  1. http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=600773 <--- Source of the rest of the flyer The 19.99 life jacket looks like a pretty neat deal and also the 15.99 Rapala Rod/Reel Combo http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/4015/img3007hi9.jpg http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/8066/img3006eg2.jpg
  2. thanks for the info guys!
  3. Last week I visited the Toronto Island and what I discovered was, there wasn't any weed growth. I walked from one end to the other to scout for places that holds lot's of weeds and there was nothing! I didn't see any panfishes, bass or pike there except for huge carps swimming around. My question is, how come weed growths don't grow as fast as other places. For example, High Park Grenadier Pond. This pond was flourished with weeds everywhere on the same day I visited the island. I was pretty disappointed when I visited Toronto Island. Is it normal that there are no weeds at this time of the year compared to other years?
  4. What works the best is PowerBait Honey Trout Worms.
  5. thanks a lot guys. More knowledge doesn't hurt
  6. I was wondering if smelt scooping is illegal? I heard there's a certain time of the year where it is open at a specific week where you could scoop as much smelts you want from the Niagara river. Can someone confirm this? I remember when I was young, my next door neighbour gave us a bag load of smelts and my parents would fry them up. And the thought of this makes me crave for them. If anyone have any experience of this, please share
  7. By the way, it's sold out @ Le Baron. My brother picked up the last one in store. I'm not sure when they will restock but I think you can order online. I can't wait to test it out. I've been reading about ultralight fishing rods and it seems very challenging and fun. I've been looking around for different brands of line but I'm not sure which one is the best. I want something that can cast far, does not tangle and resistant to abrasion .
  8. I came home today and walked into my room and surprise, a Quantum Xtralite Tackle tote was on my chair. My brother bought it for me as a late birthday gift and I was so happy! Here's the link to to the rod/reel combo http://www.lebaron.ca/pdf_files_sp08/fishi...rods_combos.pdf Anyways, I was wondering if anyone owns one and can tell me what they think of it. Since I like to fish for bass and panfish, do you guys think a 4lb line is best suited for this rod/reel? Can this rod handle 6lbs bass without it breaking? I can't wait to use this rod once school is over. This is perfect for me since I take the public transit to Grenaider Pond/ Toronto Islands.
  9. I was about to ask the same question, I've had my eyes on this rod for a year since I tend to do a lot of urban fishing. It's within my budget and my experience with quantum isn't so bad. Here's the link to le barons http://www.lebaron.ca/pdf_files_sp08/fishi...rods_combos.pdf
  10. Isn't it illegal to take fish from the lake and keep them as pets and also the part where you put them back in the lake? I think I read it somewhere where you cannot transport live fish unless they are bait fishes.
  11. I feel bad for paying that much because I never take fish home, catch and release and I hardly go fishing, probably like 20 times from spring to summer. I'm going to risk being carded this year. Just joking. My card hasn't expired yet but the conservation sticker is still 15$ correct?
  12. 12/20 and I hardly fish O_O.
  13. I was just remembering all the fishing trips I had this year and it made me miss those good times. I'm currently in school right now and I just thought that making a website would add something to my portfolio as it would be very beneficial to my future career. I'm pretty busy with school but I have a bit of time to work on this website I started. The website is called Go Urban Fishing in Toronto. I thought it would be a great idea to make an informative website and discussion page about the fishing opportunities Toronto has to offer. I, myself am only limited to shore fishing and I'm pretty sure there are people who can relate. Other than that, there are also people who travel to Toronto and fish at some of the amazing locations it has to offer such as the Toronto Islands and Grenadier Pond for the little kids. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone have pictures or information they can provide me to put on my website. I don't really have the domain name but right now I'm just developing it on my spare time. This is what I have so far, it's just some stuff I was playing around with but it's just an idea of how it might look. http://www.fansonerepublic.com/gourbanfish...banfishing.html If you guys want to contribute please email me your pictures of just sceneries of the places you can fish in Toronto and maybe a little report about the area, what types of species, and etc. [email protected]
  14. Today, I went to Rice Lake with my brother and his friend to do a little fishing and when we arrived at Bewdley, we noticed that the water was like chocolate milk. I read something about how its hard catching bass in these type of conditions but I saw someone catching a bass, probably around 2lbs. Right away, using our plastic Berkly honey worm, we managed to catch tons of perches by just reeling it slowly. I managed to catch around 25 perches, 10 of them were jumbos. Heres a picture of my biggest catch of the day. I know it's just a perch but at least I didn't get skunked. Oh yeah there were a lot of Asian guys who made my day LOL. They celebrated very loudly when they caught a small fish while I was ride beside them just pulling in perch nonstop. I just love the feeling of out fishing people, it makes me look like a pro. I did not keep any of the fish since I'm a catch and release fishermen.
  15. My brother and I planned to go to Rice lake today and I was wondering if the weather conditions would affect the fishing. .I believe it's raining in Baliboro during the night until morning. Would this cause the water to become murky and muddy? I read about how bass move into deeper water since they don't like the muddy/murky water. Can someone explain how chocolate milk water happens?
  16. oops someone beat me to the post. delete this please.
  17. http://www.thestar.com/News/GTA/article/260646 This article got me very concerned and I want to hear what you guys have to say about this.
  18. Shrimp. Smells good to the fishes =], I'm joking.. it would be the Rapala Original Floater F5. Catches most of the different species.
  19. This Saturday, I'll be heading to Trenton with my brother for the first time. We are not too familiar with the area and I was wondering if anyone can tell me where we can find shore fishing along Bay of Quinte or near the town. Any help is much appreciated.
