stood her ground in the road. I had never seen something like this before from a partridge .. I filmed her for a couple min, but didn't want to stress her out too much. Enjoy, I think its quite remarkable. <object width="500" height="405"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500" height="405"></embed></object>

A clarification: Mr. Quesnel, To answer your question, if a person is angling for Aurora Trout via an Ontario sport fishing licence/tag, they may catch and release an unlimited number of Aurora Trout, even after they've retained their single allowable Aurora Trout. Similarly, if an angler is fishing for Aurora Trout via an Ontario conservation fishing licence/tag, they may catch and release an unlimited number of Aurora Trout. Of note though, anglers may not fish up or cull any retained Aurora trout in any day, or at at any point thereafter, until such time as they've voided themselves of any previously retained trout. For example, a person angling under an Ontario sport fishing licence/tag may catch and retain a single Aurora Trout one day and continue to catch and release Aurora Trout for the remainder of the day. The following day, unless the retained Aurora Trout has been consumed or given away to another person for their possession for example, the angler may only catch and release Aurora Trout. To rephrase, an angler cannot retain any more Aurora Trout allowable (i.e.: one (1) on an Ontario sport fishing licence/tag), until such time as they void themselves of the previously retained Aurora Trout. Again, I trust that this answers your question.
