This is only my 3rd post on this thread and I was the one to start it. I've read everyones comments and you know what the problem is here, he was fishing illegally! Despite what everyone wants to say about "no clear date, amateur investigation, brothers of the board blah,blah...." There is enough reason for me to say that he was fishing illegally! For everyone that is justifying his catch and saying " this is stupid, a ridiculous post and so on....think about the sport you love! If it was someone beside you, on the shore doing the same thing, would you just say you're ridiculous, this is stupid! Or, would you take action because you don't want to see the spawning walleye pulled from their beds and the sport you love become jeopardize...? If you would just ignore it, you are as much at fault than the person commiting the crime. AND IT IS A CRIME!

I was the first one to post about your illegl fshing and I wouldn't have done so unless I saw this post from you dated March 12th 2012 11:05pm "I'm looking for someone to go fishing with in Caledonia this Wednesday. I went with a buddy on Sunday and did very well, but I have no one to join me for the closing day of Walleye season, which is technically Wednesday at midnight. If you don't mind a workout in somewhat of fast moving water, I would love for someone to tag along for some fun, breast deep in water, walleye fishing! After reading the article in this months OC, my buddy and I rigged up and hit the Grand. It took about an hour to figure out what we were doing but then we got into them. Finished the day with 8 the biggest being 10.3lbs. Mark

Just got back from Carnarvon 5 minutes ago. Was able to drive in 9km unplowed road to my place with my Silverado 4x4, buy I see they will be getting some snow in the next couple days. 10-15 cm currently is about right.

Dear Lady Quinte, Although you were a freezing bugger this morning you always redeem yourself and hook me up with beautiful fish. Only 2 for the day 5.11/6.5 both on RR. 200 back 100 out, 40-50 ft water.

Fishdevil, how is it going for you on Quinte, lately Where are the hot spots this time of year? You must have been out?

By know means is it easy, it's just a bit easier right now. lolol

Fishfarmer, I hunt 90A as well. This one was with my Excaliber but I'll be out for shotgun too. I would guess it dressed out at 160-170lbs.

Took this nice 8 point on Sunday night.

Put a solid days fishing in on Quinte this weekend only to end up empty handed....along with a number of others I'm sure. Fished the gap after seeing our fishfinder light up and wasn't able to get a single fish to cooperate. Talked to a couple locals and they said the same. Only saw 2 fish caught, one on a bottom bouncer and the other by "U and Me" charters. Maybe if he is on this board he can tell you a better story then mine but for us the livewell remained empty this weekend. On Saturday there were 15-20 boats and when we drove by today only 2. Tried everything in our arsanal to no avail. Hopefully it is better when we go back in November. Attached is a picture of our fishfinder. Mark

Fished five hours for walleye. Only one on a worm harness in 15 ft. Lots of boats. Supposedly the smallmouth fishing is great on the humps with minnas.

I was snapped of by a big bass on a small lake years ago. The next morning I found the rapala on the bank. Look at it this way, have you ever caught a fish with a hook in it's mouth? The turtle will be fine. The hook doesn't rust out, the acid in their body, like a fish, will free the hook in no time. You can sleep easy tonight.

Hi, Looking to replace two of my old batteries. They are the Nautilus from CTC. Not real impressed with theses as I have had several in the past with the same results. Any suggestions on a different make/model for a reasonable $? Thanks in advance, Mark

I've eaten Fiddleheads since I was a kid but there has been some question surrounding the toxicity of them. It is recommended that they be cooked for 10 minutes and change the water once in between. Also, make sure they are Ostrich Ferns not Braken(not usually around here) as, the later has been linked to cancer. The affects are rare but include nausea, vommitting and diarrhea...nothing that will kill you, so enjoy! I will be picking some this weekend

Hi, Suprised no on has posted about the closure of Hamilton Pier yet? It's been like that for a month now and is one of the smelting hot spots. Anyone been to the other pier across the canal? Wonder if thay are coming in on that side. Mark
