  1. Saw this tonight, easily one of the best films of the year. Kudos to Villeneuve for not spoon feeding the answers.
  2. Watched 2 films lately.... I really enjoyed the hell out of this. Not as good as Olympus Has Fallen, in the over the top, flag waving, recite the "Pledge of Allegiance" kind of way but I was entertained non the less. Might make my top 10 of the year. Number 2 I enjoyed this one but can't put my finger on why it wasn't great!, Costner was good, but not great as he was in 3000 Miles To Graceland, all the actors were good, direction was solid, story was Lo-Fi Sci-Fi but fun, liked it but something was missing?
  3. Can't wait for that Doc, good call man
  4. If you are ever this way by all means, same goes to Steelheadphycho I'm a Islay fan & Ardbeg is tops in my books but all of their expressions are way too pricey, the Uigeadail is quite abit heavier than the normal 10yr & I do likes me some Laphroig 10yr. HIGHLY RECOMMEND any of the Kilchoman line if you haven't tried them.
  5. After leaving & driving home, don't think I lasted 15 min through the door & slept like the dead! Sore is about right...lol Man I forgot the whiskey pic, fitting it was also a bottle kill
  6. Who can argue with the weather we've had so far this fall, besides the lack of rain it has been really pleasant. Seeing the doom & gloom on the horizon a plan comes together to try and hit virgin territory for both Brock & Chuck in which if you know these guy's those kind of lakes are very few & far in between. This trip would have us paddle & portage 4 lakes to our destination & hopefully fish would greet us when we got there. We meet up, start to unpack our gear & Brock says " I brought a small motor, thought it might help with the big lake" well yes, YES it did, especially on the home trip! After crossing the big lake, the motor got stashed in the bushes & it was paddles from there onward. Cross our second lake, portage into the third & our expectations were dashed abit. There was a cash of 3 boats stashed on this third lake coupled with not a single bite we thought our last lake might be a dud. After following a beaver trail that put us in the wrong direction, we stashed our boats & made our way to the fourth lake thinking there might be a few stashed boats...nope, so back we go to grab our boats. This fourth lake was truly beautiful & while nothing bit at first it wouldn't be long. Brock was chucking spoons while Chuck & I were floating worms. I wouldn't say the lake was on fire but we had a very steady pace of hook ups or hits. Most Brookies were decent in the 1/2 to 1 lb range with some larger & smaller of course, Chuck had a nice one spit the hook on shore. Had a incredible shore lunch of sausages cooked on hot rocks, beer & whiskey helped take the edge off the cold front blowing through which brought rain/sleet, hail for a moment & snow as we were leaving. We certainly put the boots to her this day!! Sun barely up when we started & a drop of light left when we returned....just a incredible day all round!
  7. Awesome stuff man, great pics!
  8. My thumb is sore just looking at that controller, only if they release the original Ghost & Goblins in the original next to impossible to beat version, not the easier one they released a few years later
  9. Took me awhile to see this, ya man the whole album is just brilliant!! We lost another legend today. To most he may not be in the same breath as a Bowie but to me he was so much more, RIP Mr. Cohen
  10. Been a fan of theirs since the mid 80's, their latest show Fool Us is fantastic. Penn & Teller are still as good as they ever were, some truly amazing acts that will make you scratch your head
  11. Took me awhile to track down some photo's, I do have some recent ones somewhere & will pop them up when found but in the meantime, My 1968 BSA Victor Clubman 441cc single, bought it as a basket case when I was 14. After tracking down a lot of missing parts I put together a rolling basket (pictured) it would be a few more years of tracking down parts & ditching Lucas crap. Currently it's a cafe racer The BSA will always be my first love but when I was 20 I bought another basket case this time it was a 1970 Norton 750 Commando S model. It has seen it's fair share of transformations over the years. A lot of missing parts but parts are more common for these than the BSA so it took half the time to put her together. Started stock then morphed to a chopper, had a sweet goose neck frame given to me, plunger rear. Never really been a chopper fan, more a bobber guy myself so thats the state she's in to this day. I'm seperated from them by about 2500km as they're in Nova Scotia but one day they shall be back here. Over the years there have been others, Triumphs, Yamaha's, Honda's, Vespa with a side car (really cool thing) but all never stayed with me.
  12. Nicely done sir, I had a fantastic time & glad everyone has checked off the Rory!
  13. Guessing 1/4" to 1/2" & white-ish, they are real mushy & don't stay on the hooks to well but maybe I'm putting them on wrong?
  14. Yes maggots, bait shop not to far from me started to carry them
  15. Ya creative license
  16. You grab some GPS concordance from MNR Rules & Regs & set out on a trek. You've heard myths about this place holding some decent sized Brookies, maybe even spotted some pictures with a few beasties that were pulled out in years gone by, but would they still be there? My buddy & I would pick up the challenge! We wanted to bring the canoe but winds today were fierce so it was left home, we would have to shore fish if we could find decent spots. We park at the side of the hwy & start our trek inland, no path, hilly, but not a extremely difficult trek, about 1km. Hitting the lake was like finding a slice of heaven, I love Can Shield lakes. We start to work the lake over pitching spoons & spinners & having zero success. Thought that one area would be impossible to find shore spots as it was cliff faced, cursing we didn't bring the canoe but darted over there regardless, tricky maneuvering but found a great spot. Change up & we start using maggots, wind was nicely sheltered here. The hours ticked by with nada a bite. I always bring a whisky with me on these trips as I quite enjoy sitting back sipping away, & this is where the Great One from the title comes in. Wayne Gretzky has just put out a whisky & normally I run away when a celebrity endorses a whisky but he is hands on with this so I thought to give it a shot, very glad I did & great sipping whisky & opens up even more with a splash of water . We pour ourselves a good sniff & my rod moves, launch into action & a short but awesome battle ensues & I was on board with a very respectible Brookie After settling down, the wait was back on, that couldn't have been the only fish in town! Pour another shot, my buddies rod goes off & after a lengthy battle a beautiful male came in but the hook popped out on our almost non existent landing area. He would fight another one minutes later, just a beauty What the hell we pour yet another shot & my rod fires, not a big guy but still respectable. I'm using terms like Rod Fires or Moves but really these were some of the lightest biting Brookies I've ever seen. We had a few missed chances mixed in as well. Things seemed to die off so.........we pour another shot, shortly afterwards my float starts heading against the current....HMMMM! Not since my spring trip to Trident lake had I tied into quality Brookies, just a all round awesome day! And REALLY the Whisky stuff is true!!!!
  17. Awesome stuff man, great story!
  18. Finished Supernatural season 11, I really dig this show
  19. I love Captain Slow's videos of him going sonic, that's a great one Dan but I still like his first trip more
  20. I don't wade into politics very often if at all because I'm a anarchist at heart but will you please Canadave list these books you've read, I'm 100% positive they are not bias in the least. I do not care who wins the election down south as I don't subscribe to the US being the be all to end all. Trump wins...great, Clinton wins..fantastic, the world keeps spinning & life goes on!
  21. I was at a great Horror Convention today called Horror Rama (3) that had a favorite DVD company in house (Vinegar Syndrome) as well as many a cool guest ( Dyanne Thorne of Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS fame, Jeff Lieberman of Blue Sunshine fame, & Bill Lustig of Maniac (1980) fame) I picked up a few (to many) tittles but most importantly this one Corruption (1983) directed by Roger Walkins (Last House On A Dead End Street)
