Morning. I have read many articles on smoking, I have a smoker that works great but I am curious if i can smoke something quick on the barbie, like put chips in foil and set em on the grill ? or put a pan of chips on the flavour bars under the grill ? will this work ? When i use the smoker i leave it for 6 or 7 hours, but was thinking i could get a quick fix on the bbq, any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks Al

I was out on the bog Tuesday and came across a dead fish floating along, have not much of an idea what it was tho. Was not a muskie, was not a pickeral, was apporximatley 26" long maybe a girth of about 12-14" maybe 8lbs,was not bloated too bad yet, large scales and mouth like a whitefish, could have been a sucker ? don t think so tho. never seen a fish like it at the bog, did not have camera with me.

Can one just wrap some chips up in tin foil and toss them on the grill and that will ad smoke flavor, or a pan under the grills but on top of the flavor bars filled with chips ? I have a smoker i use mostly in the winter but it take 6 hours to do a load of fish, thinking the barbie I could get a quick fix that way, is this possible ? Thanks Al

I dislike Great Blue Herons very much, they are ok at the lakes and swamps but stay away from my Koi pond !!!! The like Koi apparently, so now for the last 5 years i have had to keep a net over it. And they still stop by! So now i can add Egrets to the list probably. Such as life, the cycle spins.

I am thinking of putting a kicker on my 16 lund, got a deal on a 15hp merc, might be too much but will see i guess, my question is, is it better to mount directly on transom or install a kicker plate ? It is a long shaft. Any comments or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Pickering marine, at Bayly and Brock, north side, Merc, dealer, does a good job there.

Its awfull, my neighbour who is about 28 or so contracted it last summer and went for tests and all kinds of things and the docs did not know what he had or was going on with him, just before Christmas he was diagnosed with lyme disease,he is self employed as a chiropractor and is hardly working at all,has no energy, wears an intravenous bag and the last time i talked to him appears to be depressed, but who wouldn t be,I asked him how long does this take to run or get rid of ? he said about another yr to yr and a half, that would depress me, 2 young kids and a wife, nasty stuff. It is sad the docs could not detect it and catch it much earlier and he could have avoided some of this.An avid hunter and fisher, but that is all on hold now,as i am sure much of his life is,I think the medical community need to be updated a little bit on some of these things. just my 2 pennies worth.

I have a 75 merc, and am thinking of putting a trolling plate on it to slow it down a bit, as opposed to a kicker which is hard to find for what i want to spend right now. I had a plate on it before and seemed to work ok,it was a spring loaded one so it came up the faster you went,no cords or anything, worked great untill my buddy back it into a rock pile, and they don t make that one anymroe so can t get parts or fabricate anything, so I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on what kind of plate works best for 75 hp. any ideas would help. i looked at Cabellas, they have afew that might be ok, but not sure of the quality. thanks for any help.

ok thanks, i will see what i am going to do, they are at ctc for 399, drifter says they will be 200 next month, trying to talk to someone at the strore to see if i can get an inside line if and when they are going on sale

Ok got it, i understand it now, so i guess i shouldn t mess around with the adventurer that has no poles then and just wait till next year when i can find a trekker 11
-
does one need the stretch poles ? am not sure where they go, i would have to look at one setup, you have the hoops or whatever you wanna call them, is tha not enough, or am i missing something, does it not just pullover and you have the supports on the bottom coming up the side and across and down the other side fastening to the bottom again.
