  1. Navionics sells and update that is about $99. I don't think it's available for all order cards so it depends on how old the card is. If you have a USB sd card reader you can plug it into your computer and go to the Navionics site and see if can recognize your card. It will give you the options of upgrade if it's available. If not you'll need to get a new card.
  2. Someone asked what a Cicada bait is. It's a metal blade bait made by reef runner lures. They have a lot of vibration on the pull but won't work well in heavy weeds. Rip jigging is a great technique that can get reaction strikes when fish aren't in a feeding mode. Hard to to beat a 3/8 or 1/2 oz bucktail with some black in it.
  3. I work in a retail store that sells Big Jon and can honestly say that I've never had a customer complain about one. They are great. You can still buy the springs for the line counters too.
  4. I use my Hummingbird 798 ci si unit on a utility box with battery and ice ducer and it works really good. I turn off the down and side imaging screens and use it with flasher mode or regular fishfinder mode depending on species. For Lakers the fishfinder mode is nice to see the history of what just happened like the streaks up and down... It also has GPS with navionics mapping which is helpful for finding and marking spots. Since you bought the Lowrance Elite 4 you could buy the Lowrance Ice Pack PPP 18 for about $150 which comes with the carrying bag, ice transducer, battery, charger and a few tackle boxes that fit into the bag. It's really nice.
  5. Huge crappie down south. They are getting bigger up here too with the warmer climates. Heard of a 3lber being caught up in Muskoka are through the ice this past winter.
  6. Nice report. Those are the memories of a lifetime with the kids!
  7. Very nice. Looks like a pretty big smallie there too!
  8. I love the look of the Tigers! just beautiful. I caught one about 45" on Balsam a few years ago but didn't get a good picture becasue we lost the fish after it flipped out of the cradle boatside. Just have a picture with it in the water while I was fighting it.
  9. Beauty fish! That's the one thing i don't like about the new photography standards. Someone can make a small fish look big by holding it out to the camera and having upward angles. Lots of fishing shows do that now too especially with wide angle lenses and it's hard to really see how big. Back in the day most pictures were taken from afar and just normal holds.
  10. My buddy just bought this unit this spring and his seems to be fine. Maybe it's just becasue he's fishing the kawartha region?
  11. Definitely nice big beautiful bass! Nice set of rods and reels you have there too. lol
  12. Looks like Heaven! Love the colours of those darker walleye. Did you eat the brook trout? They taste incredible.
  13. Very nice! Good fish. The first one is a smallie I guess.
