Greetings & a question about TO fishing
MuddyWater replied to Warthaug's topic in General Discussion
the salmon should be starting in about a month or so depending on the temperatures do some research on that. salmon are fun but VERY fun when casting spoons and spinners off of piers and river mouths.! (make sure to have atleast 150yards of line because if they want to they like to run for newyork) -
been out trollin a couple of times but the dam fleas are so thick they are poping the lines off the rigger. Ive heard about some of these lines that are made with some jazz that the fleas cant stick too?? not only that but the stupid fleas are screwing with the spoon wobbles and what not any info on this would be splended!!!

orange cant go wrong with an orange colour for some smallies. also when its getting to be evening chuck some big gold mepps everything likes big gold mepps
-
basically if you see the temps drop or rise by a good amount fishin wont be so great. its when its stable for a few days they get use to the pressure and stuff lol. unless your fishing salmon, rainbows and browns which use high water to migrate this means fishing time for me when the pressure changes in the fall

good musky in the north end of the lake and the burnt river has some big guys... some old guy the other week said he lost a 50" at the mouth of the burnt.

i doubt the bass would be around creeks right now best bet is to find rock peirs and chuck baits around those ill be out for some when the winds calm down.... oh yea they school tight in lake O
-
i went chucking some spoons off the pier for some smallies but i guess the school wasnt in my range or something. then i notice this big black thing following my spoon and bam huge hit. first thing i was thinking is this is one retarded chinny in this warm water then after about 80 feet of line i saw the big orange brown creature and it was a big carp around 20lbs. i landed that beast and began casting again then all the sudden my line just started screaming and it was another carp about 15lb hit the dam spoon!!! i cant believe it 2 carp on a blue and silver crocodile spoon!!! has anybody ever experienced this before? im new to this one lol heres a pic of the first hawg! this is something for you carpers to think abou when you cant get them to bite or something lol.

I'm always hearing that the fish are dissappearing
MuddyWater replied to jimvanm's topic in General Discussion
like my dad always says. you know those lures that work very well for a while and then the fish just dont touch them after a while? keep those lures and wait ten years and use them again and wammo its back to normal again... only thing is that im 23 and i doubt i have a lure from 10 years ago that wasnt tossed into a tree or pile of rocks.... cant test his theories yet -

the lack of fish these days is because of new technology. back in the day you would have a cheap sonar and a fibre glass rod and have to actually learn how to find fish. these days youve got lines and crazy rods that rarely let you loose a fish accurate sonars, underwater cameras, thousands of new baits and the internet. remember when you would go ice fishing and use a cheap paper map to find a shoal or weed bed then spend all day trying to find it and then finally find it and catch fish? now you just plug it into the gps and land right on the spot and pound the hell out of it. it use to be that the easiest part of fishing was reeling in the fish not anymore it seems. well thats my opinion... -
Loosing my favorite Fishing hole to Ants!
MuddyWater replied to Anton Kanagasuntheri's topic in General Discussion
those dam red ants have been destroying my fishing for many years every year i see them getting farther north on the east tribs. as for getting away from them i would stand in the water. ALTHOUGH i have seen them floating down the water and clinging to my legs ive been bit so many times i freakin hate them. the worst is stinging nettle with red ants on it jesus thats a painfull collision. i was pondering the thought of spraying raid onto my shoes or boots so they wouldnt climb on. those ants are some kind of invading species. im always looking at the ground one thing i have found if you look down and see black ants your safe. some areas have millions of red ants they eat eachother. here is some info on your enemy i hate them so much. http://creatures.ifas.ufl.edu/urban/ants/Myrmica_ruba.htm good luck!!! youll need it!! -
lol nice hes lovin it

if the reel fits and balances i use it... as for the 20.00 rod you get what you pay for i would go with fenwick tho
