  6. That is a monster Laker for Simcoe, Looks like it would easily make 18-20lbs it is a shame that it did not make it back alive. That is the problem when fishing in a 6inch hole. Congratulations and did you get an official weight on it.
  7. we used hank huts out of Sutton Ontario. Cheers AL
  8. I managed to fish Sunday, at Jacksons Point with a good friend of mine Shaun. We arrived at the hut by 7:30 am and set up are spreaders and starting jigging with our ice rods. The Jigs only had one touch all day. The tip ups with spreaders on the bottom had all the action. Shaun was 0/2 with about 4 other hits. I went 1/3 with about 7 other hits. The fish seemed pretty fussy today. We were fishing in about 55-60FOW. The guys beside us had a good day as well, it was great to get out again. Here are a couple pictures from our day out on Sunday Al with a 7lb Whitefish Cheers Al www.alsadventures.ca

  14. I managed to get out on the weekend for some Ice fishing at Jackson Point on Simcoe. Due to the really cold weather and winds we decided to rent a hut for the day. It turned out to be a good decision because the wind chill was -30. We fished in roughly 60 feet of water for whitefish and Lake trout. We ended up 1 for 3. We had spreaders on the bottom and then jigging spoons on our rods. There were tons of people out and lots of skidoo traffic as well. Here is a picture of our hut Lots of hut out now Shaun with his 1st ever whitefish Cheers AL www.alsadventures.ca
  15. Was down at the boat this morning first thing. It was quite a display. For fishing boat they had lots of great boats. I personals had a good look at pursuits, grady whites, Lunds, boston Whaler and the princecrafts. Had a good time but the spring fishing show is my favorite. Cheers
  16. You can get them at Tightlines in Pickering Brock Road and 401 just south on brock on west side. JBs fishing Depot should have them as well. Hope this helps.

  18. Merry Christmas everyone. I am going to be buying a GPS Unit with the navionic chip in it this new year. I was wondering if you guys could tell me which one you like the best. I already have the eagle 500c sonar unit so I am just looking for the GPS Unit, with detailed maping. Any info would be great. Cheers AL
  19. Hit a couple different rivers on Saturday and only saw one nice silver caught. The water conditions were perfect just not a whole lot of fish biting today. It was fun to get the centre pin out again. Cheers Al www.alsadventures.ca
  20. Shaun those are great pictures and fantastic report. Who would of ever thought the weather would co-operate for you in December LOL. Can't wait to get out for some fishing myself. Happy Holidays. AL
  21. The weather has been way to warm to even think of Heading on the ice unless you have a float tube with you. Probaly at least 2-3 weeks of colder weather. Be safe we all loving fishing but not that much.... cheers
  22. I think Urban Outdoor Adventures is by far the best fishing show on tv here in Canada. I am getting so sick of Italo fishing with his wife, Barb. Cronzeys days are done, just do an eating show he would like it better. Food network for him.LOL Izumi still has a decent show but hats off to Urban Outdoor Adventures.
  23. That is an absolute hawg. Congradulations on the trophy musky. Glad to hear it went back.
  24. For storing the fly line inside should be fine. I was a fly fishing guide in New Zealand for two years and we used to stretch our fly line, right down the drive way and then coat it with a floating dressing every once in a while. Of coarse if it is a floating line. Otherwise there is no reason to take your line off you spool. It should be fine. You can wash your fly line in hot soapy water if it is dirty. Little bits of grid with eat away at your eyelids on your rod and prevent you from your best cast. Hope this helps. Cheers AL
