Is there such a thing as a "Gar-Pike"???
-
Well I'll tell ya Mr. Misfish, if I had an expense account that would pay for travel, meals, lodging, and the hire of Cletus Drippindickel... I'd do just that!!! Family and commitments can wait while you're providing for the said family!!! I do not watch nor pay for TV fishing shows anymore, I've had a belly full of their bullcrap!!!... I liken it to professional wrestling! Not every angler can catch fish at will and only knows a small amount... but if you're gonna be a TV Star fisherman, I think you should mind your P's and Q's and put forth your utmost effort!!! I'd like to see a TV fishin' show where the host, guest, and guide eat a huge supper of Baked beans, boiled cabbage, and boiled eggs the night before filming... then have a farting contest the day of filming while catching fish... NOW THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!!!
-
13 shows a year is pathetic IMO, but I guess someone would actually have to work to provide 26 shows per year! 26 shows would give a great variety and we wouldn't have to watch the same old crap over and over! ... but maybe the famous TV Star fishermen can't catch enough fish with their Good Friend and guide whom they just met today Cletus Drippendickel in a year to make 26 episodes eh? I'm thinking the hardest thing about putting together a fishin' show is when to edit in the commercials so the folks at home don't realize you just went from a blue shirt, to a green one, to a kahki one, and to a red one... so they won't realize it took you 4 days to catch enough fish to make a 20 minute show (plus 10 minutes of commercials)

Where did you hook it Kevin?... here in Alabama if a fish is hooked anywhere in the head it is considered a legal catch! You gotta admit that the fight and catching a big fish was worth it! Good on you for removing those disgusting Lampreys!!! -
All fishing shows are reruns, they're filmed the year before and you're seeing them about 9 months later. If you want current fishing show watch the Limeyangler fishing show on this board!!! You can see some current stuff on youtube as well... not your hosted/commercialized fishing shows, but regular people doing some good fishing!

What size jig do you use for Bass
Greencoachdog replied to markiemark70's topic in General Discussion
You should do ok with the 1/4 and 4", use your old 1/8 fave and the new 1/4 and let us know how it goes! As time goes by, you can try other weights and gradually accumulate a selection! -
Yeah, that's nasty! Even if it is rusty sprinkler water, it shouldn't be dumped into the storm sewer.

I once towed a 20' Ranger Bass Boat with a 200 hp Merc 4 stroke... with a Moped!!!... to and from the lake... UPHILL both ways!!! -
Yes, I have both Makita and Ryobi cordless drill /drivers and there really isn't enough difference to justify the price of the Makita at purchase... nor the cost of the battery packs, 1 Makita battery costs as much as 2 Ryobi's. The Makitas may outlast the Ryobi... but the Ryobi hasn't died yet!

BAD DRILL! BAB BAD DRILL!!!... now go sit in the corner and discharge yourself!!!

He said... as he came bursting out of the closet in flames!!! -
But how many were snatched off of their bed, transported miles away from said bed ... subjected to weigh in procedures and released miles away from the aforementioned bed??? ... not to mention the week of OOS prefishing/bed snatching!!! ... and to think, some people wanted to brow-beat poor little Stonefly for catching a few little ol' Smallies off of the end of his dock!

Consider yourself as getting a little smarter!!! Diawa's are for retards that don't know any better. -

Polarized glasses are the real ticket for snatching Bass off of their beds!!!... in or out of season!!! If they aren't the real expensive ones.. you'll only see half as many bedding Bass as you would with the top dollar ones. -
NEVER grab the line!!! Grab the fish instead! The only way to land a big fish on light line is to wait until they're completely tired out, they will roll over on their side and wave their pectoral fin in the "I surrender" pose... don't touch the line, grab/net the fish!!! The rod and reel are your leverage on the fish! It really tickles me with some of the people I fish with, as soon as a fish starts pulling drag they start hollering "he's getting away, he's getting away"!!! If a fish is pulling drag and you have enough line on the spool, he isn't going anywhere!!! All the "big'uns" that "got away" are always attempted to land too early... much to their benefit!!!

Young children should be taught patriotism!!! Be proud of the country you live in or get the HELL out!!! (now that was spoken like a true American!!!) -
If the brace and bit works fine, what's with the cordless drill???... the brace and bit requires no batteries or electricity... just effort!!! ... or have you gotten lazy in todays "throw away" society???
-
You may want to get used to it, because it isn't going to get any better!!! ... you could go back to the old brace and bit method... I'll give you abot 15 minutes on one of those before you're calling up Sears and ordering 3 of those battery packs!

where to locate battery and fuel tank in the boat?
Greencoachdog replied to ch312's topic in General Discussion
The "Bunny Boat" you speak of is actually called Porpoising, and weight distribution isn't the cause or solution of the problem. Porpoising can be caused by several things, over powering, incorrect shaft length... but mainly from having the motor trimmed up to high.
