  17. This past week was another great salmon adventure. I spent 3 days fishing with some great clients from Edmonton, Minnesota, and Toronto. The week started off with some really high winds from south east so nobody was able to get out for a fish. We finally managed to set our lines and starting trolling in pursue of the Great Ontario Salmon Derby winner. Here are a couple of pictures of a great Salmon we caught earlier in the week Anthony thinking “This salmon is almost as big as me” The Salmon are now staging all river mouths and are right in the shallow water. In the early morning the fish are right in tight to shore, then they seem to move out with the boat traffic and as the sun rises. There are many anglers starting to catch some great salmon of shore right now. The keys to our success this week was, using A-tom-mik Trolling Flies of dipsy divers and rigger lines for most of our fish. Cut bait, “Meat” with flashers was also a great choice for some of our bigger fish. Here are some more pictures of some great late season salmon Mike who mainly fishes Lake Michigan enjoying some good size Nice Male that took over 500 feet of line on one run, good job guys getting the fish in Some action from out in the “Blue Zone” Deep water Lots of rainbows and a ton of fun Some great cohos as well out deep It was a great finish to a fantastic Salmon derby with some great fish being caught all week. Now it is time for some Musky and bass fishing with some casting for big salmon mixed in, then walleye later in the fall. Cheers Al www.alsadventures.ca

  21. I would like to personally thank John, Vito, Chris, Pat, Jamie, Arie and the gang for the great job on putting on an excellent event this weekend. Special thanks to all the sponsors of the event as well. The 2007 Tightlines Shootout was a tremendous success with a very good field of competitive anglers from Ontario and United States. The field was full this year with 40 competing for a first prize of $10,000. Congratulations to Team Hot Rods, Matt and Eric Santoro for defending the title for the second year in a row. Congratulations as well to team Maestro with Drew Primose and Mike Attard coming in second. The weather was perfect and fishing was tough with almost half the field struggling to get a full 6 fish box. I had a great day and a ton of fun and I am looking forward to next year already. 22. This past week was another great salmon adventure. I spent the last few days of the week fishing Lake Ontario in preparation for the 2007 Tightline Salmon Shootout on Saturday at Bluffers Park. The fishing was pretty good all week, with good weather and lots of good mature fish to be found. I was fortunate enough this week to have my Step Grandfather, Marty come out one evening for some fishing. At 83 years old Marty was so happy to be out it brought back many decades of memories for him. Marty used to fish the lake lots from the early 60s to early 90s. We set our lines and it did not take long for Marty to get a taste of the salmon action again. Here is a picture of Marty with his first salmon on. A nice mature fish for Marty, “Look at that smile” We put two more nice mature kings in the boat and Marty was pretty worn out The key to our success was using Dipsy Divers and A-tom-mik flies. Friday I had to get out again and do some more pre fishing for the big day on Saturday. I ended up fishing on my own for a few hours and checking a bunch of locations. Here is a couple of nice matures that I boated on my own. A-tom-mik tournament series flies. #55 Purple Passion There is still three weeks left in the Great Ontario Salmon derby so if anyone wants to test there luck and try winning a boat come on out for a great day of fishing. Cheers Al www.alsadventures.ca
  23. Blake we have to trade a salmon trip for a bass trip bud. Give me a shout. Cheers Al
  24. Friday I managed to take Tom out, who has never fished for Salmon in Lake Ontario before in his life. Being from St.Louis, U.S.A he had no idea what kind of a salmon we had here in Lake Ontario. The first fish of the day was a 7lb Chinook and Tom said “Wow that is nice one”. I just smiled and set the lines up again. Within the first 3 hours of his trip we boated 3 nice mature Chinooks. It was a great morning on the water and, we had a lot of fun. It just goes to show how many people, have no idea how good are salmon fishing is in Lake Ontario. Here are a couple of pictures of tom Tom with his first mature Chinook Tom with another nice fish Tom with his personal best 20+lb Cheers AL www.alsadventures.ca
  25. This past week was another great salmon adventure. I have spent almost everyday fishing Salmon with a good friend of mine Derek and then my Dad. The week started off great with Derek and me managing to get out for few hours early in the mornings. We set our lines and starting trolling in pursue of the Great Ontario Salmon Derby winner. The water has warmed up tremendously here on the North Shore so the fishing has seemed to turn on big time. Here are a couple of pictures of Derek with some big Chinook salmon Derek with a nice 23lb salmon Derek with a 25lb+ salmon (congratulations bud) I was very lucky to be able to spend two quality afternoons with my father. Dad always seems to luck out with great timing for his fishing trips. The weather was perfect and the fishing was even better. Our first evening out we ended up 5-8 with some nice fish around twenty pounds. Here are some pictures of Dad Dad warming up “FISH ON” Nice high teenager Dad has been to BC for salmon fishing twice and says the fishing is much better in Lake Ontario. We boated him two fish in less than one hour, that were bigger than he caught in an entire week up on the BC coastline. Here are a couple more pictures of Dad with his Salmon Every fish we boated this week was put back for another day “release shot” Come on out and try your luck at catching some of the best salmon fishing in Canada, right here in Lake Ontario Cheers Al www.alsadventures.ca
