  1. Good report MIke. Sunglasses for the kids is a great idea. Sorry I got your PM too late to join in the fun. Probably just as well, though. High winds could have been too much for the 12' tinny, especially with Andrew in the boat. Will talk to you later in the week if the new ride shows up at the dealer.
  2. Great report Dog. A hot day on the water is alot better than an air conditioned day in the office.
  3. congrats on the PB.
  4. that's disgusting....no supper tonight
  5. Hey Cliff, I'm looking at a drift sock too. I'm supposedto pickup my new ride this weekend. Before I had a 12' tin with a 9.9 honda 4S. It trolled slow enough and quiet enough that I didn't have to worry about kickers. The new boat will have a honda 40HP, and elctric bow mount. Mike the Pike is trying to convince me that I need a 2 - 4HP kicker. I can't justify having 3 motors on a 16' boat. Even if I did decide to get one, I don't think that the boss would let me spend the extra money. I'm going to Thomas Marine tonight. They have a good selection of drift socks. Maybe some professional advise will help me choose the right one.
  6. White Mr. Twister on a white 3/8 jig with red eye. Although, pink x-rap has been been treating me wrell of late.
  7. can't stand Henry Waszczuk. (fins & skins or fishing the flats) Like Dave Mercer and Pete Bowman Also like watching FWL (Walleye and Bass Tournaments)
  8. Been there, done that.... It's especially bad before our spring and fall trips to Quinte (guys only).
  9. I use braid with fluro leader on all my setups. Only exception is mono in the late fall. The braid ices up to easily.
  10. wtg capt'n, that's how to lead by example.
  11. This is my first report, so please bare with me... I have been excited all week. You see , I was supposed to pickup my brand new 1625 Classic today. Unfortunately, I found out on Thursday that it isn't in yet. Being the good friend that he is, MikeThePike suggested that we go fishing from shore..... So, off we went tis morning, at 8:00 am. We got to our spot and began fishing around 9:30. It was VERY windy, fishing from constantly moving docks at the far end of the marina. Within several minutes, we both had a couple of strikes and several follows. We new that we were in for a good time. Sure enough, we started catching little rockets. They ranged in size from 16" - 24". Within 2 hours, we managed to net 8 between us. My pictures are below. I am sure that Mike will post a report. This last pike was really hooked well, and flopped around in the net. He is bleeding, but swam away just fine. We plan on returning next week when I pickup the boat. Maybe we will bring the kids (Andrew and Ryan)
  12. excellent and professional looking. Enjoy!
  13. I borrowed a set from a friend once in Quinte. I had them on for 5 minutes and both stopped working. Make sure you bring spare bulbls and spare batteries. They also had a tendancy to come loose with the boat vibrations.
  14. NICE FISH. Headed there this weekend. Hope the bite is on!
  15. Great report Mike, it has me itching for Vicortia Day weekend in Quinte.
  16. Mike, You are right. This is definitely your fish. I am just glad that I was able to draw you a roadmap to my tipup and donate this fish to your anti-skunk cause. You are a good fishing partner, and even a better friend.
  17. Nice Post Mike. You forgot to mention that we left the comfort of our warm beds and lovely wives at 6:00 am on SUNDAY. Although we got skunked today, I'm still looking forward to Walleye in the Lachine Rapids in May. Talk to you during the week Glenn

    Hi All

THANKS ALL. Next time I will keep it simple.....I fish in Ontario and Quebec
  19. Hi all, I just joined last week. I live in St-Hubert, QC (near Montreal) and do most of my fishing with MikeThePike. He invited me on a fishing trip with the guys a couple of years ago, and I fell for the sport, hook, line and sinker. I have a Princecraft Ungava with a 9.9 Honda that I pull behind my hybrid camper. I do most of my fishing along the St-Lawrence River in Ontario and Quebec. I fish mostly Walleye, Pike, Bass and Perch. I look forward to reading your posts and chating with you in the future. GlennK
