I'm not exactly the biggest Wal-Mart my self but I did however recently run into a similar problem. My batteries were not stored properly over the winter which caused plate damage. After doing some research on Warranties and prices I found that Walmart had the best. I picked up two 27DC batteries for $69.99 plus the $10 disposal fee. The batteries came with a 12 month free replacement warranty and 36month prorated warranty(which I still dont really understand). If you can afford to I would replace the old battery and test the newer one. It may cost you some initial money upfront to buy a new battery but moving forward it will save you many headaches. Just remember to take care of them in the future.

I've heard many good things about these boats. Canadian made with Lifetime warranty is always a good thing in my opinion. It all depend on what you're planning on using the boat for ie. species of fish, body of water fishing, tiller or console. GBay Giant has mentioned another extremely good boat that will last you a lifetime. Stanley boats are no Bull boat but esthetically not very pleasing. Stanley boats The numer one Aluminum boat made in the industry for quality, durability and esthetics in my opinion is Harbercraft. The gauge of aluminum used for the hauls of these boats is twice as thick as Misty River, Lund, Legend, and Tracker. The thick gauged aluminum combined with the one piece haul construction makes this boat virtually indestructible. If you have a chance check it out this week at the show, I'm pretty sure they're there. I remember seeing them last year.
