I've learned to use a baitcaster last season and with the temps slowly crawling up i'm hoping to purchase a quality low profile reel. I know a lot of people have nothing but good to say about the Curados when it comes to baitcasters. Unfortunately even with the recent rebates it's out of my budget.

So here i am looking at these two reels. The Tierra is priced at $120 and it's about 1oz lighter. The Energy PT is priced at $140 after the rebate. They both have similar line capacity and the same gear ratio (6:3:1).

Has anyone used these reels and can help me out? Thanks guys and girls

this issue comes up time to time and you would get different answers depending if a carp-hater or a carp-lover answer your question ... i for one is a carp angler ... won't try to stir pot here to argue whether carp is bad for the ecosystem and whatnot

IMHO, to be fair ... if you do hate carp so much that you have to kill every catch ... bring them home, and bury them in your backyard, keep the shoreline/banks clean ... each and everyone of us has our right to do whatever we want with our catch (given that it's not oos and within your limit), just not dumping it on the shore ... if you don't care, why not just dump it back and let them live? it is a living being after all.

u'll probably need lots of line on ur reel to handle carp on that exage ... especially the big fat ones in lake o
