  1. Up in the Bancroft area I'm hearing that we're looking like a late April ice out unless something changes. As sinker said, the wind is a main factor, as well as the low temps at night being warmer.
  2. Kills me every time they do these. I really liked the basketball ones too with Kyrie Irving pretending to be an old man... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DnKOc6FISU
  3. Pretty spot on. I have been using soft plastics forever, just haven't really had early success craw ones, so I focused on what produced, but go curious. Fishing for me is great because it is always changing, things aren't set in stone. You guys are awesome, and the variety shown in terms of what people prefer is really eye opening. Thanks
  4. That's what I've been doing wrong. I tried trolling with a $20 bill, caught nothing.. hahaha
  5. Not quite weird, but a friend that was in the boat with me once caught a 6 pound pike on nothing but a bare red hook. Couldn't believe my eyes
  6. On the big O, any other colors than craw work well for you guys, Never used them before, I may have to go pick up a few... and by a few......
  7. Do you have a cheaper place to get them than what's easily searchable on google? The cheapest I could find was $12 for a pack of 7. The way my plastics get beat up, it seems like I'd be running through an awful lot of money that way.
  8. Appreciated, going to seriously check them out.
  9. A bit lost on the company or how to find the baits... am I missing something here? Supporting local tackle / tackle shops is a big thing when I can do it.
  10. I appreciate it, any other colors work well for you? I haven't had much success with red fleck on my lakes for some reason... the black fleck on another color (ex pumpkin) seems to be killer in other plastics for me I have a couple sitting around in my tackle box... will have to bust them out again this year, they got neglected last season
  11. Hey all, As I gear up for this summer season (if it ever gets warm), I've noticed I have a distinct lack of crayfish plastics in my tackle box. Was wondering what some of your favorite brands and colors were. I fish in the Paudash lake/Bancroft area if that helps.
  12. Appreciate the feedback guys, will try both what Lew suggested and the gorilla glue. My thought on the lighter is it would be similar to the soldering iron though....
  13. Hey guys, I have a question which hopefully some of you have experience with. I fish a ton up in the Haliburton County area, and love throwing topwater frogs. Occasionally a pike decides to chomp down on my nice LiveTarget frogs and Spro frogs, which is a ton of fun BUT they rip/cut the bait a bit with the teeth. They still work but take on water and don't have the same action. What is the best way you have found to repair these frogs. I have tried a soldering gun with little success and am worried that potentially using a super glue will leave a negative scent on the bait. Any experience and advice here would be greatly appreciated.
  14. I fish that area heavily. PM me and I'd be happy to share some patterns.
  15. I use the Trokar Wacky Weedless hooks, but bend down the barb. I find removing them is easy and quick. I also almost never get the dreaded gut hook (once in a blue moon).
