On-Board Charger Problem UPDATED WITH DIAGRAM

I just had another thought too......are they all the same battery type? By chance, you don't have 1 deep cycle, 1 regular or 1 acid and 1 gel? Cheers -
On-Board Charger Problem UPDATED WITH DIAGRAM
legacey replied to Basskicker's topic in General Discussion
Sorry Bass Kicker. I had a friend drop by and when he looked at it, the only battery that was being read was the main battery; not at all the 2 aux batteries. It took him less than 5 minutes to re-connect everything that the marine place tried to charge me $75 to do. A wire was not connected so the charge never did work on the other 2 and my main batter was fully charged. Otherwise, only the power, float and go fish indicator displayed. The only time too, I would see the charge light go on was when I was starting up the motor (main) and only for a brief second, when the charger was connected to charge the batteries. Far shot I'm sure but maybe try to over-turn the main motor quickly and see if yours too will display the charge light. Maybe not a good suggestion and I'm sure someone else here can tell you if that's a bad idea. Once the wires were re-connected properly, the charge light indicator would go on and finally make the charge. I'd suspect that with yours too, it's reading only 1 battery and the one that's not being used by the trolling motor. I sure wish I could tell you how but as I said, I'm stupid with such things but would bet it's the same problem. Maybe take all the connectors off and start new? Cheers -
MRM....I've heard that the fish are late around that area too. With the water level up and the cold weather, I'd suspect they'd still be deeper. My Dad lives on the river; his group haven't done well either but are getting the odd walleye. All have been in deeper water or close to it. Cheers

On-Board Charger Problem UPDATED WITH DIAGRAM
legacey replied to Basskicker's topic in General Discussion
I had this same problem 2 weeks ago, with a BPS 3 bank charger. I had a local marine company install it for me along wtih a new trolling motor. I'm pretty much stupid with these things but now realize, so was the marine company. For 2 weekends in a row, when charging, only the lights that you indicated displayed. The problem, as you've all indicated, is that the battery it was getting it's load read (charge) wasn't being used by the trolling motor so would always indicate it was ready or "go fish". Once it was reconnected, I finally got the "charge" light to display. I'm sorry I can't tell you what is incorrect but BPS will more than likely say the same. Good luck. -

I was camped beside Serge and his son the weekend before at Mohawk Trailer Park. Good to see the fish caught....congrats guys. Cheers -
Gerritt and to the others with apnea, I feel for you with not getting the sleep the body requires. I was diagnosed with narcolepsy when I was 12. It's not as sever as others and I don't have a lot of sleep attacks but do have cataplexy (loss of muscle control) to some extent, but not falling down like others. More so "noodle" like reaction. I dream like crazy so that's the coolest part! but take ritalin to keep me awake during the day. Although it's not the greatest of prescriptions, I'm fortunate to be taking ritalin to keep me awake.....maybe someday there too will be something for apnea to help. Good luck. Cheers, Paul

Although not U-Haul or TH related....I've had a bad experience at Canadian Tire (Kingston) and buying a b-b-q. I bought a Thermos brand last year from them. Took it home, used it 3 times at the most and the entire thing started spitting out propane, when I was heating it up. The flames were every where and I'm lucky my wife called me out to help or the trees and deck would hav gone up. I took it back to CT and of course, they said nothing they could do....grease fire! They didn't even look at it or offer some support. Usually they're so good too but I guess not with Q's. Took it home, called Thermos and opened a case. They said "grease fire!" nothing they could do but give me the parts #'s to order. I waited unitl recently to contact them again since there wasn't much sense taking it apart in the snow to fix. Again, grease fire they say. ...I'm extremely careful and go over-board with my Q ever since I had food poisoning at a freinds house a long time ago. I know it wasn't a grease fire....the knobs melted a long with the hoses and baffles. It was as I said, maybe the 3rd time I used it and within 2 weeks of purchasing. I had it covered too and it wasn't spiders as they say can happen. So, I've now begrudgingly orderd the parts for $70....if it happens again, I think I'll take it back to CT again with a pack of hot dogs and ask the manager if I'm to cook these in the store or is he going to help me this time! No one but the last girl I talked too at Thermos to order the parts, were sympathetic or said "sorry about your experience." All I got was "would you like to be part of our mailing list and is there anything else we can do for you?!?" I work somewhat in a customer service field and feel it's the most important aspect to gaining respect and customers. ....what the heck are they teaching these people now?!? Cheers

I just had the 70# Pro put on my boat.....replacing a 43# MG. I never had a problem with the old one and just gave it to my buddy for his boat. Cheers

For me it's a white blade with pink 2 pink dots...... I don't know where I got my first one but lost it in Hay Bay in the flats of all places where there shouldn't be any snags. I had some made up for me afterwards and they've always done really well. ...come on Walleye 2008!

Near us, Gerritt? We're a great bunch

I'm going......I'll be staying at Cedar Point Resort in Hay Bay with our group of 10. I think this will be my 7th or 8th year staying there...great place, great people. With the late spawn, I'm thinking (hoping) a lot of fish will still be in the flats and Hay Bay area. Good luck everyone. Cheers

Thanks Gerritt....I've emailed them from their web page to see. Cheers, Paul

Sorry about that LFW. Eye-Tracker....I think I've seen you pulling this thru Belleville for the fall walleye. What a beauty! Cheers

Here's my rig....it's an older one but perfect for me. I love the old girl! I bought this late last year and had been fixing it up. It's an 18'10 Bayliner BassTrophy with a 125 Force. I bought a 71lb motor guide trolling motor for it at BPS a couple of weeks ago. ...come on May! Lookinforwalleye......have you had much trouble with your Force engine? If anyone knows where to get a windshield, please let me know. A company in the US are making this model but last I emailed them, they might not have it until later in the summer. Cheers, Paul

Yup, agree...I turn the channel but lately my girlfriend turns it back My pet peeve is the ad for WFN (I think) that shows part of the openings of different fishing shows. I think it's Al Linders show (that I love)....when is shows the X-Rap going thru the water, it's backwards. I don't get it but maybe it's just me that sees it this way...anyone else notince this? It's like someone saying schedule but saying it like shed-u-all. It always gets me and I can't stop thinking about it when I hear it and blocks me from further listening. Cheers

As for Extreme.....I enjoy the tips and work they put into it but I can only watch it for so long. The additional noises they have when boat comes across the screen or the bells when tips are displayed is too annoying. That's when I have to change it. ......it's like random test pattern and emergency services broadcast sounds. If anyone from Extreme reads this, please change the sound bytes.....it really makes for a bad hang-over I met Reno a long, long time ago during the Napanee Walleye derby back in the early 80's. He stayed beside us in the same motel and was a great guy. I've also talked to Pete at the QFS after a wickedly windy day. We came in the same time that he and his partner had and he had ripped the rubber off his boat but was still in great spirts and smiling. That's class and an enjoyment of the game. Cheers

It sound much like Downward Spiral.....but incomplete. ...still pretty awesom! Cheers

I have a GC.....I Love It! I had an Eddy Bauer Explorer for many years and much prefer the Jeep. It towes my bass boat without any problems.... I travel north of Parham, down really bad roads with some wicked hills every summer for vaccation and feel confident in it's abilty to get me there. It's not the quickest to do so but I guess the 10 cases of beer in the back bogs it down. The only thing I wish is that it had more room......people in the back seats say it's a little cramped but I also plaster the leather with protectant. Good thing for solid locks otherwise they'd be sent out the doors. I'm at just under 300k and I can't say enough good things about it. Cheers
