They are hoping his term and salary make him unappealing to Las Vegas. I would hope we keep Methot over Dion.

I hated Subban for his slash on Stone in the playoffs, now I want so bad for him to march down the streets of Montreal with the cup lol You can't hate a guy who did what he did for the sick kids......total class.

Best Laker Bait/Lure if Minnows are banned?
muskymatt replied to Sterling's topic in General Discussion
Jigging works well when they are on imo. A slower bite will have me trolling and covering ground. That said I jig often. My three favorite jig options are. Rapala ice jig (yes in summer) https://www.google.ca/search?q=rapala+ice+jig&rlz=1C1CHMO_en-GBCA566CA566&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjjjs3ljpbUAhUJzIMKHaKjDoYQ_AUICigB&biw=1366&bih=662#imgrc=bEg4gYfp64w5rM: Yellow jig head with swim bait of grub tail https://www.google.ca/search?q=Yellow+jig+swim+bait&rlz=1C1CHMO_en-GBCA566CA566&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjzkeaPj5bUAhXI1IMKHTbMCZQQ_AUIBigB&biw=1366&bih=662#imgrc=AA58WLBd2i0XJM: Green jigging spoon, any colour patter or size https://www.google.ca/search?q=Green+jigging+spoon&rlz=1C1CHMO_en-GBCA566CA566&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiC2Mi6j5bUAhUo34MKHYmKABMQ_AUIBigB&biw=1366&bih=662#imgrc=8WZf3s9IhRTl5M: -

I use a variety of spoons. Never had the need to use gang trolls or bait as these spoons have worked consistently for me. https://www.google.ca/search?q=mooselook+thinfish&rlz=1C1CHMO_en-GBCA566CA566&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiB6szB65XUAhUH1oMKHSr_AoYQ_AUICigB&biw=1366&bih=662#tbm=isch&q=mooselook+spoons&imgrc=PS8i5yzcz179SM: I have used some williams whitefish as well with success. All spoons are silver or silver with copper back and are between 3" and 5" long trolled at 1.6 - 2.0 mph -
I'm out of town this weekend coming up for 3 days Muskie fishing so a day off is not likely. We will do it another time though for sure. BRL was quite busy, almost like a parking lot in the popular areas, funny that I went away from the crowds and caught fish.

My fishing partner and I headed out for Laker opener yesterday with hopes of hooking up a couple. Getting to the launch we set up and backed in the boat. I'll rewind to last fall where I went to go late fall muskie fishing but the steering cable on the 115 Etec snapped before getting the day going. Off to the marina I went and by all accounts they had it fixed and ready to go for this spring. Being that yesterday was my first outing of the year, I had not tested the steering yet. Ok, back to yesterday. I hopped into the boat and started it up and threw it into gear and started backing away from the dock when I immediately knew something was wrong!!!! After a couple minutes I realized they hooked up the cable backwards, when I turn the wheel to the right, the boat turns to the left, when turning wheel to the left the boat turns to the right. What the......????? Although it was tricky and awkward, we went on anyways as it was a 1.5 hr drive to get there. Soon into the day one of the rods on the downrigger went off and I handed the rod to Matt, yes we are both Matts lol. He fought what looked like a very decent fish for a couple minutes but it spit the hook. Not long after I hooked up on this nice natural 4.5 lb laker We switched over to jigging and immediately were into fish with me losing one and having a nice smash on my jig. Matt then hooked up this nice sub 4 lb natural laker. One more at under 2 lbs that went back and we called it a day. It was smoking hot on the water and I had forgot my hat....ugh..won't do that again. Great day of fishing but off to the marina tomorrow to get the steering cable fixed.

