Dang.... with the warm weather coming I am itching to get my new gear installed on the boat.... I need to head over to see Jos in the next week or two as there is a bunch of other stuff I need as well... Considering a new Bow mount and VHF radio. G

Taper, I looked for the Ram mounts when I was there, I did not see them... or I would have ordered them from him for sure. I picked up 2 - 111U's from GPS City for 38.95 Thanks for the heads up Wayne! I should have them tomorrow. G

Rick, they will not register the trailer until the taxes are paid on the package. I know I went through it with Spiels boat.
-
The MTO is supposed to collect taxes. But people are skirting the system by having the trailer on a separate receipt and service Ontario does not collect taxes on vessels. If the boat was sold to you as a package on the bill the MTO would collect taxes on the entire package. I have heard stories of people getting bills YEARS later from the government telling them to pay their unpaid taxes on the boat. Just be prepared for that letter one day. G

Bringing this back up as I am looking for the best place to purchase them. Safe to assume I will be ordering 2 balls and one post per unit?? Also do I need a special mount for Eagle Electronics? Thanks for the link Brian but I would rather deal with someone here in Canada... Where did you guys purchase yours and around what $$ figure so I have an idea on what I am spending. G

Looking for the dead patch of grass is a sure fire way to locate your septic tank. If you have water coming into the basement from the floor drain you need to look into having a one way valve installed before you finish your basement. if your located on the north side of airport rd, in most of the homes the septic was located off of the North-East corner of your house. Lake St. John can be accessed from off of Rama Rd. Or off of Airport rd. The factory located on the lake is in fact a Soap Plant. I grew up fishing St.John and have spent alot of memorable time there. Those walters are Beauties! Glad you had a good outing! I should stop by and see if my grandparents property still looks the same.... (they were located directly across from the factory. There were 3 small cabins on the property) G

Meely, I should add... ask for a discount!.. I did and they obliged! it was 13% or something... basically took care of the taxes G

I own a 'Rude... it is not an E-Tec mind you... but it is a powerful engine for it's HP, It has not caused me a lick of problems, all I have done is routine maintenance, there was a time when Evinrude was not well regarded, back when VRO's were failing and engines were seizing.. This has left a sour taste in some peoples mouths.. I still have a 9.9 johnson and a 25hp johnson that run like champs! It was an easy decision for me to pick a Evinrude to power my boat. Gerritt.

Press Release BRP ROLLS OUT EVINRUDE E-TEC 300 HP OUTBOARD ENGINE Worldwide expansion of successful Evinrude E-TEC outboards continues into higher horsepower Sturtevant, WI, January 24, 2008 – BRP's newest addition to the 2008 Evinrude® E-TEC® outboard engine line is now available at Evinrude dealerships worldwide. The 300-hp models, with new SLE Magnum gearcase, offer the unique combination of industry-leading innovation, performance, and ease-of-use that all Evinrude E-TEC engines provide for boaters who seek a premium power of choice. “The 300-hp Evinrude E-TEC engine gives off-shore anglers and high performance boating enthusiasts a new choice in low maintenance, low emission outboard power,” says Roch Lambert, vice president and general manager, Outboard Marine Engines, BRP. “The 300-hp carries the same 3-year / 300-hour benefit of no dealer scheduled maintenance, consistent with all Evinrude E-TEC engines. No other brand of outboard engine allows consumers to spend more time on the water," he continues. "We're confident that this unique benefit now delivered in the 300-hp engine will enable the Evinrude brand to continue its strong growth in the market." Consumers will be able to experience the new 300-hp Evinrude E-TEC engine when it debuts at the upcoming Miami International Boat Show this February. "The international success of Evinrude E-TEC engines is incredible and it continues to change the industry," noted Michel Hade, vice president and general manager, BRP International Division. "The Evinrude brand has been a key driver of growth, resulting in increased profitability for our dealers, distributors and BRP, and aiding in the transition to cleaner emission products in many markets. As we continue to expand our state-of-the-art Evinrude line-up, we further define, through the E-TEC technology, world leading products that deliver the best recreational experience available," he concluded. With 3.4 liters of displacement, the engine offers more torque, low-end power and top speed than similar competitive two and four stroke outboard engines. This additional power allows boaters to plane heavy loads, pull skiers, wake boarders or tubers better than ever before. Additional torque is particularly beneficial for boating in high altitude areas and in hot climates. The Evinrude E-TEC 300-hp wraps a big block two-stroke direct injection power plant in a compact, lightweight design that provides more performance than competitive engines at the Page 2 same horsepower. An amazing high power to low weight ratio provides a host of advantages including greater fuel efficiency, less draft for improved boat handling, faster boat planing, and less stress on the structural integrity of the boat transom. One of the biggest benefits of the unique Evinrude E-TEC technology is increased fuel economy and extended boating range. Performance testing has shown that the new 300-hp engine can deliver as much as 35-40-percent improvement in fuel economy and 50-percent improvement in oil consumption when compared to traditional electronic fuel injection (EFI) models. The 300-hp Evinrude E-TEC includes an all-new SLE Magnum high performance gearcase - the most durable V-6 gearcase BRP has ever made. Its hydrodynamic design increases speed and engine efficiency while providing superior control. A computer designed leading edge reduces the chance of weeds wrapping around the housing that could compromise cooling and performance. Secondary water inlets, located at the nose of the gearcase housing, provide improved cooling over a wider range of conditions. An innovative forward gear and bearing design increases strength and durability while movement and wear are greatly reduced with a new propshaft bearing carrier. The new Evinrude E-TEC 300-hp engine is available in white 25- and 30-inch shaft models as well as counter-rotating models and carries BRP's unbeatable factory-backed three year nondeclining warranty. Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), a privately-held company, is a world leader in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and marketing of motorized recreational vehicles. Bernie, have a list price on these bad boys? how many days of saving pocket change will I need? LOL G

Hey hey all! Well I know you have heard me rave about the great service I have received in the past with my present insurance company Certas... Turn out they were just bought out my Desjardins... Desjardins is a Visa Broker, Rona Card etc etc etc financial company.... I hate this EVIL Quebec Firm.. Constantly plastered with mailings from them or telemarketing for their financial products.... I truly despise them So now to find out I will be paying $$ to a company I love to hate I m not happy. Seeing as how they changed I highly doubt I should be required to pay a break-fee either.. I was not consulted nor asked if I wanted to change insurance companies. I refuse to do business with this firm. They therefor cannot force me to continue with them. I am now officially in the market for insurance. For my house, two vehicles and boat. Landlocked, Steve.. have a moment to spare? Anyone else happy with their rate and the service provided? Thanks! G
