  1. Mornin' Folks, I'm thinking about buying a Clam Fish Trap while they're on sale right now....does anyone have any feedback on the Yukon, Voyager or X2????....i will be pulling it with my sled or ATV so the weight factor isn't important.... Also are these good prices??? CLAM CORP Fish Trap Yukon Fish House 349.99 US CLAM CORP Fish Trap Voyager Fish House 449.99 US CLAM CORP Fish Trap X2 Package 499.99 US Thanks.....
  2. Big Cliff.....I have the auto and pull start .....I just wonder sometimes if it'll work when you need it!!! ......it does have a manual inflator though and TomCat said it only took 6 deep breaths to inflate it....
  3. Welcome to a great site!!
  4. I wasn't aware of that Lew...thanks!! The whole idea of buying this vest is for the purpose of always wearing it....my wife's girlfriend's husband drowned last year...he had just retired from the navy and was a great swimmer....the problem was that he was thrown from his bass boat after colliding with a shoal and an auto inflatable vest may have saved his life!!....most of my fishing is done solo so and I have to keep the wife happy ....she actually paid for this vest while we were out shopping
  5. Damn GCD....you sure are on the ball this morning
  6. It has both...not sure if it has an " alka seltzer tablet" or not, but it does state that the pdf will auto inflate if comes in contact with water... What happens if you're wearing this vest in a down pour?????????
  7. I'll start puttin' all my pennies away for your jar Wayne!
  8. I decided to go out and buy a Stearns auto inflatable PFD vest the other day.....I installed the CO2 cartridge and the small green ativation pin.. .....my question is: HOW do I know that this thing will actually work????....Has anyone ever tried theirs??...Is it wise to go out and buy a couple of spare cartidges and try it out first??.....do the CO2 cartidges have an expiry date??? Thanks.....
  9. Correction Wayne...."dogs" .......it's a blessing I didn't head up with you...we got POUNDED with snow here in the Ottawa Valley!!!....I'm trying to get a plan together to see how we're going to get the ice shacks off the river for the Saturday deadline!!!....doesn't look promising right now!!
  10. Where or what is Lakair???
  11. wow...that looks like awesome country!!....what were you guys fishing for??
  12. I've had best success trolling with Bucktails from season opener right through until end of August...then I "crank" it up a notch and start using the 10-12" crank baits
  13. GREAT report ...thanks for spending the time postin' all those pics to share with us BRING ON THE SOFT WATER PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  14. Thanks GCD....it was a tad chilly that morning with -23C degree temp....but the sun was nice and warm...or maybe it was the morning cocktails that was warming us up!!
  15. Just got back from an other annual trout'n trip with a few old friends...the drive up was great with blue skies, and clear roads...the drive home yesterday was CRAP and took close to 6hrs!!! Anyhow, our objective was to get away for a couple of days, FISH, tell "stories" true or false, FISH, smoke a few cigars, FISH, eat like Kings, FISH, have a lot of beverages and FISH!! We caught over 80 trout, and it was just the perfect trip!! Not a lot of pics due to my forgeting to bring spare camera batteries up with me!!!! The first trout of the day for my good ole buddy "Billy Jack" The fish cleaning station Me and "Butch" with a few more trout lying on the ice beside him... BREAKFAST!!!! LUNCH!!
  16. Great report....I think we're all a bit guilty when it comes to priorities and fishing!! I'm headin' up North for trout on Friday with a bunch of lads I haven't seen for years!! It was my wife that kept insisting that I go and have some fun with old friends....I plan on coming home early Sunday instead of Monday to surprise her (it's her B'day) and pamper her for the day!!!
  17. Those are definitely some nice fish!!! thanks for sharing .....man I wish I lived closer to the Great Lakes and Niagara region!!
  18. Nice report and pics!!...sure makes the drive home a lot better when you've caught fish
  19. Thanks for posting those pics!! nice eyes....I can't seem to find any eyes over 17" here on the Ottawa R. this year....good for eating though
  20. Good advice Wayne....way to too many Loonie Toons out there to try and confront yourself...if you can't get hold of your district MNR office, you can also contact the local police...I believe they also have the authority to lay charges for breaking Ontario Fishing regulations....I know for sure that the Ottawa Police have charged locals out here on the ice for not producing a fishing license....
  21. Nice report and fish....great pics..
  22. We couldn't of asked for a better day yesterday if you were doing any type of outdoor activities.. The sun was warm, and the wind was light...hopefully spring is around the corner along with the soft water season. It was great to finally see the CO's out and about on the river...YES... 2 of them!!! The senior CO is a regular and he was with a rookie that was sent down from Cochrane. They had new sleds and they knew how to drive them... They were out on Friday and again yesterday!! Friday they were checking for hut registration#'s and yesterday they were hoping to find the owners of the non-registered huts ..... They nailed a guy just a few hundred yards from me with TOO MANY LINES ... 4 lines to be exact according to the CO...it was the rookies first "bust" ....very nice to see these guys out again!!! Fishing was great....lots of fat perch, a few eating size sauger and eyes, and a 5lb pike....
  23. SUPER news Wayne!!!...she'll be up dancin' in no time!!
  24. Thanks for all the replies....I'm as confused as I was to start ...I'll continue to do some more research..