What would be awesome is for you to settle up our bet, or even for you to answer my PM's.
-
You mean like game 7 against the Bruins in 2013? Bahahahahahaha If you don't call that a choke then you're a liar...... Thanks for the set up!!!
-
we also beat them 5-1, was a back and forth series. Say whatever you will. We were one goal in a game 7 double overtime from going to the cup. Your laffs......well........never mind! LOL
-
Wait a minute..........You call losing in double overtime in game 7 to the defending cup champs choking????????????????? Do you even know anything about hockey? You are such a leaf fan!
-
Point taken. GOLF LAFFS GOLF
-
You guys make me laugh so much hate and jealousy it's comical. Your team sucks for 50 years and yet you channel your discontent towards a team that is having an awesome season. Poor little laffites, maybe one of these decades you night see some success. GO SENS GO
-
I heard a stat today that Anderson is a perfect 7-0 in game 7's.
-
Blah blah blah....isn't it golfing season for you?? Have your facts straight before exposing your whining to the public. Why would you be trolling ticketmaster if you don't care and are a laffs fan?

It is sad for sure. Conference finals and game 6 with a few empty seats, not a lot but any is too much. I was doing some checking and this is likely a huge part of it. Ottawa is a smaller market, no question about that. At one million people it is likely one of the smaller markets in the league but growing. Ticket prices are from $200 to $930 each so figure mid range seats will cost a couple 2@ $450 =$900 for one game. They raised the parking from $20 to $30 for the playoffs, a 50% increase......GREED! Beers are $11 each and a hotdog will set you back $6. With tickets, parking and a snack and 3-4 beers each, a game will set you back over $1000. Now I don't know about the laffites on here but I know I can't afford a thousand bucks a game for a hockey game. And certainly not more than one game a playoffs. I can't imagine dropping $5000 on 5 or six games. I like to go the tropics in the winter so that is where I choose to spend my money. Actually you laffites probably could afford it, you have been saving your money for 50 years Seriously though, my uncle lives in the GTA, is a huge laffs fan and doesn't go to the games because of the cost. I would assume this is common for all or most of the guys on here. Big difference is more big spenders in Toronto and all the little guys get left out.
-
Nope. They just played their game. Can't play Pittsburghs style and expect to win.
-
I let him know that all the time. He's like a laffs fan to me when it comes to hockey.
-
First time I have done that in a long time(years). I'm also so fed up with the league. Team in Las Vegas instead of Quebec Horrible officiating in the playoffs Uneven and unfair ownership of team and money between the US and Canada Matinee games due to US networks Star players allowed to do whatever they want without fear of reprimand And I could list more. Bettman has turned this league into a joke and he keeps running it into the ground. He doesn't want a Canadian team in the finals as it would hurt the ratings. A good friend of mine and Habs fan has sworn off hockey altogether. Won't watch it anymore. There is a reason why it's been 24 years since the cup was in Canada, look at all six teams missing the playoffs last year. That was just what Bettman wanted.
-
While I'm hoping like hell that they will rebound, it has been a great run so far, and it's not over yet. Considering many analysts didn't give them a chance to make the playoffs, being down 3-2 games in the conference finals against the defending cup champs is pretty good. But of course Laffites wouldn't know that. The first game in the second round the seats were not sold out by game time and scalpers were left holding others due to stupid high prices. The rest of the games were all sold out and Ottawa has the highest attendance of the 4 final teams. When you see the Pens play you can see why they are defending champs, they are good! I hope they go on but if they don't I'll still be happy with what we have for next year and beyond. Go Sens Go
-
Yup, they were so sloppy it reminded me of the laffs. So i went and had a nice cuban cigar and did some yardwork with a beer.
-
pretty brutal effort for all the team. ugh. I turned it off after 2 goals, it was pretty clear it was going to get ugly.
-
See that's the difference between the Sens fans and the laffites. When a player comes to the Sens, we make them feel welcome so they can relax and play hockey. The laffites criticize and put them down and drag their names through the media and boo them on the ice so that they just want to leave. Case in point----Kessle won a cup the first year he was out of the dreaded blue and white disease.
-
Blah blah blah Phanuf was just doing his job, can't help a deflection, happens all the time. I see all the laffites are watching eagerly! It's a back and forth series for sure. Will be a tight finish.
