Much thanks Art for the math portion. You seem to get it.
Now to teach others lol. Safe drives tonight and this weekend fellas and ladies. It's not lookin good out there.
I taught defensive driving for DMV for a few years for extra money back in the mid 80's. I wish it was mandatory for all drivers instead of just the ones that had 5 points or more on their license.

I visited the Potomac River this summer. It didn't strike me as a great place to brink a boat. Maybe there are some slower sections down stream?
It depends on where you are it ranges from a river we use jetdrive boats on because it is shallow up to 28ft Cruiser I have on the lower Potomac river. The areas are only 60 miles apart by road. It can also be run down to the ocean in 4 hours. The upper Potomac is rich in it's small mouth bass and channel catfish. Lower down below Great Falls you can pick up walleye in a very few selected areas as well as some trophy small mouth. You continue down river where it is still freshwater and will fish for large mouth , striper bass, shad, 4 different species of catfish including the 60lb + blue catfish and the fun to catch snake-heads. We then enter into the brackish to saltwater and then you can fish for 10 different species that are fun and great eating. To fish it effectively you actually need from a canoe to a 30ft bay boat. If you are getting back down here shoot me a P.M. if our schedules are good we can go for a blast or I can give you a few tips on the area.

If you are lucky the warm front we have here will push up North far enough to give you some relief. Today is short sleeves and 68F and Sunday record breaking 72F.
I hate Ice storms they are the one thing that really wreaks havoc down here.
Good luck Y'all

A car driving 60 mph is going a mile a minute. A car driving 75 mph is going 1 1/4 miles a minute . If you maintain 15 mph over the speed limit for 60 minutes straight you have arrived at your destination 15 minutes faster. This is equal to 4 average red light signals, one stop at Timmy Hortons or 1/4 of the time it takes for the police officer to write you a ticket. Slow down it can save you or more importantly some other innocent persons life.

I can understand why you deleted some of the posts, but I really didn't see the need to delete my one post outlining the general range limitations of each type of gun and projectile used as it was very informative for those who are new to the game and had nothing to do with the "off track" discussion Cliff and I were having.
Merry Christmas
I returned it and edited the inflammatory portion but left the good information .
Merry Christmas back to you my friend.

Your method of hunting rabbits would be totally illegal here, but sounds like it would be effective.
Im a wingshooter myself. Cant beat a moving target, and its a different shot everytime.
S.
Well the land you do it on has to owned by yourself or a willing neighbor. The process of cutting the field is something that is needed to be done the rabbits are just a byproduct of the job. I can remember the sheriff and a few local politicians being on the hunt from time to time.
Mainly good memories from a time that has passed... Sometimes it makes me wish that life didn't get so complicated as the world gets older.

Raf I have a sump & deep cycle batteries. What type of inverter do I need to power my sump in an emergency? Thanx
Look on the tag and see if it lists the amp draw of the sump pump. take that number and multiply it by 120 volts then multiply it by 1.5 the final # is the watts needed to start and run the sump pump. I personally would not go the battery route because they need to always be charged and the amount of energy they store is finite. Most systems that run a battery sump pump find that they ignore them till they don't work. Take the same watts formula and buy a small generator then you can rotate it from the sump to the freezer or other appliance and keep more than one item running. The smaller units are quieter and use less gas than the bigger ones so the impact on the neighbors is minimum.

Very nice I should challenge you to a musky fishing trip. So far I have beat'en some of Canada's finest. I had one try so hard to trick me into catching a fish he bumped his first rock in his new boat.

You can be a sheep or you can be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Attack from the strong points by blending in. Get into the political loop and back the forces that will make the change. If you can't beat things then mediate your damages as best you can. If propane is cheaper than electric go to gas. It is not who can complain the loudest it is who can control the impact of issues in their life's that wins. This philosophy has served me well in life hopefully it will someday make your life better too.

My favorite is snap shooting at rabbits. You get a tractor and bushhog and make a large square. you post one man on each corner shooting in one direction. As the tractor cuts the square from the outside in the rabbits jump out and run thru the cleared section. The action is fast and the shooting is challenging. We also used to wade thru the swamps and shoot squirrel from the trees. Find a squirrel post one man on the tree and the other person walks to the other side to chase him around till one of you gets a shot. While hunting is a lot of fun I also like to target shoot using bowling pins swinging on a rope. We use pistols at close range and back off for the rifles at one range we had a 50 Caliber sniper rifle shooting at a 12 inch disk at 800 yards. While it was costing $5.00 a shot the excitement of hitting the gong was worth every penny.

Yup they are out there.....
Try dealing with then after the fact and they don't take responsibility for their crappy driving
Now that is the truest statement I have read here.

Absolute statements in black and white rarely pass the scrutiny of others the color gray is usually the correct answer.

Your plane is about as warm as a convertible VW. lol When Joe and I rebuilt ours we removed and replaced the heater channels that had rusted out and collapsed it was the difference between driveable in the fall and freezing to death.

You can hire a service and have a boat surveyed for a fee. It will give you the condition of the boat and the status of all of the paperwork. This service can be found from a place called US BOAT which is a national magazine/insurance/surveyor and they are a sound company. They have been fighting for boaters rights and safety for many years and have the ear of congress. I use them for everything including towing insurance/loss insurance and support them for their lobbying efforts.

Thanks for the note it is the reason I spend my time money and efforts to help my many friends who I have met here over the years. If it helps even the Mod's are taken aside by each other to straighten out some of our own views. Why I remember the last time we physically spanked T.J. we voted to never do it again it seems he likes it..... go figure.lol

Truth is I have never had a bad police officer talk to me ever. I have had 2 tickets in my life and both of them were my fault. They treated me as well as I treated them and there are no hard feelings. I talk to a lot of them unofficially when I get the chance and they put their pants on one leg at a time same as I do. It is a job that most do not want because of the attitude some people give the police who are keeping things safe for all of us.
Hats off to everyone who does a job that is dangerous or unpleasant so we all can live a better or safer life.
