Is that halibut? Doug

The asparagus points are a nice touch. I make a killer cream of asparagus soup, but I puree the whole soup. Doug

I would buy a boodle of them at that price! One of my favourite German dishes is schweinehaxen, although that might not be the right spelling. They aren't smoked, but man are they tasty! Doug

Thanks for taking the time to put this up! Doug

and if it's silver and curly, guess who snuck into your kitchen while you were out............😉

I'll give him $4000 for it..............😉 -
Thanks Smitty! I was in the woods a lot all spring, but was either turkey hunting or cutting trails. Not foraging like I should have been! Doug

attaboy Smitty! The bugs have been crazy here as well...........and when we were doing some fence repairs a week ago I found a stand of fiddlehead ferns on my property I had not seen before. It was too late for this year, but I know where they are now! I probably have wild leeks here somewhere but have not found them yet. Doug

I had a Starcraft Holiday 18 footer and it was a fabulous boat for big water. Exceptional hull. I had that one out in twelve foot swells off Bluffer's Park one time. But it was a bit big for back lakes and I swapped it away when I moved to Kingston. Good memories! -

I have a 16 foot Sylvan Super Snapper with a 40 HP Honda TILLER. It meets all your criteria. I bought this one because a buddy had one in Owen Sound back in the 80s and it was perfect for two anglers downrigging, even in bumpy water. He had a smaller engine, maybe 30 or 35 HP, and could troll on his. The 40 is too fast for trolling, so I put on a kicker plate and a 7.5 Honda when I was still downrigging. All that being said, I have no idea what prices are these days, and it sounds like stuff is more expensive than I would have guessed. The Sylvan has a nice hull and can take heavy water, but there are not a heck of a lot of them around. Good luck on your search! (and mine is not for sale...😉) Doug -
LOTS of rods and reels. Access to keeper walleye, not so much. I don't care for Bay of Quinte walleye, and the slot limit on the back lakes seriously restricts what a person can keep.......most fish caught are over the slot limit. About a two pound walleye or bigger goes back into the drink. Nice eaters aren't eaters around here. Thankfully, we have good numbers of decent perch! And crappies, bluegills, pumpkinseeds, and bass....................I am never hurting for a feed of fish, but I sure have a hankering for a feed of walleye! Doug

Rick can you please send me a case of frozen walleye fillets? 😉

I say again, Colour me GREEN with envy!!!!

Colour me GREEN with envy, Brian! Did you pick them yourself? Doug

Whereabouts was that, Rick? Doug

Guilty. But stuff I don't eat: many vegetables (Vegetables are what FOOD eats); any kind of fake food like tofu burgers. You want a burger, eat a burger, not some kind of modified chemically-enhanced piece of laboratory plant-based experiment. And most stuff I see in those photos of Asian food markets. Like this stuff:

Hey Brian! When Fred is fat enough, I have agreat recipe for squirrel pot pie.😋 Doug

Brian, that second one is called a Mini Chief. Never heard of that model before but it is smaller than a Little Chief, judging by capacity of only 15 lb. I guess that is a good price for the Big Chief. I bought mine twenty years ago or so for something over a hundred bucks, maybe $120ish.... Doug

When I needed a new burner for the Little Chief, I got it from Canadian Tire. When I needed a new power cord for the Big Chief, I got it from Amazon.

This is an EXCELLENT smoker. I had one for many years until it finally died, and replaced it with a Big Chief. They don't have the bells and whistles of a Bradley, but they are a great smoker at a price that doesn't break the bank. Doug
