I bought mine from a local marine shop... Here's a link for the lock.. http://www.discountmarinesupplies.com/Moto...MOTOR_LOCK.html

If your motor is a tiller or you have a kicker make sure that you have those locked up as well!!!....I've been using this one for years now and it has prevented any thefts that I experienced here on the river proir to getting one..

Hey Folks....I'm in the market for another handheld GPS unit....it's time to get out of the stone age and retire my trusty old Magellan 315...It's going to be a coin toss between the Garmin and Lowrance... Anyone know what the difference is between the Garmin 60CX and 76CX other then the memory card size, floatable if dropped in the water and waterproof housing that the 76CX offers????.....and does the Garmin have a 12V adapter like the Lowrance H20?? The main uses for the GPS would be for treking though the bush with the ATV finding more trout lakes, and navigating on larger lakes... I've had a couple of Lowrance fish finders and never had problems with them...the Lowrance iFinder H20C comes with a 12V power adapter and is $274...the Garmin 60CX or 76CX are both $319... What to do...what to do??? Thanks, Steve

Looking for a pick up truck
TroutnMuskieHunter replied to fishing n autograph's topic in General Discussion
I'm on my 3rd F-150 4x4 now and I have nothing but good to say about them...nothing special, regular cab so I can get my ATV into the back, and I opted for the trailer package with the extra cooling for the transmission.....I don't baby my trucks...I've passed weekend hikers in the bush and saw their jaws drop while I crawled past them to get into some of my little trout lakes ......sure...the truck consumes gas but that's part of being a truck owner and most full sized trucks are comparable give or take $10 -$20 per tank and depending on your driving habits!!!!... -

I agree with Rich...I know I'm pretty beat after a day on the water hunting for Muskies or any fish for that matter...lugging a kicker motor through the bush with your fishing gear strapped on you back to get into your fav little trout lake is also pretty physical... Here's one of the definitions from Webster's Dict. for sport and athlete SPORT: physical activity engaged in for pleasure; ATHLETE: one who is trained or skilled in excercises, sports, or games requiring physical strength, agility, or stamina.

Have you ever bought a transducer!
TroutnMuskieHunter replied to Vanselena's topic in General Discussion
I would like to see rubber "boots" at both ends of the cable..this would eliminate the actual stress on the cable itself at the entrance to the transducer and connector....I have 2 transducers from my Lowrance X40 and both have had the outer jacket of the cable and conducting shield seperate right at the base of the transducer and one at the connector itself .....the maddening part of this is that there is no way to splice the cables because the damage area is flush at the transducer and at the connector... -

LOL Wayne.....The woodstove that's in my shack is an overkill to say the least....It's rated to heat an 1800sq' garage...I was melting in there this morning Here's a few shots of my home away from home -
Woke up at 05:00AM this morning thanks to my 2 boys (2 dogs), that started growling at the window ......there must have been another animal around the area or some drunk ice fisherman staggering home from an all nighter for them to growl like that!!! .... Anyway, made a quick coffee and headed out to the ice shack for an early start......I could see the clouds moving out and a nice front with clear skies moving in...THE BITE WAS ON!!! ..after a few hours of steady bites and a few keepers, I started gettin a tad hungry and decided to come in at 10:00AM for some breakfast.... Here's a few pics to share with you all..... Hopefully the afternoon bite will be just as good!!!!!

On the other hand, some people such as myself need the extra cable length to run from the console of the pontoon boat, through the floor and run back to the back of the pontoons....could be anywhere from 9 - 14' -
You mean the ones at the bottom right of this page??? http://www.royaldistributing.com/ShoppingC...2008%2F330.html LOL...I guess those would be slippery when wet ....those look like a good idea to use to keep the leaves from fallin' in my eavestrough I have the ones further up on the right hand side.. Anyone have any experience with bulk meat orders
TroutnMuskieHunter replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
We do the same as Gerritt does and buy a full side of beef from a buddy of mine that's a full-time farmer.....no complaints whatsoever!! Most farmers will ask you what size of animal do you want...We prefer the younger animals because the steaks are smaller in size and we find the meat a little more tender. The other beauty of ordering your own beef is that you get to choose the cuts that you want. My buddy gives me a printout with all the cuts of beef and also has a column to right down how thick you want your steaks cut, how many lbs you want your roasts to be, etc... and it's up to you to fill it out.....we don't like Blade steaks or Blade roasts so we get them to grind them into hamburg...it's amazing how many different cuts there are to choose from!!.....I have to go grab lunch, all this talk about beef is making me hungry!! Support your local farmer and buy Canadian Beef -
Well said GCD ....I agree 150%
