  1. I can't wait for simcoe to freeze over, I hope to do more ice fishing this year.
  2. Good stuff! Loved it all. Do you do any winter fishing?
  3. yup and it looked to be a fresh one too Lots of small ones caught today but I've seen some tanks caught this season Thanks Thanks. Have you gotten to fish it the last few years? Thanks. My buddy managed to get a bigger one on our next outing. I can't believe how big they get. All the way to the dam? That's crazy.
  4. Those are some solid tanks. Good stuff! Do you change your trebles to singles?
  5. I'll be picking up a few when they're in stock at my local tackle shop. Question... How shallow are you guys targeting whitefish? This new size should be killer for shallow water whities
  6. I use it for steelheading when I'm usually pulling out line often during an outing. I've always gone with the rubber bands but they don't always hold the line in place.
  7. Looks like it's back in stock... https://www.sail.ca/en/ice-armor-dual-tray-jig-box-large-505622 Buy now to get 20% off
  8. Here’s a easy diy to make line holders for your spools. All you need are headbands, beads and a glue gun. Hope this helps you out.
  9. I’m looking for slip on traction cleats to put on my boots for ice fishing. They gotta be easy to slip on and off and provide good traction. What are you guys using on the ice? I forgot which ones I bought last year but they were very hard to slip on my boots. If I can’t find any, I was thinking of drilling studs to my Baffin Titans.
  10. Congrats on the PB and cool story
  11. I tried to update everyday while I was there but I would get random reception. I found I'd get best reception while I'm on a boat in the middle of the lake. Brookies are beautiful fish and they taste good too. I wish I did more trout fishing I'll have to search for that article. I wish the brookies in the rivers were open.
  12. Thanks guys, I wish I took more pics of everything. My buddy is friends with the sons owner. They've been going up the last 3 years.
  13. Nice catch. How big was it? I know white suckers barely fight.
  14. We left Toronto Friday night just after 9pm and 12 hours later we reached our destination of Lower Twin Lakes Lodge, Nakina. Day 1: Walleye Lots of fish caught in the 15"-19" range. We got our 4 man limit. Fish fry tor lunch. Day 2: More walleye and a whitefish We tried trolling for pike but no takers so we went back for some more walleye. I also caught my first whitefish of the trip. Day 3: Brookies Today we woke up to frost and fog. Our goal today was to get into some brook trout at a local stocked pond. We only got into a few but I caught my first brookie. Day 4: More Brookies Today we went out again for more brookies with the owner John and he guided us. It was a huge difference between yesterday and today. I must've caught over 20+ brookies, all on lures, spinners and spoons. I wish I took pics of the bigger ones but it was hard to stop to take a pic when the fishing was hot. Day 5: Exploring near by lakes Today was calling for rain so we decided to go exploring. We drove around side roads to look for bush chickens but they were scarce. Google maps lead us to a small lake with some shore line access. My goal for this lake was to cover water and look for my first pike. Fish on my second cast, it started to peel drag and I could feel the head shakes. When I got it closer, I can see it was a laker. My buddy also caught a whitefish after. Day 5-7 Was pretty much all same and I barely took any pictures. Here's what I managed.. The morning we had to leave for Toronto was a snow day I wish I could've explored all the surrounding lakes but time felt like it was going by fast. I'm hoping I can make this trip again next year. Lower Twin Lakes Lodge made us feel at home and I would recommend this place to anyone.
  15. I would love to catch a natural brook trout, I hear they get a lot bigger then the stock ones. Any reports from Wababimiga? I searched on here and online and I didn't see anything show up. I'll have to ask John when I get up there. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to put a box of single hooked lures together for the purpose of unhooking snot rockets with ease. Did you guys get into any walleye? As for pics and vids, I got 2 waterwolf cams and 2 gofish cams that are ready to take some sweet underwater footage. I can't wait
  16. Thanks for the reply. i was looking at the regs for zone 2 and noticed it was closed for brook trout. The lodge is close to the border of zone 7 so I looked at the regs and it says it’s closed too but open to these small back lakes. That’s where we’ll be targeting brookies.
  17. I'm going to Lower Twin Lakes Lodge Nakina at the end of the month for a week. They're known for walleye, pike and brook trout. Any chance anyone fished it before? I'm pumped for this trip. I got one week to do my research.
