re the threads on all the salmon river fishing
KyleM replied to aniceguy's topic in General Discussion
Theres a big difference between educating people and ranting. Although you had many good points in which I agree 100% the way it came out was a little to touchy feely for me (if ya catch my drift, not literally) Ive often wondered why folks dont print up some flyers and post them around local tribs....maybe hand a bunch out to some folks who are fishing the river. -
I used to tell Roy that the board was better with 2Rs around. Its been a long long time.

Yep not sure where you looked but theres lots of places to rent boats. My family has a cottage on Deep Bay which is just off dilon road. If you look for the sign that says Inverlochy Resort take the road. Its just a gravel road and its quite long but they do rent boats. They are older and pretty beat up but the owners are A1 and having gone to deep bay for 24 years, I dont think Ive seen anyone stranded in them. Id tell you a few spots but Id have to kill you.

Well August 13th is fast approaching and Iam getting pretty excited. As a couple of you know Iam moving out to Grande Prairie Alberta. I was supposed to be moved by June 1st but due to major issues at work I decided to stay the extra couple months to sort things out. Anyways, Iam making the drive alone. I have decided to venture up the Hearst route instead of taking the Lake Superior shoreline. Has anyone driven that highway...Iam curious as I dont start work for a few weeks. I plan on taking my time getting out there and Im gonna try and stop to fish as much as possible. Anyways, if anyone has some decent info on the drive its much appriciated. I have done the Lake Superior shoreline tour before so I know what Iam missing. If anyone wants an adventure Id be happy to take them along....you must find your own way back though LOL

There have been lots of guys vouch for the newer PT reacting with aluminum. You wont be able to tell the difference between marine grade and exterior if its done properly. I wouldnt advise using half inch, I think thats only maybe three plys of wood. I have built a few now (latest being a 68 starcraft falcon) and I would seriously consider purchasing a 14 footer instead of your 12. A raised deck on a 12 footer is fine and dandy out of a pond but its not safe on any water with a big wake.

Those pike must have tasted great. Nice fish.

Golden opportunity to catch walleye after 5-year wait
KyleM replied to RobHall's topic in General Discussion
Word of advice, dont waste your gas and money. I have been fishing the Bonnechere and Golden Lake system my whole life and the Eyes are few and far between. Eventhough its been closed for some 5 years, it never stopped the natives up there from netting them. Its probably at the worst point its ever been. Earlier in the 5 years of the ban you would get a couple while pike or bass fishing but the last 2-3 years Ive only seen one in our boat. Thank our government, I know everyone up there does (insert sarcasm) -
Nothin like fixing up an old boat. Iam in the middle of doing a 69 starcraft aluminun falcon. Looks like a lot of fun to me.

Sinker, I believe they just recently changed the recipe for PT plywood. It is very corrosive to aluminum. The other thing you need to watch out for is using this new PT with riveted boats. Some of the chemicals in the newer PT can eat the rubber gaskets in the riveted boats. I order this stuff dang near every week and I can tell you that marine grade ply holds up just aslong as exterior. They use the same substance to bond the plys together, they both break away the same. If you want something strong that will hold up for the rest of your life then up the number of ply on the sheet. Regular 5 ply will rot (marine grade or not) within 10 years. Another good thing to do is burn in your joints. If you have a belt sander, grab an old beat up belt with next to no grit left on it. Fit your plywood in place and burn all the edges with the dull sandpaper. This creates a hard surface that water cant get into. If your not able to use a belt sander then 3M makes a great compound, I like to use the 5200. Smear it around the edges and joints. There are tons of places to price out plywood. If you can, locate some 5x8 instead of 4x8 sheets. most boats 15' under have a floor width of under 5' so you can run a good length before making a joint. Try.....(you will hafta locate the numbers online as Im not at work) Wanderosa in Bolton Commonwealth Robert Bury Lumber A couple weeks ago I called Wanderosa and they had a flat of 5x8 sheets on order. All the 5 footers come from Italy so sometimes it takes awhile to find them.

I looked around and for the money you cant go wrong. From what Ive seen they are extremely similar to the medium Shimano line. Sure, if you wanna spend the 4 or 500 on a Shimano then go for it.......I wouldnt. You can buy a small outboard for that price.

Rick, you are a computer something or other. Thanks!!!!!

Id also like to add that installing cupboards properly is not an easy task at hand. Mass produced cupboards usually fit to the ground. Water and kitchens go together in one basket and Im sure most of you know what water does to particle board. Higher end kitchens have self leveling feet that are a few extra bucks. The base for the cupboards are one piece and they snap on and off whenever you need to access underneath cupboards. Id love to PM you but my PMs are whacked.

I work through a custom cabinet shop in Fergus. We do completely custom kitchens (even build our own doors) Take it from me, stay away from anything Ikea or HD. They are slap together box cupboards, not dado'd edges. (basically means they are slapped straight on instead of half and half mounted) Id enjoy seeing atleast one HD kitchen come complete....they are always missing a door or side gable. Not to mention the selection is crap. Custom shops deal through numerous companies to supply; hardware, handles/knobs, stain colours, countertops, types and shades of wood, crownmolding...etc Its a no brainer IMO. With a small custom shop you also get service. I have replaced doors and hinges from kitchens built 15 years ago all for free. Theres no written warrantee but if you research a company and see that theyve been around for over 20 years then you know what your getting.

Im not sure why someone would find the time in their day to complain about this stuff. Give me a break. Flick on the TV and theres a heck of a lot worse.

I love Torontos consistancy. 7 goals the night before and 1 tonite. I cant wait for the next game they play. I hope Chara gets ahold of that panzy Tucker. Ref blindly missed that charging penalty.

Lasts all day with no problems. I use a set of batteries for the whole weekend and they might still be good for a couple hours use the next week. Being in the cold may screw them up though.....maybe makes em better. Damned if i know. -
Guys, theres no need to download anything. Open up your picture in Windows Paint and go to tools at the top...click Sketch/Skew. Its pretty straight forward. Its starts at 100x100 and I usually shrink them to 30x30 Just make sure to save in JPG format.
