  1. When they are trying to become a member they should have to contribute 15 or twenty posts before actually being able to view the members only forum. A lot of them will give up at this point if they are just looking for a spot to fish that day.
  2. I feel your pain Dr Salvelinus. It just seems we have to put up with a handful of righteous members who have nothing better to do... I wish they would go fishing and stop harassing the ones who are on this site for what it was originally intended for, sharing their fishing adventures.
  3. Thanks for the link daplumma, thats the best 4 hrs I have spent on the internet in a long while. I even got to see a Hodaka Ace 100, the first bike I owned when I was fourteen. lol Made me feel old...
  4. Hey Eric, had a blast yesterday.

We should try and get out again soon.

  5. Lake Scugog to me is called the Bog, not any specific area or spot. If I have a good day fishing and wish to let my friends know about it on OFC then guess what... Some of you guys are dumb as stumps! The lake is big, i'm sure that the people looking for info online will come across the fact that the Crappie are on all over the place with the early warm spell. Go fishing guys and don't bother continuing with your dumb comments. I for one am not going to get drawn into your childish rants and opinions. For the members on here who are looking for more specific locations, pm me. Stan
  6. Well if it makes a difference, the spot that I was in was not do-able from the shore and there was only three other boats in there with us. There are dozens of spots all over the lake that produce. I figure if anyone has a boat and fishes, they will be heading that way in any case. The ones without boats, well they are limited in where they can go. I really don't think telling people "the crappie are on fire" is going to make people drop what they are doing and run out all nilly willy to fish. Maybe I'm wrong.
  7. Got together with Hud and Newfieman yesterday on the Bog. We absolutely slayed the Crappie, a fish with almost every cast. The average size was 8 to 10 inches and the odd bonus big one thrown in for good measure. I caught one about 15 inches. Didn't take my camera, so no pics. Sorry guys. Nice finally meeting you Hud, gotta get out again soon.
  8. I was also thinking of doing some fishing there on Saturday, I have two friends that live right on the lake and they both told me the ice is completely gone. Not too sure about the water levels though. Maybe I will see you up there.
  9. Great looking site, way to go guys!!
  10. I quit Jan 01 six years ago. I also threw out about $800 worth of MonteCristos and Cohiba Esplendidos because I completely forgot about my humidor full of cigars when I quit. They went all mouldy and flaky, what a waste. Quitting was the best thing I ever did but I put on about 15 lbs. Good Luck to anyone who decides they want to live longer and quits. It ain't easy but it's well worth it in the long run.
  11. Yup, that'd be a Yote! cept the back legs are usually pointing the other direction. lol
  12. Last summer while walking my dog on the boardwalk at Frenchman's Bay a lady told me that a Fox had run out of the bushes and tried to grab her poodle. Another man walking with his dog chased the Fox and it ran back into the bushes. Has anyone ever heard stories of Fox doing this before?
  13. Now that there's funny!! Howlllllll no pun intended.
  14. I've heard they make good Musky baits... Ya just gotta figure out how to hook em and run a stinger hook!
  15. LOL Dara I thought the same thing. "If a coyote poses an immediate threat, call 911" Help, Help!! I'm being eaten by a coyote. "Yeah right buddy, that's a good one" I wonder if they would send a squad car immediately? lol The last time I needed a cop in a hurry, they showed up 2 hours later...

  17. Sorry johnnyb if this was already up...
  18. Has anyone seen one this size? Makes me want to carry a bigger gun when hunting. lol
  19. I use the Blackberry Bold but my son has an i-phone and loves all the apps. I find the BB works great for texting, messaging and everything else business related, but I wonder if I am missing something? anybody??
  20. Bummer, I was kinda hoping you guys would tell me they jump right outta the hole... Does anyone here know where I might find a hydrographic map for that lake. If I have to bring the gas auger and Vex, so be it. GPS waypoints will be gladly accepted. lol Thanks for the info so far.
  21. A bunch of buds have booked a weekend of ice fishing at Ravenscroft Lodge on Jumping Caribou Lake in or near Temagami. Just wondering if any of our readers has had any dealings with this outfitter, good or bad? We're booked for next weekend Jan 29,30 & 31. Don't know what to expect for fishing either, I've heard there is Walleye, Lakers and Pike.
  22. As you probably already know, it's called a lost leader. The only reason they are getting those few lobsters in the store is to draw the crowds, who by the way end up buying other items while they are there. I saw an advertisement on tv leading up to boxing day for a tv from Future Shop, it was a Sony Bravia 40" lcd tv for $599. My son said "I gotta get one of those" so we got up early, the store was opening at 6:oo am and we got there at about 6:25am. Well guess what!!! that store only got 10 of them and they were all gone by 6:05, meanwhile the tv section was like a beehive with about 10 salesmen and 30 to 40 people trying to buy anything that was on sale. People seem to get it in their heads that if they don't have that model their heart was set on, then they have to buy something and that is just what they were all doing. These guys know their stuff. By the way, we ended up buying a 42" LG LCD for about $50 more than the sale item lol so I guess their tactics work.
  23. Well they told him today that Ford will have an answer for him tomorrow and if that doesn't work out in his favour he will do the arbitration thing. At this point, even if they agree to fix it they told him he won't get it back until around the 18th of Jan. If they aren't going to fix it and he goes to the next step, well who knows... He is looking right now for another truck to replace this one until it is resolved, if they fix the Ford then he will have to sell the one he buys now and swap ploughs. He has Ford financing and called them today and told them that until the issue is resolved he has stopped payments and taken the collision insurance off the truck. He left the fire and theft on it though. Prey for no snow, I feel for the guy he is losing a lot of sleep over this. Funny thing is, I used to laugh at him when he first started the business because he was using a GMC 1/2 ton and I was driving a Chevy Silverado HD Crew Cab. I kept razzing him to buy a real truck. Well he went out and bought this real nice Ford Super Duty and he was so proud!! The first time I saw it I said "what the hell would you buy a fricken Ford for"? I think he wanted to kill me haha. Now I guess he understands what I was saying. I'll keep you all up to date when I hear the outcome. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Stan
  24. He is pursuing the issue with Lou, the owner of the dealership. Apparently the dealership is siding with him but Ford H/O engineering is suggesting foul play, saying that the truck ingested something external through the intake or filter area which took out the turbo. The funny thing is that the mechanic told him the secondary turbo blades or impeller are trashed but there is only a small nick in the primary or first blades or impeller. My question would be, how could anything have gotten by the first without destroying them? Whether it happened at the stealership or it was done by him is the question right now. I would have to agree with the few comments that suggested "prove it" or ante up and do the right thing! He also told me that the plow has no relevance in his claim due to the truck being a Super Duty. I will let you know what happens when I hear.
  25. I can assure you that this truck has never had any chip or program mods done to it. The friend is not capable of turning on his computer and I know that he would never allow anyone to mess with his rig. I also have a friend who has done the mods to his Silverado 2500 and the truck definately flew after the fact. That is until he blew the motor out of it about three months later. It is similar to overclocking you computer, too much and you will fry the processer.
